You saved my life with this, man. I had given up on getting this starter out, which meant losing my job, being out on the street, turning to crime, prostitution, and the brief respite offered by drugs. You really helped me out. That sounds like a joke, but that's the reality of being in a tough spot with no options.

caution! Don't buy from rock auto. The right part number with the correct picture came in as a drum instead of a rotor for the rear and they have no way of helping you. Stuck for 2 freights now. coming and going. Now I know why the price was so good

Just my luck. Took my 2004 P32 axle out and the lock nut is a ratchetting lock nut. Ever see one of them. I think it preloads at 50 ft lbs and then release and snug up to zero lbs. Any information would be appreciated. Have nice day.

You don’t have to go through all that. Jack it up, remove plate with 4 bolts, remove fresh air intake tube, starter 2 bolts and remove. No cooling hose, no intake plenum, no fan assembly, no throttle body removals.

I used my Infina Ray thermal camera mounted on a pair of VR googles for under 350 bucks including the camera. I can see over 500yards as clear as day, the simple vr googles allow me to pop my phone in the googles. The whole unit is actually much smaller then these box goggles.

I have an ‘88 super chief 31QR and was wondering if a 4 ton hydraulic jack would be enough to jack up a corner at a time to put it on stands? Otherwise the only other way I can think to lift it is cutting a 2x12 into 12x12 squares nailing a bunch together so I can use a 10 ton bottle jack to lift up an axle at a time. Currently it’s a no crank, I just replaced the continuous duty solenoid and I hav rust to see if that fixed the no start but it sat for a while and it might have electrical damage from rodents In the back so I’m not certain the levelers will work.

Great presentation thank you. I'm not sure if my starter is the culprit or my battery. I trickle-charged battery all night (will test it later with voltage meter) but it didn't make a difference when I tried starting the car. It almost feels like the battery is weak, but not 100% sure. My question is how do you know the starter is bad vs the battery or the alternator? When I push the starter button it struggles to turn over, (the cranking is very labored) but it starts. I'm having trouble understanding what it really is. I've never had a starter go bad so I don't know what the symptoms are. Labored starting or turning over is basically the deal. Thanks for any input on this. I'm trying to avoid spending money not needed by understanding the logic behind the process.
