The Day John Lennon Died Part 2/3

Музыка

On December 8 1980 the news that John Lennon had been shot dead caused shock waves around the world. The Day John Lennon Died is a brand new documentary for ITV1 that commemorates the 30th anniversary of the former Beatle's death by revisiting the key moments of that fateful day.The film retraces John's steps on the day leading up to his murder through the strikingly vivid recollections of those who came into contact with him. It features often emotional interviews with key figures, from wife Yoko Ono Lennon recalling her final moments with her husband, and fan Paul Goresh who was to take the famous photograph of John with his killer, Mark Chapman, to the radio host to whom he gave his last interview, the record producer who recorded John's final piece of music with him on the day,,and the doctor who battled to save his life.

Ironic, that John's considerate enough to share a moment of his time, a few words, and an autograph, with a total stranger, only to promptly be shot in the back by that same person.

It pisses me off how in documentary's like this that they don't mention May Pang at all. She was with John during that "lost weekend" and they loved it each other so to see that people try and pretend that their relationship was nothing, annoys me greatly.

Ann Darnell ......I strongly suggest you read more than one “account” of John, he was a complex man. I agree with @Andrew anyway, John’s private life had/has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else. He made music for us, left a wonderful musical legacy and that’s what I love/d about John. His personal affairs were *never* anybody else’s business and I (for one) am really tired of all the negativity shown a man we lost in such a cruel and pointless fashion almost 40 years ago.

It’s a doctor’s job to do whatever is humanly possibly for *every* patient (regardless of status) you’re “putting words in the doctor’s mouth” with that statement. Doctor’s are only human after all and I imagine the doctor tending to John was as shocked as the rest of us with John’s murder. His wording is unfortunately being taken out of context.

I don’t think it’s just gun laws though. Although back then I have heard it was easier to purchase a firearm and have open/concealed carry it in many different states. This is Murica after all. It took a long time to ban smoking indoors or near schools/hospitals and regulate gun ownership. It is also the beacon of light from mental health services (and I will accredit even abortion stopping unwanted children who would have been mistreated/abused if born) that has shaped a new generation. While we still have some massive issues with gun violence, I think there has been less psychopathic behavior in a violent or disastrous manner. Instead today you are more likely to find those same psychopathic behaviors on trying to love, defend, or interact/get close with celebrities or their favourite artist. I would say just look at the interview with the murderer of John Lennon and he tells the events like it was Yesterday. As well as keeping a calm demeanor while describing this self fulfilling prophecy. He says and I quote as I have probably been haunted hearing his side of this story but claims that John after signing his copy of Double Fantasy, asked “Is there anything I could do for you?” -which is reasoned as if John knew he was looking at the man that was going to kill him. If this is the true account of what happened before he died I have to say that in a sane world like the one we keep trying to steer towards often (while still retaining our human condition) I hope at least we by this age producing less of these murderous sociopathic types that actively prey upon and be extremely violent towards others.

It’s true John wasn’t around as much as he’d have liked to have been but for goodness sake, those young men were in the grip of “Beatlemania”, everything they did was scrutinised by the world, it was a crazy time and not exactly easy for *any* of them. Regardless, it’s a documented fact that John and Julian were seeing far more of each other and were planning a holiday together when John was killed. You’re only repeating things you’ve heard, none of us was there. Incidentally, it’s quite untrue to say John *ever* “disowned” Julian, total exaggeration of a fabrication.

Imagine what John would be doing today for music and movies. He was a great man a man who wanted peace in the world. He had amazing dreams and thoughts for the world. You know the way he was doing his life I could picture him being president today. He would of done amazing things for the country. I truly hope that when he passed away that his soul was blessed by God right away. John did not deserve to die exspelly like that... May he always rest in peace..

This terrible tradgedy still moves me to tears, for such a peaceful and happy John at this stage in his life to be stalked by that evil psychopath amd murdered so violently is beyond beleivable to many of those who knew and loved John. Sadly, Dear Yoko was there when it happend I cannot imagine how she fel or coped with such a loss of her soulmate and friend and father to Sean his name sake (Sean is the irish name for John). and Julian. John and his family deserved to live in peace and happiness more than anyone.. We have missed out on the life of John and Yoko in their lives and the music that John would have given to the world. John Lennon will go down in our history books along with Paul, George and Ringo as the most famous band ever in the world. Lennon and MaCartney should be taught in schools that they were the most prolific song writers and composers of the modern times. Unsurpassed by any other group. Fame didn't matter to John especially at this time in his life. Rest in Peace John you are still loved adored and missed by millions of people around the world. My heart has a missing piece that is with you. From me to You. ALL WE NEED IS LOVE!.

