The reason you hear drums playing while John Stamos is standing is the Beach Boys implement two drummers, you can see the other drummer to the right (when looking toward the stage you can see the 2nd drum set). I don't think many of the other performers with them work with them anymore, their current 2024 tour is absolutely top notch! Wow, I am late to this jewel of a video. I’m sure others have alerted you to this, but just in case, McGrath, Stamos, and Love made a new video of Do It Again in 2017? There’s lots of pointing at Mike Love, mugging for the camera and Mike Love is wearing a cap that says Mike Love. When I’m feeling bad about myself, I watch this and feel so much better. If you can find it, there’s a video from the 60s/70s of Mike Love applying sunscreen at a swimming hole in Big Sur, no hat. It is spectacular. If you can’t find it (I couldn’t, maybe I dreamed it), listen to California Saga (Beaks of Eagles) off The Beach Boys’ Holland record, and you’ll hear the lovely sounds of Mike Love waxing poetically about Big Sur, Eagles and the benefits of sunscreen. It’s like the sunscreen video without moving pictures. Lastly, find solace in knowing that The Beach Boys are 500 percent worse than the 2017 video you posted. Oddly, the cracker audience still looks the same, in their American swag, Tommy Bahama shirts, and walkers, and even though Love has hired 4 guitarists and rarely sings, and pretty much has handed over the keys to John Stamos, who struts around the stage in his fancy white suit and gold 335, takes over drums for a few songs and performs a drum solo and changes costumes 3x, The Beach Boys are more a tribute band of a tribute band of a tribute band of The Beach Boys. The only thing that can save them is if ol’ left-ear Tr*mp (too soon?) takes over for Love on vocals. Nothing much will change, but they’ll be a little worse and that’s a win for The Beach Boys.
