Great colour scheme, I've adopted this for my own Mordor orcs with a few variations here and there.

Love the tutorial, definitely translating this over to some warg riders and Morannon Orcs I've got on the painting table. I'd love to see your display cabinet a little more that you've got behind you at the start of this intro. Looks like a good setup and I'm looking into ways to display my models at the moment.

Hey Adam. this is a great little painting video. I like that you cover all the bases for MESBG content. Do you have any ideas for a game tutorial such as how to play heroes or strategies for deployment etc.? I'm still learning the deeper aspects of the game and I am thirsty for any knowledge. Thanks for all that you've shared. I'm loving it!

Hey thanks Michael. Admittedly I’m fairly new to the competitive gaming scene. It might be an area I could cover in future content though.

Do you have some go-to colours that you pretty much always use with your Middle Earth painting? just starting to build my collection now

I like how you base colour and highlight a section before moving on, I've always done all the base layers first then shaded, then highlighted. I sometimes find I get bored following the same routine for painting so I might mix your approach in to spice it up :)

Hey I’m looking to start a Mordor army. What would you recommend as just some starting paints instead of full details as I’m planing on just mass painting, also what paints could you recommend instead of the red as I was wanting a more leather look like my Uruk-hai which is a brown

  • @dicedrinksanddadjokes

Hey man, Dryad Bark is a good dark earthy brown which works well for leathers as well as wood details like spears and shields. Gorthor brown to highlight. Then you could go for a more ochre/tan colour for variation, something like Steel Legion Drab with Zandri Dust as highlight. Black and greys like Eshin Grey and Dawnstone grey are fairly common too. Metalics with Leadbelcher. And washes for days! Agrax Earthshade and Nuln Oil.

Thanks dude, I prefer more “basic” as I’m not the best painter but my Uruk-hai Iv painted came out really good I think so ur video helps a lot for stating a new Mordor army. Thanks again. Also would you recommended I grab the battle host or just afew orcs to start because I can’t really decide

The Battlehost is a really good starting point. I gives you solid options with the wargs and orcs plus the witchking is a beast

Hey me again after purchasing the Mordor battle host but I’ve run into an issue where I can’t decide what to paint the skin. Because my Uruk-hai are brownish (like the film counterparts) but they don’t look amazing or nearly as detailed as the green flesh in this video so with my Mordor orcs I can’t decide if to paint them green or go with a darker/brownish skin. Obviously after watching this video like 8 times 😅 I know how to paint them green but how or what paints would you suggest for a brownish flesh (also I’m trying to get more detailed with my painting so give me all the paints and methods)

I’d start with a base of mournfang when 50/50 mix of mournfang & bugmans glow. Give it a wash with reikland fleshshade. Then highlight with pure bugmans. I’m planning on doing a video where I do a variety of orc flesh colours, bluey grey looks pretty cool on orcs.

Yes yes you did Iv just gone and watched that, and yeah you did just I might go with the first method you suggested to create a visible contrast with both army’s making it look like they are different breeds of orc maybe put some green ones in there as well to mix up the army

Increase your aperture. The models are so often way too out of focus, for that reason I have to give you a thumbs down. Shame, as they look like they're done really well.
