fishinginbangkok. Fishing in Thailand Bangkok

Fishinginbangkok. Welcome to the channel, my aim with this channel is to show you around the fishing venues available in and around Bangkok. There are many lakes that are well known and publicized to foreigners in Thailand but there are also many lakes that are less well known and deserve some recognition. Often these lesser known lakes are full of interesting fish and are much cheaper for a day than the well-known venues. I hope to share with you my fishing trips to all the venues I visit and include information about prices, equipment available, rigs, bait and of course the fish. So, if you’re interested in fishing in Thailand please join me as I travel around Bangkok and the surrounding areas.

    yes your handy will be the color of the braid the first time out but over all JOF is one of the better braids. I tend to use Jof, Kastking 4 or 8 depending on the set up and the Manster if i want something very soft like on my baitcaster for throwing lures. they are cheap and strong. I don't doubt that some of these higher end braids are better but are they that much better to justify the extra cost and i can change out the china braid like 3-4 times for the same cost as the high end braid. Check out The Line Laboratory on youtube. he tests a lot of braids and is doing a gr8 job at it. very informative.

  • @Fishinginbangkok
    @Fishinginbangkok28 күн бұрын

    There a gr8 real. Only potential downside. would be the line capacity if you fished at Bungsamran as the lake is huge, if you hooked it to something big it could spool you. but I have fished at Bungsamran using a 8000-OC loaded with 60Lb braid and caught a 107lb Mekong and it handled it just fine. Other than that most fishing lakes are no a problem as they are much smaller so the fish will just run out of runway. .

    @@Fishinginbangkok thanks for the advice. Also Can you tell me where in Bangkok I can buy a decent powerful rod, Ideally I would like something that is either telescopic or something that packs down in 4/5 sections for travelling with backpack? Not sure if something like that exists but any info would be much appreciated.

  • @Fishinginbangkok
    @Fishinginbangkok27 күн бұрын

    @@rossmaxwell7737 telescopic or 3-4 section travel rods are not really a thing in Thailand. especially if you want something strong enough to handle a decent size Siamese or Mekong. you can buy a decent 2 section rod from most tackle shops for 1500-2500B. you can pay a lot more but 1500-2500 will get you a plenty good enough rod and you can find 2 section rods everywhere. most Thai rods are around 6-9ft long. or alternatively bring your own real loaded with good line and rent the rod from the lake. the reel is the more important part of the set up and easer to transport.

    The correct name is bing pla bik which means pla bik is a type of cat fish and bing means fishing lake.

  • @Fishinginbangkok
    @Fishinginbangkok3 ай бұрын

    Let’s not kid ourselves the correct spelling would be บึงปลาบึก you can only ever accurately spell any word in Thai using the Thai language. Out of all the ways I have seen westerners / foreigners transliterate Thai in to English I have never seen Lake บึง written as Bing. A much closer transliteration would be Bung. For the ปลา or fish part of the name there is debate over if B or P best represents the ป consonants in Thai language. Both are used but really once you read Thai you will see that English doesn't have a consonant that can accurately represents the ป in Thai language. This is like several other vowels and consonants the Thai language has. The best 3 I can think of would be the ต wrote as a T or D. The ก that is always wrote as K when it’s only a K at the end of the word and often would be better represented as a G and the อ that really can’t be represented as anything in English. So Plar or Blar would both be acceptable. Lastly the end of the name บึก for Mekong catfish a better representation for the purpose of transliteration would be Buk and not Bik. Remembering this is all trying to transliterate Thai into English and while for a limited number of vowels and consonants this can be used with reasonable accuracy for the most part the only way to accurately pronounce Thai is to learn to read and wright the Thai language.
