The swim jig is so underrated when it comes to bass in the grass. I primarily use it in shallow weedy bays where bluegill are the main food source. It typically produces the biggest bass as compared to other lures used in weeds

What's a good slip bobber not to use so it doesn't get caught in the reel all the time when you cast?.. mine gets caught a lot of times even if I trim the tags.. any suggestions?

Try using the rubber bobber stops. Or try a rod specifically designed for slip bobbering. 2B fishing makes an amazing slip bobber rod.

Rubber works decent, I still use string more, try different brand stops, pull it good and tight. I use a razor blade to cut the tails flush, same way I join my braid and leader.

Ive got some pencil thin bobbers that they use over in Europe for match fishing Thank goodness we can still use big floats here. Never thought about using tungsten and large bobbers though. I mostly use bobbers for catfishing now

I only use light power and medium light power rods for all my walleye fishing. They range in length from 6' 4" to 7' from moderate to xtra fast action. I really like the St. Croix Eyecon light power 7' spinning rod paired with the Abu Garcia Revo Rocket size 20 spinning reel.

The water level is wayyy up into the trees now! Long line trolling the shallows with a crankbait is no longer the tactic since the shallows are now 20ft deep and trolling between the trees will be a disaster. Should i jig in the trees now?? I like that the crankbaits hammer the walleye but also absolute total tank smallmouth and bigger rainbows will hit it too. Not many keeper walleye in that lake so i like to pick up a few Rainbows and smallies for dinner while im at it and theyre the better fight. (Yes i LOVE to eat smallmouth!)

An older an inexperienced lady was trying to back into the dock to retrieve her boat with her husband in it. I could see she was frustrated. I offered to do it for her and she snapped at me saying I was just impatient and have to wait. After a few more of her failed attempts I tried another tact. I told her I was a truck driver and trained others to put there hand on the bottom of the wheel and which ever way she gently turned the wheel, the trailer would move accordingly. Boom, she became pretty good pretty fast and her frustration melted away. She thanked me after she got the boat loaded.
