This would have been flawless in my eyes...if only you showed the motor and the arm and how it swung, rocking the chair. THEN show the chair covered. I really wanted to see that arm and how it swung!

Completely new at this and just got my monster pack and tools from Home Depot. You mentioned be careful not to get the polarity backwards. How do I know i am doing it the correct way with the wires?

This project was awesome, easy to build and fun as well. However, after one night of rocking the chair, the gears on the shaft coming out from the motor seemed to have striped a little and the arm that rocks the chair also striped. So, now I don't know how to get it to work again because the shaft coming out from the motor just turns inside the arm and it goes nowhere. Has that happened to anyone else and if so, how did you fix it? ... My thoughts are to extend the shaft from the motor to another gear or REALLY tighten the bolt from the arm to the shaft. Any suggestions would be appreciated ! I'm an electronic geek, when it comes to mechanics, I struggle!

I hate that you are having problems. Mine is still going strong. Maybe you can use some JB Weld or 2 part epoxy to fix it?

Niiice project!! Thanks for the video. I'm just wondering whether it has enough power to rock the chair with a real person sitting on it. Have you ever tried?

I’m sitting here rocking my sleeping baby for 2 hrs and wishing they sold a motor to automate it! 😂 found this video but I’ll have to see how to upsize the motor. Then bring it to sharks for funding! Nothing on market yet!

What size lock not did you use to attach the link arm to the motor? Mine didn’t come with one.

I think it was a 1/4 - 20 but I'm not 100% sure. My daughter decided to get married on October 30th this year so not much halloween decorating this year. Hope you got it working. Sorry for the slow reply.

Any thoughts for adding an intermittent circuit, so it rocks at random intervals, and for random durations?

That would be very cool. You could use a one of those digital plug timers like people use to control lights, etc.
