Hello, do you understand Veronese? And how much does it differ from Italian ?
im excited to study it
Great to see you on Joy of Languages!
Grazie, Christine! :)
I'm curious if while learning it, have you found any help from knowing Italian. Personally, I think they are much more related than people think, for example, I am learning Italian at the moment, and due to the similarities it has to Romanian it's much easier to learn it than other languages (here I am speaking primarily about German, which I am also trying to learn for some time now) and even other Romance languages such as French for example (which I have also "studied" for some time, but was a much more difficult process than learning Italian).
I love you so much❤
Watching your video this morning Stefano made this idea/ analogy come to mind. When things are not going well could be expressed as trying to push two north magnet ends together. Try as you may, it just doesn't click but when things do fall into place is when the south and north crash together !
Mille grazie Stefano! Do you have a recommendation of good quality resources to start learning Finnish?
Stefano, are you still active in Italki?
I just saw you for the first time on Davide's channel. I couldn't figure out if you were an English guy with perfect Italian or vice-versa. Now I know.
What do you recommend to do if I have a beginner resource with text + audio? Should I try to read first, then listen or the other way around? Or something else entirely?
Your pronounciation is absolutely spot on. This is something many foreigners don't ever get right, even if their grammar is correct.
good
The language is great, but no the Finns. That's a different story.
Puhut hienosti suomea!
Hi Stefano! I was curious why you haven't learned Russian (yet?). Is there a specific reason? What do you think about the Russian language in general?
It must be pretty cool to see a foreigner speak your native language when most of the world doesn't know very much about it or Finland as a country, when it can be a very difficult language to learn, and when it has nowhere near the number of speakers, native and non-native combined as, say, Spanish.
Hello from Russia. In such funny times as today, it is especially interesting to learn about the life of people in Finland. And at the same time, I want to attract interest in the history of this country, since I collect coins of the Principality of Finland, when the country was part of the Russian Empire until 1917. I will be glad to hear your opinions under my new video on this topic, and I would like to find like-minded people on the topic from Finland, to see the antique shops of this country. I will be glad!
My suspicion is, or somewhat "obvious", jääkiekkoluistimet becoming hokkarit, the community adopted the english word hockey and then "made it Finnish" somewhat. Futis, sounds like it's coming from football :D
Very good advice! I'll accept to be imperfect learning my sixth language! ❤
Great to hear this was useful! All the best going forward!
I have also noticed that the italian language is the only one with the verb essere ( to be), which uses the auxiliary verb essere, exemple io sono stato. While the french language with the verb être (to be) uses the auxiliary verb avoir (to have).
Great point, Thomas, thanks for the comment!
never mentioned that written is like spoken
immediately, not finnish speaker. Roman Schatz have written many books in finnish and lived here 30-40 years. Still you can hear...nah not finnish.
Ciao Stefano! I found your channel here totally by accident, what a positive and good-energy-transmitter you are! :) I've been learning Spanish for almost 4 months now, what a crazy journey - as I communicate quite well in Italian I was imagining it would be a piece of cake, and in fact I am confused with vocabulary and pronunciation as I'd never expected ;) Grazie per tutti i consigli che mi sembrano cosi' familiari, sebbene sia molto utile ascoltarli di nuovo e non preoccuparmi di piu' se l'pprendimento ogni tanto rallenta un po' oppure non noto i progressi abbastanza soddisfacenti...

Hammer Aussprache!!
Your English mistakes are mistakes made by native speakers. I'd regard your proficiency as top notch. Who cares about accent... you're understandable and fluent, so it doesn't matter that much.
I have started italian as my new language
Great choice! Heheh :) A big "grazie" for watching and leaving a comment!
Complimenti caro amico!! Sei bravo!!
Felicitaciones Stefanno!! Eres mejor de lo que pensaba!!
Hyvin vedät . Lisää stuffia kehiin.
Oh, that video with Canadian guy. Hard To believe, no way after A week? No
It's not easy but I'll try to restart learning Korean.
That's great, sometimes we just need to try and start again from scratch, and the second time it goes better than the first one :) Good luck with your Korean!
@@linguaEpassione მადლობა :) I'll do my best and will follow your advice, it's really overwhelming all the sources and sites at once :). And good luck with your new language learning, too.
Hi Stefano! Wow, excellent examples! You master Finnish very well. As a native Finn, I'm really impressed! Here are some Finnish “tongue twisters”, that even some native Finns find difficult. 1) As far as I know, the longest Finnish word: “Epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydellänsäkään”. 2) Yksikseskös yskiskelet, itsekseskös itkeskelet? Take a challenge!
My new language for 2024 is Italian. I just love the sound of it. Augurami buona fortuna!
Buona fortuna, Philip!
Toate cele bune!
Grazie tante, Stefanotto 😜
Ciao Stefano, I like the idea of taking loud to myself, I used to do it a lot while learning languages at school. I am curious, how many and what languages do you know at such a level that you can communicate freely? Cheers, Agata
Ciao and thanks a bunch for your comment! I can communicate in 10 languages and I'm at (constant) beginner level in at least 2 more - you can see which languages these are by taking a look at the little flags on my channel banner (they are in order of proficiency btw haha :D )
Then Polish might be still on your list 😅. Good luck with it 😆
