What a Pity that the (most of ) the Russian people still «lives» under such a human hostility environment as the Russian system. You can trace that censorship and society drenched in lies and manipulation hundreds of years back in history. Tsars, Bolsheviks and the Tsar of today use the same methods to suppress their own people. What a truly force of enlightenment, solidarity and love The Beatles and other artist played for people around the world; censorship, lies and manipulation is a dark universal force, witch operate all over the world. "Give peace a change", yes of course, you have to add «fight the power» as well. Regards from Norway

Great job putting this documentary series together. Filled in many unknowns. We all know there is a very special place in Hell for Chapman.

So picture this: It is 1964, and for Christmas in '63 I received a kids record player. My oldest sister brings home Meet the Beatles. I play it when she is not around, as I totally worship her, and before long, I am hooked! Have been a Beatles fan and a music fan, ever since.

Viva John Lennon forever.

My mother was mopping the floor when the news came over this big victor radio we had at the time. She gasped, said "Oh my God" and stopped mopping, and I asked what was wrong. My mother never cried and was a stoic type of person, but she said, shocked,"John Lennon was killed" and just stood here, kind of stunned. I didn't know who he was, but her emotional reaction startled me. She talked about the Beatles and told me that when she was 16, she had worn out her Sgt. Pepper album, she played it so much. I have been a Beatles fan ever since, found them absolutely fascinating when I was a teen.John in particular was a very complex, fascinating person. How sad that he died so violently. I feel for Yoko, that had to have permanently traumatized her.

I think the song 'God' is so misunderstood. From what I understand, Lennon no longer believed in the myth of these very worshipped people. I think he had experienced how people perceived him and The Beatles, how they worshipped them. But he realized that what they worshipped wasn´t reality, it was an image, a story, a myth. Lennon had the bravery and integrity to challenge that perception of himself and others. So when he´s saying he no longer believes in Beatles, Elvis, Dylan, Jesus etc., I don´t see it as an attack on them, he´s just exposing that what you really worship is the myth, the actual person the myth is attached to is something else.

The production on this album still sounds incredible. Throughout the tracks, Klaus and Ringo really make a formidable team. Klaus' unfussy playing really allows Ringo time to shine.

Looking back it's so sad but he really needed to have more security around him because he was one of the most biggest names in the last century, Its sad he wanted to not be secluded with no access to everyday people and just try to live as normal as possible but at the end of the day he was a huge name in world culture it only takes one weirdo and that's it this scumbag wanted fame and sadly he got it that's the worst thing about all this Rip John lennon

I was watching a late night rerun of MASH when they scrolled the news across the bottom of the screen that he'd been shot. Found out a bit later that it was fatal. Very surreal. I was only a few miles away in Queens. Worst feeling I had since the Who concert tragedy in Cincinnati the year before.

Please read this. Hoover had a THING about John Lennon, but Hoover died in 1972. Other people at the CIA and FBI also had a thing about Lennon. At the time, it was stated that Mark David Chapman, told police that The Catcher in The Rye told him to shoot John Lennon. In 1980, I was 21 years old, and my grandmother had a SIGNED copy of J.D. Salinger's "Catcher in The Rye". Mr. Salinger was a long time friend of my CIA family. He was the founder of CIC (Counter Intelligence Corp) recruited by my grandfather William S. Paley, Google and read about both men. As I later found out, this book and others Salinger wrote had MESSAGES in the print (microdots that you can't see) to tell other operatives to kill. These are true words I speak, even though the CIA rectorus holes don't like it, come an get me.....Lennon's widow may know this, but would never speak it PUBLICLY, but I will. Bothe Paley and Salinger put their BACK UP RECORDS in microdots in their books...there I have said my peace...
