    Something fun to note is you may hear someone described as “be-spectacled” in English. This SOUNDS similar to “freckled,” but refers to a person wearing glasses! (Spectacles = a pair of glasses) Just for some more confusion: “bespeckled” is also a word, and one that means “covered in spots or dots!” It’s similar to “freckled” but is not referring to specifically just freckles.

    For reference: absolutely no native English speaker would ever say “hirsute.” Like ever. Depending on where you’re from, you might describe that man as things like: hairy, scruffy, or unshaven. Hairy would be the most “correct” option here as that is what hirsute means.

    Well... Ever is a little strong. But yes, you are right. It is not commonly used. That is kind of what I intended as the point by putting it at C2 level, though. I think most native speakers rarely speak at C2 level.

    Keep trying! Native English speakers speak with all kinds of different accents so you’ll never sound too out of place. Just do your best to blend those individual letter sounds together, think of it like being lazy with your tongue 😅

    The man was reading a newspaper at home. His wife entered the door but did not greet him. She washed her hands in the bathroom. Then she went to the kitchen and sat down. Her friend had told her that she had seen her husband with a woman. That was the calm before the storm!

    I didn't get b2 and c2 , what does it mean?

  • @NEOEnglishwithPam
    @NEOEnglishwithPam13 күн бұрын

    B2 = a sigh. A sigh is long breath out that we usually make to show we are disappointed. C2= grunt. A grunt is a short, low sound that comes from our throat. We usually grunt to show we are annoyed or maybe making physical effort. For example some tennis players grunt when they hit the ball.
