😆😆 Man I know what you mean! I promise I'm not trying to break my figures, though! But! I do mean to put them through their paces. I don't think a review is any place for kid gloves, and even though I don't want to break mine, I would rather it break for me than for you. Maybe I wasn't as careful as I could have been? Maybe mine were a little more faulty? Definitely I was getting a little hot, having so many issues with figures that I really wanted to love. But I have been collecting action figures for like 15 years now, so I promise I know what I'm doing. I'm definitely more gentle with my import figures than I am with my Marvel Legends, but like legends, the diamond stuff can be inconsistent. I have the new Captain America they put out, and I'm swapping parts with no issues all day! But the neck peg on Invincible just tore in half the second time I swapped it. I've never had that happen to a figure. And I am a super muscular steel erector, but still 🙃

Do you have these in hand and still think that? Because I think Mark is close, but he is a little off. The arms are too short. Probably Omni Man is my favorite. I think he looks way legit. And even though Mark and Allen's heads are tacked on, they look pretty nice on my shelf with the rest of the cast. Also, I have been reading those comics almost since the beginning, and it was my favorite title for years, so I really wanted these to be good. But I promise they are just mid. Even though I'm digging on the accessories. For sure Diamond can do good work, but I think these are far from their best. Sad. 😕

Coming to your video now after the Finale of X-Men 97 finished 2 weeks ago. These action figures are now selling higher than retail price. Some figures are rare, sold out and hard to find like Rogue and Wolverine. Honestly, these body molds and the details in these action figures are much better than previously released figures. I'm looking forward to the 3rd and 4th wave of these X-Men 97 waves

It's a part of life. I remember giving up all my old toy biz figures. But they went to a good place. The small scale are rad and still have so much potential if they would treat them like the Star Wars vintage collection stuff instead of whatever these weird limited little 4-inch figures are. Dude! These are so nice. The smirk on Cyclops face makes he look like he would be a goofy character. He’s generally pretty serious, so it seems off to me. Looney Tooney was a good description. 🤔 “Put together with a fruit snack.” 😂 Oh man. The side by side with the older Jean Grey figures, makes me realize how lucky we are now. That shinny blue is sweet! ✨ I can see you point on the neck, but it doesn’t stand out super crazy to me. Those ball joints on the wrist are near unforgivable at this point. At least they ball joints aren’t like the early un-posable McFarlane ball joints that would pop apart with even the slightest movement. For any figure around $100, I think a 3rd head should be standard, at minimum a wacky eye pose head. The articulation looks butter 🧈 and when put side by side in your comparison section, it really shines!!! Awesome review boss!!! 🤘

Thanks for being here, my friend! It sucks when you think you have to go all the way to Imports for someone willing to paint their figure properly! It really is a joy to pose, though. Like, it might cost three times the Marvel legends, but it's 10 times more fun to handle. I do think on artic it beats the Mafex comic SM (that body is years old now.) And you could totally use this as a comic version but it doesn't edge out the Sentinel SV Peter B as my favorite. 🤟

You mostly just fold the sides in, but it was kind of delicate so I took my level and squished that down to fold the sides over so it would crease in the right place.

I try not to bring too much real life drama into our escapism, but some things are so major they consume everything. Losing my mother last month, and my father last year has been absolutely devastating. I love those cats, and I'm crawling my way back to myself but it's like somebody smashed me with a giant brick and then was f****** grinding it back and forth on the concrete. But life is life, and I really appreciate you guys sticking around. The support is huge.

No matter where you are in the world, growing up involves a certain amount of conditioning that I feel it's important to try to undo as an adult. I think it's really important to figure out what kind of freak you really are, and devote your short time here to living that to the fullest. I'm checking around online and it looks like major retailers are sold out of the full wave but on Entertainment Earth you can get most of the individuals for regular price still. But it looks like Rogue and Wolverine are harder to find at the original price. Of course they're super popular right now, but often sites like EE and bbts will get more stock as time goes. But who knows?! The stores practically gave up on us. I hardly see any Marvel Legends on the shelves around Portland.

Right? What fresh hell? Are they brand new? Have you seen the Elevate figure stands? It's a different system where the foot slides into a thing. The space is a little small so a lot of stuff doesn't work, but like Marvel Legends and even those original BST Turtles fit right in. They are a little spendy, but it's a small company. Even though you might pay more for shipping. I appreciate you spotting that. As these do look so, so good! 😅 I've actually been trying to floor to ceiling with comic books on the floor, a shelf of trades on top of that, a shelf of in box on top of that and then four shelves of open figures in all their glory! I got one wall done and then life has just been a series of freaking tragedies. But I'm crawling back to life. I really appreciate the support, my dude! 🤙🍕💙

Yeah the knees and elbows do look crazy. For sure someone will give us a better version at some point. But I was just tripping the other day that I have them on the shelf representing for the modern comic turtles, right next to the classic Mirage and newer, beefier versions from NECA. @@toylips i wanted them to stand next to my other TMNT as well just for display comparison with the different generations of TMNT. If I come across them again I might just go for it, I like the sculpted details on the skin and everything. I could put a light color wash, and then make some knee pads and elbow pads. I'm checking around online and it looks like major retailers are sold out of the full wave but on Entertainment Earth you can get most of the individuals for regular price still. But it looks like Rogue and Wolverine are harder to find at the original price. Of course they're super popular right now, but often sites like EE and bbts will get more stock as time goes. But who knows?! The stores practically gave up on us. I hardly see any Marvel Legends on the shelves around Portland.

Dude I was just at target, and they have new Avengers ones. They look worse than ever. And they want freaking 13 bucks! On the end cap I got TVC Krrsantan for like $8.39.

Right? What fresh hell? Are they brand new? Have you seen the Elevate figure stands? It's a different system where the foot slides into a thing. The space is a little small so a lot of stuff doesn't work, but like Marvel Legends and even those original BST Turtles fit right in. They are a little spendy, but it's a small company. He's $80 on amiami so not as terrible price wise. But honestly with how perfect the aesthetic is in this line so far i think its worth getting them, especially if you're a big fan of the series. I missed out on sephiroth the first time around but I'm for sure getting the reissue once its announced.
Hey any way to save anything on these is welcome. I know for people who are less experienced the import side seems a little less clear, but it usually is cheaper overall. Even though you might pay more for shipping. I appreciate you spotting that. As these do look so, so good! And I did get a pre-order in for the Sephiroth when I got the Cloud, so maybe stay tuned and I'll have that? I think it said next January... 😬😬
@@toylips yeah getting them through import sites is the way to go sometimes. Saves you around $20 for most figures and sometimes more if you combine them. It’s crazy how much they hike the prices in some sites.
