With all the branches of the military coordinating with the White House on DEI and LBGQ+ ; I would not want to be in the military. It was certainly falling apart when I retired in’95, and now-it’s a total failure. I can’t stand what I see when I visit a military facility.

I'm 53 and a Veteran, they have been talking about bringing back the draft since the early 80's.

My husband had to register in ‘83, when he turned 18-he wrote them a letter, because they wouldn’t let him enlist, (because he didn’t have a high school diploma)-but they required him to register. They wrote back and said he would be arrested if he ignored the draft! He was pissed!

@@SmileyCastillo-yn1vl No idea post wasn't clear , they may not enlist you if you don't have high school diploma but if DRAFT is declared even if you are not in list they have other lists and could in theory call you to Army Commission at least and then decide. My guess is that they won't enlist you until you get chance to at least finish high school but they won't wait forever.

@@caderamsey8878 Yes , it's non issue. I can't really see far very well but good enough to not have to wear glasses. I only wear them when I drive because I can't tell what sign it is at 500m. But I can see up close really well and I have great night vision (if there is a moon out I'm good). You will use binoculars and modern weapons all have lenses and you put them at your eye like glasses. If you can't see well with them then yes , they would have to consider that when deciding where you will serve but they consider everything anyway.

In the 90's, my daughter wrote a paper on why she thinks women should also be included in the draft registration. She joined the USAF and is currently serving her 19th year of service in the Persian Gulf are. She has over 800 combat flight hours. My wife and I were both USAF and I retired with only 80 combat flight hour. I very proud of my Daughter!!!

Not every child is mentally able to endure these challenges that war would inflict. The DRAFT is a suicide mission for a lot of our babies. It is really bad right now. The barracks are shit holes, no discipline whatsoever ect. In the 80's they made you live with drill sergeants all the way through AIT. No discipline problems after that. Very professional soldiers back then. This military is bad? Not the soldiers fault!

Former Army Recruiter here: Back when I voluntarily joined the Army, there were 2 wars going on and I knew what it meant to sign that contract. Wrote my will multiple times from age 26 to 31. Was handed my own body bag upon arrival in the Middle East. Anyways, I am against this draft. We should have a 100% voluntary, fit to fight military force. I wouldn’t want my children serving under this current tyrannical government. Don’t want to get drafted, too easy, get fat, develop asthma, smoke weed! Make yourself disqualified!

When I was in the Marines, I had a lesbian Marine that always talked about equal rights for females. "I think it's a great idea to allow females in infantry/direct combat roles." She said. Then I asked her, "Why not volunteer for the male vs. female infantry experiment." She had every excuse not to go. That was back in 2014-2015. The Marine Corp was the only branch that conducted an experiment between male and female (spereated, of course) to answer one question. Should females be allowed in direct combat roles? Long story short, the results were inconclusive.😂

I had to sign up for the draft back in 1972 when I turned 18 during the Vietnam War... They would have the draft lottery each month for the birth date and year... The police here in Chicago would do a stop and frisk on us black males and then ask to see your draft card. No draft card? Off to jail you went... Kept mines in my wallet at all time

Sadly I agree with this comment, even though I think there are a lot of issues with women in combat as a whole. 😂 (Before someone gets mad, my opinion there is not an emotional or unnecessarily biased one, nor am I disrespecting women who do put their lives on the line. As a woman with a very analytical-even stereotypically masculine-thinking pattern who enjoys military history, tactics, etc., I still think that as a rule women make worse soldiers than men.)

If you joined after 1975, you signed up for selective service (draft) before you joined. All enlistees after 1975 must provide a selective service number.

I wish I was young again, and could go back to my old team. But I might get into some trouble, if some people out ranked me,and gave me a order. Im not talking about a male or female, or race.(Hint Hint). And I don't think females should have a combat mos,and it's not because I wouldn't trust one to have my 6, but if the worse case scenario happened, and she got grabbed my the enemy. But of the videos I see now days, like Infantry osut,it seems alot easier then when I got to Ft Benning, and echo 2/58. They took the shark attack away, which was hell,from just coming in as a civilian, just afew weeks earlier. I would be the happiest person in the world, if I was in my 20s again. I was looking at your wall and saw the Ranger scroll, but I also see 1st SOFD-D, but is the 1st patch just 1st SFG?

Federal and state taxes also apply automatically when you get a job. Social security tax also applies automatically. What's not automatic is them helping you get a job.

Women: "We want equal rights!" Men: "Ok, then you're going to be drafted along with us." Women: "Well, not THAT equal."

On my 2nd tour to Iraq, our company had six soldiers who were Stop Lossed(back door draft) serve with us. They were disgruntled, hard to get along with, & insubordinate because they did not want to be there. One guy said he had been "recalled" to service 4 times! This was his 5th tour to Iraq. So I say no to the draft because it causes trouble with those who have volunteered to serve.

I'm currently active duty and I'm expected to finish my contract in 2025...unfortunately I will be on the inactive reserves which means the moment after I get out, they want me back in.....FML 😭
