Have you checked that lever on the transmission? Is it installed properly when you put it back together, allowing that lever to engage or disengage?

    Anyone out there with a lot of experience doing big jobs restoring gates and railings. I am using phosphoric acid on about 100 square meters of rusted 15 year old, very ornate and intricate gates and railings. Is it wise to use water to rinse after putting on the acid. I just thought that might bring rust again. Also, is it ok to paint about 6 hours after putting on the acid. You might ask why. We get a lot of rain here at night in Thailand this time of year.

  • @tonedubb4325
    @tonedubb4325Ай бұрын

    If the weather is nice and hot, the water will dry up fast, leaving a nice clean surface with no rust. Once it's rinsed off, the surface is good to paint on. This was a small job. Have you seen the laser rust removal gun? That's bad ass. It will get in all those nooks and crannies. This rust removal gel could, too.

    I only used the oil spring ring and one solid ring I left the 3 rd one off the piston will it be ok ? Thanks

  • @tonedubb4325
    @tonedubb4325Ай бұрын

    After removing all the rings, thoroughly clean the pistons, the groves, and oil lubrication, installing new rings. The hard was tearing the engine apart. Rings are cheap. They may look ok, but if they were unevenly worn, they couldn't detect with the naked eyes. Now you still have oil sipping thru the rings. You just wasted all that time and effort for nothing. Put in new rings, the rings will start to wear to conform to the cylinder walls as the pistons go up and down. You will have a perfect seal.

    @@tonedubb4325 dam I was hoping I could just use the 2 oil rings , thx

  • @tonedubb4325
    @tonedubb4325Ай бұрын

    @user-lo1kw8yl3i Sorry I misread your first message. I was thinking of the other rings. So you left it one oil ring, then it will not be all stable and rigid. As the piston goes up, upper and lower oil rings are designed to lubricate the cylinders wall. It may not work as efficiently with just one. Since it's designed for 2 oil rings, I would think it would flop around. If that ring breaks off, it will cause damage to the wall as well.

  • @tonedubb4325

    Fill the transaxle with approximately 2.5 quarts or 80 ounces of 20w-50 synthetic oil. During the filling process, connect a drill to the fan/pulley shaft and spin the transaxle to purge the air out of the system, allowing room for more fluid. Make sure the hydro disengage lever is engaged so the axles will turn as you spin the fan/pulley shaft with a drill.

    I bought the exact same chinese saw, 62cc version. I think it is a knock off of a husqi. I was alarmed when you said you mixed fuel at 40:1. If that is what you do, the saw will seize pretty soon. I bought one and ran it at 40:1 and it melted the piston after only 2 hours use. These saws must be run in for first 5 tanks at 20:1, and after that at 25:1 and never less than that. A little known fact of two strokes is that if you run them with very low ratio, eg 15:1 you will get MORE power, but it may coke up the spark plug quicker, esp if you dont run it at full throttle. My saw leaks bar oil also. so I empty the tank after using it, to put it in storage. there should be a oil flow adjustment screw underneath, to minimise the oil fling. My saw had problems with the oil pump drive which is under the chain sprocket , it has to engage with the actual chain drive sprocket, and is white nylon. So check that The pin roller bearing in the clutch had no grease on it, so check that. I drilled holes in my muffler to help dissipate the exhaust heat better. I had to buy a set of carb adjustment screw drivers from Aliexpress, or Amazon for the carbs, It went out of adjustment very quickly. Its not hard to adjust if you watch a YT tutorial on that. Never run the saw lean, alway adjust it to run on the rich side to also help reduce cylinder temperature. After a heavy cutting session on 2 1/2 foot thick logs, I took off the muffler to drill it out, and saw I had scored the piston a bit from too much heat, thats when I richened up the mixture to help it run cooler. These saws can be good but do no like to get too hot. Before you even use it, throw away the spark plug and get an NGK one.Chinese plugs can ruin your ignition coil, had that happen. Take it to a saw shop to get the exact right file size for the chain, should be 4mm, or 5/64"" These saws can do a tremendous amount of work if looked after, they are just sensitive and messy. I chains are ok, the bar is soft, so after a season check the bar for wear. If it is feeling rough, file it back smooth and 90 degrees to the bar side face. Otherwise it will start cutting in an arc instead of straight, very aggravating.
