Thank you.
Welcome!
Damn GREAT tutorial vid!!! Thank you
Thanks ☺️
Im curious, why use iso alcohol instead of just the spray glue does the iso prep the surface somehow?
Breaks the surface tension to allow the glue to penetrate the various layers
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes oh that totally makes sense! Thank you. 😊
Pro Tip: Save some plaster rock pieces and use them to press the rock texture into the wet sculpt-a-mold.
Hey I like this idea! Thanks
Definitely want to see some battle reports!
I'll get there! 😆
how much time to build it ?
Several weeks worth of evenings crafting after work.
Could use it for Scorpions ,snakes, trantullas, the snakes could be small uptotwo or 3 ft.long
Static gradd applicators now on Ebay cheap as chips, AND THEY WORK. ASK ME HOW I KNOW :-)
Great stuff! I think I'll have to try this technique. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for watching!
Dang man. That turned out fantastic. Well done
Thanks!
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes also excited after hearing you, Alex, and Jmacc are going to do a podcast together. Are you on as a guest or regular host? You guys are my 3 favorite channels.
@yesmilord2350 awww thanks man! I’ll be on from time to time as a guest on the podcast. Was a lot of fun so looking forward to the next one. Will sort a better mic for then 😆
remember kids, when spray painting outside, make sure the wind is blowing away from you. Looks good! I love using bark for this stuff. My first bits of scatter terrain I deffinitely didn't cook it. I wonder how that's been going. It was a couple years ago. They still LOOK fine...
Hahaha yeah I was a bit silly there! Cooking the bark is just insurance. They'll probably be fine but you never know....
I once took a Mordor war catapult into my buddies fiefdom list. I tried to warn him that he should spread out even though he's a death ball army, maybe go for the side objectives so he wouldn't be so clumped up. But no, he was certain. So turn 1 i shot Imrahil off his horse and killed a small blob of pikeman and he scooped. This here is the heart of the issue with siege engines in Middle earth: familiarity and player perception. I imagine someone will get bodied one time and then get online and be mad about them rather than seeing that there are numerous ways to play around the engines. in fact they demand to be played around. What does your list have that can deal with one? The scenario above was both of our first times experiencing siege engines so yeah getting blown out is kind of expected but i imagine if we had grinded out the siege engine experience for a couple more games we could have found them to be good but manageable
They definitely add an interesting element (and challenge!) to the game. I agree that you just have to find ways to counter them. Can be suuuuper annoying when they one shot your best unit though! 😅
Brother those poppers tho
Gotta love the poppers!
Fantastic Frother
I meant Fantsy Frother
love this video, made one of my own i didnt like the regular objective markers lol😂
Custom bases are awesome! 🙌
That's a great board with good techniques. You might want to try painting your polystyrene with gesso, you can even mix it with cheap acrylic artist paint. It toughens everything up.
Great tip thanks!
Thanks for sharing.
The good thing with this is that all those wood chips with a bit of wax can be turned into fire starters that can be gifted to a family member or friend who's into outdoor survival or camping.
Funny you should say that, I actually considered adding something like that into the video! 😆
Very creative, thanks for sharing.
My pleasure 😊
I love the board! Your videos are awesome! Hope you get free stuff :)
Haha thanks man, so do I!!! 😄
I think it’s Vallejo Iraqi sand 😬
🤷🏼♂️
Recasting isn't evil. Price gouging 500$ for 25$ worth of plastic and design is.
Lovely! I've tried commercial sealant from WS but it didn't really work for keeping foliage stuck to my trees. So then I switched to spray glue from Noch, which works like a charm but leaves the trees tacky all over, which isn't all that nice. So this homemade recipe is what I'm trying next! And if it doesn't work for the trees, I'll just use it for my next project which will be my first game board. One question though: I always see you double spraying first with IPA and then with the sealant. Why not replace some of the water in this recipe with IPA instead? Will it mess up the glue in the Mod Podge?
Hey there! Adding iso to mod podge makes it go weird and goopy. The iso spray first simply breaks surface tension which is also what the drops of detergent does. Good luck!
Looks great, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Looks great, thanks for the information.
Cheers 😊
Best I've seen so far and I've seen dozens.
Thank you so much! 😊
Very nice. I need to do this.
Thanks, good luck!
I'm brand new to this hobby. So doctor suggested this video and the hobby to retain my fine manipulation skills as I have a polyneuropathy disease so thanks for your help! 👍
You are most welcome! 😊
How important is pinning? Could I get away with just superglue?
The pinning adds strength, you could get away with not pinning them just be aware that a bit of rough handling may cause them to break off.
I understand why companies send free shit to influencers, but can’t help but feel that it’s a bit unfair for everyone else, personally I feel like having a cheaper product would be just as good for sales and if it’s cheap influencers will generally talk about it anyway. Also I feel like a mesh glove would be better when using your Stanley knife that way, just my 2 cents. Also even though your a kiwi I’ll still give you a sub
"Even though"?! Hahaha cheers mate
I cant understand with what you seal the flock. Can you write me please?
It’s a mix of water and modpodge. I have a video showing how I make it.
Awesome looking! I am almost finished with my own, but where do you get the sealant for the flock? Is it watered down pva in a spray bottle? Cheers!
Thanks buddy! I make it myself with modpodge and water. I made a video about it actually! 😆
BRILLIANT!!! I'm an LGS owner expanding into WH and this solves so many of my obstacles towards growing a community! THANK YOU!!!!
Glad it helped! Good luck with your LGS community mate! 😁
Looks great, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
So let me get this right…. You bash off all of the straight edges, then the next step is to use a saw to cut straight edges on them
Watch the video all the way through to see why! 😆
Good work
Thanks!
Brilliant
Thanks! 😊
This looks so great! Very impressed with all of it.
Thank you very much! 😊
What do you think about texture paper to do this kind of bases?
Yeah that’s another way to create interesting effects 😊
My god that is incredible
Thanks! 😁
Really enjoyed this! So much fun!
Thanks Harry! 😊
This turned out SO good.
Thanks! 😄
Loving the channel! These bases are amazing! Never worked with blue stuff and milliput before, did you need to wet the mold before putting the base with milliput in? Did you have to leave the base in the mold until it had set or press firmly and peel off?
Thanks Dan! No need to wet the mold and yes you leave the milliput to set before removing from the mold 😊
amazing board! Good job man!
Thanks ☺️
Definitely wait before you try and put isopropyl alcohol on your trees. I sprayed my trees with that before the sealant and it just dissolved the original glue. Had to watch my trees fall apart lol
Oh no!!! Probably don't even need the iso to be honest 😬
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes not on the trees at least I discovered. Either way this video definitely gave me the insight I needed to get crafting! So thank you for that. Just a couple lessons being learned that I think you only get from hands on approach.
awesome! Now that zorp is leaving us its nice to see others stepping in to keep the awesome LOTR content coming!
Haha thanks buddy, now I just need some of his thousands of subscribers to come on over! 😆
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes and foe GW to send a like of plastic goodness!
@EspenShampoo25 wouldn’t that be nice?! Don’t think so though after I did a video about recasting there stuff! 🤣😅
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes that movie wad awesome though, even GW can't deny that! Best mesbg board I've seen on YT
@EspenShampoo25 awww very kind thanks! ☺️
I dont think having all the tools and space you have to create those terrains are cheap by any means. No offense
👏👏👏
This board is turning out awesome 👍
Thank you! 😊
