Follow along as I build my woodworking business from my moms basement, to my dads barn! My goal is to educate & entertain.
I build custom one of a kind furniture designed to last for generations. I teach you how to build the furniture I build. I own and operate a lumber business called Legacy Lumber.
Starting March 17th, I have started my daily vlog

what kind of vacuum pump are you using???
Any leaks? Or things you would have done differently?

That’s an old machine now
Black Locust glows in the dark under black light ❤
That wood has a cool little trick……. Black Locust glows under a black light…… Beautiful coloration ❤
Cool I did not know that
@@CanadianWoodworks Honey Locust also has glowing coloration 👍
That is the biggest Black Locust I ever seen ❤😂
If someone is making a Maloof, it's not the very first project, so not for a complete workshop virgin. You don't need to talk to people like they're idiots, who doesn't recognise the dangerous end of a hammer... 🙄
Hi, will this allow the legs to be removable?
Yes
I was expecting a DIY kink vacuum bed video. I'm still confused what this is
This is a vacuum bed for a cnc
I would love to have an idea of how much it would cost for a built like this?
Quick math..... for me it was right around 12k canadian
You do a wonderful job of showing details which, while nuances, are crucial to the success of the build. Would really like to see you go through the shaping process. Perhaps you already have - going to search now.
Thanks, I did have shaping videos but a lot of my channel got deleted!
Great video thanks for information..from Bahrain
Thanks and welcome
Great job,
Great video! Do they also make inserts like this that will install into metal as well to accept screw in table legs? I see wood ones everywhere but some tabletops are metal too!
My guess is yes but I don't know
@CanadianWoodworks Thank you forthe video. Can I skip the middle coarse disk and use the original extreme with original smooth only?
For sure I used the gray disc for the first 5-6 years. I did not know there was an orange one (-:
Any difference between Canadian walnut and American walnut ( other than origin 😂)
More polite (-:
@@CanadianWoodworks 😝
Super idea! I might even try that with my '97 mill.
Go for it!
3m 5200 would work great on those corners and seams.
Great video, thanks for sharing your process
Thanks for watching!
I will never understand why anyone would finish walnut in anything other than clear, natural, pure, etc. That’s the beauty of walnut. It requires no tinting to look it’s best.
Painted over the concrete that was slashed on the sides ???? I think this thing will leak.
Hope you welded the underside otherwise the square steel will rust out from the inside?
I would have not used bolts would have just welded it, that would have sufficed if welded properly.
I did't not like the idea of 1/4'' thick material being welded to the very thin material of the container which is about 14ga. Also figured it would be easier to change if I needed to. So far the bolting has had zero issues in regards to leaking or strength.
? On welds, did you weld under shallow end beams?
I did end up welding on the underside of the beams
Scotch pads eh? I'm assuming they are the non-abrasive type? Thank for the video!
Depends on your sanding level, if going to 220 I use maroon pads, 400 - 500 grit gray pads, any higher white pads ( no grit )
Nice video Paul. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
i have a project in mind to do a mall of joint, looking forward to it. What do you do about that huge crack in your stool at timestamp 40:30 ?
We just filled it with epoxy, no issues to this date with it.
Is it necessary to do both sides for say a kitchen island?
Hi, Yes you always want to finish both sides of any piece of wood, even if a side will not be seen.
Paul do you still make furniture or are just sawmilling now? I really enjoyed your channel before and I’m really missing your videos
Hi, Yes still doing furniture just not to the volume I did in the past. Have a set of 6 Maloof chairs, just started. Hope to make some content about them. Lumber business takes most of my time and well as other adventures.
Was für eine "Wahnsinnsmaschine", richtig..richtig cool!!!!!!!👍✌
Ich stimme voll und ganz zu, es ist ein Biest!
Nice to have you back, Paul! Keep these videos going.
Thanks
Could you pls compare the environmental impact of the three resins as well, pls?
Not good )-:
@CanadianWoodworks oh no! All three? I was hoping to try some crafts using resin, but only if there's a more environmentally friendly option available. Isn't Eco epoxy better for the environment? Also, isn't Epoxy toxic? I heard the fumes can be very harmful to one's health.
Just more of this video is good for me... it’s like a boost to go do some work in my 100 f degree shed... Here in ozz it’s summer dammmmm. Can’t wait till it cools down...
haha agree, we love using the machine and it's results
Glad you are back!
Cool Machine
cheers!
I have been missing slaberday Saturdays!
Welcome back! I have missed your videos. Hope everything is well in Canada.
All good here, thanks!
GENIUS! There is Nothing Greater then hatching your own invention...Carrying it out to fruition.. I mean its a brillant thought!.. Little risky in the beginning..You must have thought it over more then a few times... Not everyday you cut your saw mill in two ! I wonder if you asked woodmizer their thought?)) Basically is there any difference with the Wood mizer wide head and this??
I did not ask woodmizer....LOL. Yes I thought on this for a while before attempting. This was before many people had done this. I only found 2 images and no information on the interweb about this at the time. The one I would was welded solid.
Mine cuts wider (-:
Love the chair, love the break down of sanding and the at about 7min you said 50%of the sanding was done at 150g it big dots. Im always keen to jump up grits and call it
Experience gives to the understanding of when your ready to go up in grit, sanding is not just sanding. It's the final finish / shape, so learn as you go even from sanding and all your projects will have improvement in quality but also labor spent.
What is he best way to contact you about an order?
I guess no on here! (-: [email protected]
I use Designer Epoxy with degassing. Great results and costs less than your examples.
Yes, i see the moulder also cups the boards. Try again using dry lumber
This lumber was dried to 6%, I would never put green lumber through any of my machines. Will some boards still move, of course wood is natural we just do our best.
Is that your mom helping you??
Great grandma
Strangley did see this on a Tuesday
My plan worked!
Fantastic work!
Thank you! Cheers!
If i were you I'd would have used the tanking paste everywhere. Then paint over it... Also can you get CT1 or OB1 ( I think ) they are excellent in both sealing and bonding.... Excellent build though great effort and lot's of enjoyment I hope...
Why did you pick these three? What about MAS, Total Boat, Alumilite or Wisebond?
I guess because I'm in Canada and the ones you mentioned are not very available here. Things are different now but at the time.
How has the radio frequency kiln been working out for you? Do you thinks it better than an idry?
Idry is a "fake" vac kiln but it works from what i've seen on the internet. For me this Radio frequency vac kiln has been amazing and i'm 6+ years into using it with minor repair work. A lot of wood has gone through it!! I've wrecked some sure, but not really any more, always a learning curve.
Hi there, can you pls explain how you built in (and sealed!) the holes for the water access to and from the pump? Greetings from Tasmania!
Hi, the fittings I used from the pool store have rubber gaskets that make a water tight seal once the fitting is tightened up
