    Memorization my ass, since when a human memorized a chess game from the opening to the endgame? Isn't the middlegame the part where players go 'out of book' and then start being creative? I'm a Fischer fan but that interview was the times he was crazy after being jailed in Japan

    that quote is retarded. mikhail botvinnik became world champion by getting his phd in electrical engineering. according to his biography, his electrical engineering gave him insights about how to analyze chess and how to think about it, how to train properly, etc. and that is not too unusual when talking about good players that are not world champions

    Opening theory didn’t ruin chess, it just changed who is good at it. It is kind of like social media. Social media didn’t ruin society, it just changed who was being heard. It is called evolution. Once the good guys learn the new tools it will evolve back to sanity.

    Charlie Munger delivers a scathing critique of fake gurus for a continuous five-minute duration. He elucidates on the prevalence of scams in the modern era and the perils associated with succumbing to them. Many individuals fall prey to purchasing online courses and purportedly "exceptional" books (offered for the cost of shipping only) that promise riches through stock trading and boast of generating 300% returns seemingly out of thin air. Mr. Munger denounces this trend as incredibly foolish and absurd. This enlightening discourse was delivered during the Daily Journal Annual Meeting in 2019. Andrew Tate IQ is around 100 Andrew Tate doesn't read any books Andrew Tate is a fraud Andrew Tate is a kickboxing webcam porn pimp.

    Ppl who says Piers did bad has to realize its supposed to be a speed chess and he’s on air at the same time. Beginner player would do just as bad as Piers, or worse. And Andrew did good. He may actually be great but as his opponent is just a beginner, he did good.

    All the historical chess legends from America always have some crazy lore and personality. We had Paul Morphy, Bobby Fischer, and possibly Nakamura.

  • @peakprofitclub

    What Morphy said is that if you want to get great results in chess you only play chess all the time and nothing else. That's why waste of life.

  • @GoodKnightChess
    @GoodKnightChess15 күн бұрын

    That'd mean every other sport is a waste of life.

    It is if you do 99% of your time only one thing and don't experience the whole spectrum of life. This was his point. He explicitly said "this is sad". To play a common game you need only a bit practice but to play well it needs tremendous more dedication

    Its interesting how Magnus feels exactly the same way and tries all kinds of whacky antics to get out of theory. His promotion of Fischer Random is a testament of greatness of Fischer who witnessed the same problem in its early stages.
