It's a shame that kids are less likely to pick up instruments now as the beginner grade guitars are so good it's getting hard to justify the big name brands.

Great price point and excellent video. One thing I don't understand about all these "budget" rounded "ball" stainless steel fretted guitars. Why can't they cut the frets to near edge of the fret board? The necks are computer routed so the width of the neck should be exact for each neck made. The same is true for this guitar if you go to their website and look at the closeup as they show "ball-end" frets. This guitar really looks outstanding for the price point, but if they would simple work this out they'd kick the final product to the next level. Have to wonder if all these makers buy the frets from an outside supplier with incorrect precut fret measurements.

To me the Peavey looks and sounds way better than the Fender. The blues Jr. sounds almost muffled or something. The Peavey sounds clear, articulate and present even with drive.

Here's a suggestion, why doesn't everyone just worry about their own guitar set-up and worry less about what some other person is doing. World would be a lot happier place if people would just attend to there own affairs.

Always love your videos Jack! Got a 5420t a couple days ago, in blue like the one in your video, love the tone and bigsby, I lowered the action to my liking and dig the feel better, so far only been playing it at home through Fender Deluxe Reverb, Fender Red Knob Champ 12 and my little BlackStar ID Core 10, it’s fun to play, and will test it out more in upcoming live shows to see how I bond with this big beast. My favorite tones is through a clean Fender tube amp, delay & reverb for a Surfy Rockabilly vibe. Pure and simple, then step on a Tube screamer pedal for some occasional dirtier leads. Happy 4th Everyone!

Add a boost pedal and the blues junior wins, you dont need fx loop and you dont need the extra 15 watts. Also, when something goes wrong you dont want to deal with that folded circuit board inside the peavey.

I own a Blues JR I/The first US-made model with that crappy hum noise when you dial in the reverb. The Bass and Mid knobs are very effective but the Treble kicks in not before 6-7.

I swapped my Blues Deluxe Reissue with a Roland Blues Cube. The taper of the Fender BDR is nonsense. I know you don't play that amp at home but even in a band it's so hard to adjust the right volume of that thing. And when it sounds good it is just too f.... loud. Too heavy, too loud and not able to sound good when loud - only when earbleeding loud. Nonsense.

Lovely pedal, i must confess im a stacker 🙊🙊🙊 it is a lot of fun to stack this pedal with others , boost mode seems not only to boost volume but to change eq and harmonics on a magic way. 🤗🤗

I use them as a mod platform. Have 2 which I changed a lot of parts on. The frets needed dressing and I polished them. I put in better tuners, wiring and pickups and brass saddles. Oh and electro socket output jack. One has tone Hatch pups in it thats the blonde and the Mary Kay has Seymour Duncan Antiquity pups. They punch way above the dollars invested...they both setup and intonate excellently.

I have a 90s Uk Guvnor, and i must say yours sounded better than mine (surely because of player fingers ) 😂🙊🙊. I liked it but was not at all impressed by its sound but i think it is right as you said they are classics and more collectible pedals , strange my Ehx Operation overlord sounded similar to my ears (the boost side , and with right amount of mix ) , i also have the Marshall Guvnor II Gv2 (very different tone to my ears but has it charm ,also i ve tried it at 18v🙊🙊 ) , Blues Breaker BB2 (really like this pedal 🤗 both modes boost and drive ) and the Vibratrem Vt1 (really not bad 😁, i used it to split signal towards 2 amps ,nice pedal ) . Great video as always 🙂👍👍

I had Crate combo amps starting out (yeah I’m getting old.) but around 2006, I found a coworker selling his 1994 TRRI for $800. Just for kicks, I offered him $550, and he took it! First time I plugged in my 2002 American Strat, I remember thinking, “Ah, there’s the tone!” Pure Yellowledbetter vibes!

I really dig overdriven Firebird tones in a MAJOR way. Great examples are stuff by .38 Special and this... kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZmWgpK6zmKi0dZs.htmlfeature=shared I HATE playing firebird's however. I really want to put together a custom Tele with Firebird pickups - anyone out there with experience doing this who can provide some tips in how to go about doing this to get as close to that classic Firebird tone with a Tele?

IF anybody has more Ovation tips please let me know thank you!

Is the only way to have the two Volume controls linked is to use a patch cord from the one channel to the other? I ask because some other 5E3 models I have seen seem to have the two Volumes in series stock without using a patch cord. Thanks in advance. very well done video. Phil
