Fishing in Thailand from a raft for 2 nights at the khao laem National Park เขื่อนเขาแหลม

Спорт

I set out with Jon B for an 8-day fishing trip to the khao laem National Park เขื่อนเขาแหลม. In this video we set up for the last 2 nights on a raft at the south of the lake where we were fishing for the barb and Carp species using bread mix ram. The nice thing about this raft is they can make and deliver you food at a very good price, so you don’t need to be so self-reliant. We did take a bit of food with us but mostly used this service and that saved a lot of time and messing around. The food was also good so a bonus there. If you are considering visiting this raft, they have 7 rafts here all for rent so look at the Facebook page below to see what raft you fancy. We rented the smaller raft as there was only 2 of us but there is a VIP raft that looks very big and new, but this is fully booked way into the future so if you’re looking to get that raft book early. Advice on the little carpark they have where the boat comes to collect you. The road and carpark is a dirt track so a car with decent ground clearance would be good. My car is a Mazda 2 so we decided to leave that at the concreate carpark down the road as I was concerned it would bottom out on the track or get stuck if it rained a lot
We got a good few fish during our time on the raft, but the star of the show was the 2 Hampala barb Jon managed. We suspect there is a lot of predators hanging around the raft as we had a few smaller fish cut in ½ as well as a few follows as we were bringing in the feeders with fish hooked up.
Hopefully you have enjoyed watching the videos as much as we did making them. will be back to Khao Laem soon and hopefully try another raft and get a little further up the river this time around.

Love those small fish you had from the start, seen them landed in the ressi near Rayong and we had them on the river in Kanchanaburi. Lovely looking fish. I believe ou looked them up and they were a type of Minnow?

Looks amazing will look into it when I'm next over. Regarding the boats for hire are they go it alone or do they come with a guide ?

From what I understand that's with a boat man only. I am lucky to go with Jon and use his knowledge and Boat men so you have a good chance. You need a boat man that is well aware of the area and has eyes like a hawk to help you out. If your heading up and fancy a day on the boat contact Jon. he is not out to rip people off he just wants to cover his costs and share his knowledge. He will introduce you to some good contacts and then you are free to do as you please.
