I have seen one got arrested by 2 plain clothed police officers a couple of weeks ago. One even tried to shimmy through the same barrier machine that I was using to gain access to the tube system so I deliberately got my bag stuck in the barrier gates themselves that made her to do the rather embarrassing "walk back in shame"

If they buy a ticket at all, they buy a child's ticket for the shortest journey. On Thameslink, there are ways of boarding with no ticket. They go from London Bridge to West Hampstead, cross over and catch a train back to London Bridge.