Right on -- at first, (as a kid) I was like - 'huh?', but then it was: He's John Lennon, there has to be a good reason. I read a little of her writing; that made me respect - not like or dislike - her. It was so obvious that she meant the world to him, and vice versa. We never owned him. & isn't that the point?

John said don't forget to get ur book...did you get ur album signed?? Paul said he'll get it tomorrow..ill get my book before I leave..why would john say that?? Surely John would of known if he signed his album..or not...am I reading that wrong?? And for Paul to have seen Lennon earlier, just the way it sounds he told Paul I'll sign urbook this afternoon,..so why did Paul not stay with John?? How did he talk to him if he did,? If he had access to John why did he have to go back outside and wait?? I'm confused about That part.... Know what I mean?

“I told myself: 'I am surrounded by unknown things.' I imagined man without ears, suspecting the existence of sound as we suspect so many hidden mysteries, man noting acoustic phenomena whose nature and provenance he cannot determine. And I grew afraid of everything around me - afraid of the air, afraid of the night. From the moment we can know almost nothing, and from the moment that everything is limitless, what remains? Does emptiness actually not exist? What does exist in this apparent emptiness?” ― Guy de Maupassant

December 8, 1980 by Mark R. Elsis "I am going into an unknown future, but I'm still all here, and still while there's life, there's hope." John Lennon, December 8, 1980 John Lennon was the greatest singer-songwriter and the most influential political artist of the twentieth century. He was assassinated on Monday, December 8, 1980, walking into the Dakota, his home on the upper West side of Manhattan, New York City. In mid-November of 1980, I told my closest friends, John Lennon was about to be assassinated. I told them the powers that be were going to blame it on a lone crazy deranged fan, and that this person would never have a trial. I don't know how I knew all of this would come to be, except to say that besides my parents, John Lennon, someone whom I had never met, was the most significant person in my life. Perhaps because of my lifelong adoration, I was tapped into a precognitive form of what Dr. Rupert Sheldrake postulated in his theory, Morphic Resonance. I was driving my taxi in Manhattan on that beautifully warm Monday evening of December 8, 1980. At around 10 pm, I was traveling without any passengers, when I passed by the Dakota. About an hour later, I was still driving my taxi while listening, as always, to Vin Scelsa on WNEW-FM 102.7, when he suddenly announced John Lennon had been shot. A short time later, while trying to hold back tears, he announced the death of John Lennon. John Lennon Assassination Announced By Vin Scelsa On WNEW-FM December 8, 1980 (7:38) www.bitchute.com/video/pPJKwDcY12Tx When Vin Scelsa broke this horrible news of John Lennon's death, I was with a woman passenger in my taxi. I was on East End Avenue, the same street where I was born, in Doctor's Hospital. As soon as my passenger heard the news, she immediately broke out crying. Soon there were tears in my eyes and rolling down my checks. I composed myself, turned my off duty light on, and finished driving my passenger to her home in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn (one block from where my paternal Grandmother lived). I dropped her off, waited until she was inside her home safely, and then headed straight to the Dakota. It was about 11:45 pm when I arrived, and already there was a large group of people gathered. I double-parked my Peugeot 504 taxi just about twenty feet West of the archway, in front of the Dakota. I opened the sunroof of my taxi and placed a portable speaker on the roof so people could hear WNEW-FM live. Soon hundreds of people had gathered outside of the Dakota. Throughout that solemn night, thousands of fans arrived, mourned, and left. I know about these thousands of people coming to pay their respects and grieve the tragic loss of John in the middle of the night because I stayed in front of the Dakota for the next nine hours. It was heartbreakingly sad for me to witness. At any one time during the night, there were dozens of grown men and women openly weeping like babies. These nine hours were the catalyst that transformed my life. I swore on John's blood that I would do everything I possibly could to enlighten humanity and make our world better for future generations. And every day for the last forty years, I have been doing just that. Strawberry Fields: Keeping The Spirit Of John Lennon Alive (Film) (1:22:08) Producer | Writer | Director: Mark R. Elsis Featuring: Crying For John Lennon, by Hargo, Produced by Phil Spector and Graham Ward Released Online: April 1, 2020 www.bitchute.com/video/4OFVttHeM8PD

Yoko didn't split up The Beatles, The Beatles would have split even if he hadn't met Yoko. Time split The Beatles up. They grew up, they had families, their music was going in different directions. The group was getting too big, & the music that they did on their own was constrained by the pressures of the group. It was inevitable.
