I think it would make sense to put a dome on it to keep it contained, but could only imagine how much glass that would take. I would just think you would try and contain it.

To explain how the scanners still work despite elytra; the gates and wall create a perimeter that detects any foreign entities, even from the sky 🤓 maybe place lightning rods along the wall to act as aerial detectors

You need the diamonds and in a video a few days ago it was saying that they are going to be removing the Pop up shops from the shopping district and enforcing the rules of the permits as they do want everyone to be selling what the permits allow . Whenever someone turns on shaders I sigh as I play on Bedrock and it's infuriating that we're being kept waiting for shaders to be available. .! On Series X we were given false promises of better graphics 4 years ago with the release of the advert showing beautiful lighting effects on Renderdragon. .Mojang and Microsoft shouldn't of advertised it back then as they couldn't fill those promises.. They promise this year we will get Shaders.. I darn well hope so !

Fascinating to have confirmation that Iskall is, in fact, not human. Is it cyborgism through the bionic eye (which implies a very low barrier of Not Human triggering the bioscanner), or something bigger? Who can say.

Around 30:00 you asked for a botanical idea for your giant trees. I have one! In the phylum “Bryophyta” some plants use what is called Gemmae Cups for asëxual reproduction. (I don’t want the comment to be censored so I spelled it strange) The cups work by having water fall into the cup-which looks like your fan coral- and then the water splashes out the gametophytes and thus more plants. Big words but all it means is that the fan coral looks like an actual structure irl for plant reproduction. Awesome job with the terrain Ren! It looks great!😊

Every time I've heard you say "Frag" so far, I think of a grenade, which brings my mind to Call of Duty, and then makes me wonder what it'd be like if all the Hermits collectively played CoD: MW2 in a competitive setting.

Shelterus Fuzzicus The "fur" huddled atop the foliage of these trees is actually a huddled collection of tiny furry animals that cling in symbiosis to the upper most surfaces of foliage. Each tiny Shelterus Fuzzicus (or Shell-fuzz for short) that lives to adulthood finds an untapped leaf on the top of the canopy and embeds a tiny tube-like proboscis at the leaf's base, which it leaves there permanently like a maple syrup tap, and can drink from for nourishment for the rest of the season. Each adult only drinks sap from their own tap, which they identify by it's unique scent, while young fuzzlings are allowed to drink from any tap until they reach adulthood. Their nocturnal dance as they socialize and seek mating partners is easily mistaken for the fur simply blowing back and forth in the wind, as they move incredibly slowly, using very little energy. The infants, nearly microscopic and resembling dandelion tufts, float off with the tree's airborne seeds in the hope of landing on new treetop colonies, where they may grow up. Those that fail wind up being the early nourishment for the seeds that find new rich soil to sprout in, while those that succeed are communally raised by the previous generation at the new tree, and eventually find their own leaf at the top of that canopy to tap. The benefits of the shell-fuzz to the trees they "infest" are so essential that it is almost certain the species have co-evolved: - The Fuzzlings actually increase the wind-buoyancy of the seeds, making them far more likely to travel a significant enough distance to find a place where they might flourish. - The lacy covering of the adult's fur shades the tree's foliage from the most intense and direct rays of the lethal noon-day sun, which would otherwise scorch it's fragile leaves and damage it, especially during the summer. By only occupying the top, the Shell-fuzzies allow the tree to fully benefit from the substantially more diffused morning and evening sunlight. - The generational die-off of elders fall to the trees roots, where they are easily broken down by the sulfuric acid in the soil, and replenish a significant amount of the nutrients they leached from the tree, giving themselves back to nourish their home, which will in-turn nourish their successors. This story idea was fully inspired by Bart Torgal's line from Subnautica "Co-evolution gives me the FUZZIES!"

Hey, my sister and I are big fans of hermitcraft and we even have a spreadsheet to follow the videos of all the hermitcrafts! - because organization is everything :) But today we want to share something sad and ask you to give visibility to it, to encourage people to donate. The South of Brazil is suffering from a very big climate tragedy, many cities were completely taken over by the force of the waters that continue to advance and flood houses, many people lost everything and we are even running out of drinking water, there are still people stranded, the number of deaths and missing people also continues to increase. I wanted to ask if you could also share this information with the other hermits because you have a lot of fans, to encourage people to donate, each dollar is equivalent to 5 reais here in Brazil, any donation is very welcome in the south of Brazil.

i have no idea the redstone behind this, but is there a way to have tripwires trigger a note block? or maybe some of those skull sensor things? if you’re able to sneak those in at the BS-1 entrance gates to make a scanning noise, that might add some cool immersion!! i mean any kind of additional note block redstone shenanigans would add some great immersion to this biome. so cool seeing this come together!!!

So the mention of the drip one made me think of something. A full bees’ nest or hive drips honey. Couldn’t you get some full bee homes and embed them in the center of those trees for actual drippage?

when it comes to the wall, i think it could be fun to think that lore wise, gigacorp wanted research on the flora and fauna of this hostile alien planet, (likely as they see some sort of profit motive) but the researchers sent to live there kept couldn't stay for long periods of time. so they had to essentially harvest a section of the planet and implant it as a research facility on a more hospitable one. that way, any researchers could leave the biome temporarily if it was negatively affecting their vitals. it's encased by the wall and a forcefield of sorts which keeps all the planet's atmosphere inside. i like to imagine that on the alien planet, there are a couple chunks of this planet's atmosphere and biome instead in the exact same shape, like they just swapped them out!

Hi Ren, base looking amazing. I think you could add some ambience to your little biome. If you make some small hidden lava lakes underneath the sulfur pools, it will sounds like its bobbling with sulfur. Near the trees you could hide a sniffer, making it sound like the trees creak in the wind. Near your factories you could hide various redstone components randomly triggering to simulate working machinery.

I think you should have some "leaks" where the custom biome is escaping the wall... or the reverse, where the normal minecraft biome is encroaching on the custom one. Then you have a purpose of the wall where it interacts with the other hermits, it is protecting the environment from contamination.

Love the new ideas for the design of the base. I've used the lichen in similar gradient palettes and I really like what it does for diorite as part of a stone gradient. Also loving the addition of the warped grass! Perfect for the alien landscape! I wonder if the vibrant, low growing grass is toxic to local fauna?
