    If anyone else is facing this issue and can’t/ hasn’t been able to swap to the manual transfer case. You can usually pop the transfer case actuator off and clean all the water and grease out and scrub the contacts clean to get everything back working and get back into the right gear!

    Everyone like to bash Landrovers. Have owned many brands of 4wds from Toyota to Suzuki even Lada's. Nothing compares to my Landrover discovery 2. Been the most reliable 4wd I have owned. Had it 10 years and travelled most of Australia in it. Regular maint and replace parts when they are worn and you will never have a problem. The best part about them is they are so cheap. I can buy 5 discovery 2's for the price of 1 similar age landcruiser here in Australia. My son is a landcruiser mechanic and he even advised me not to by a landcruiser as they are way over priced.

    I'm curios how you gonna fix the headlight leveling. I tried repairing mine, but the plastic is so brittle it leaked the fluid. I ended up with buying a servo-motor kit from Germany for 160eur

    A big issue with auto-lockers is when you are on slippery off-chamber trails. They will lock under power and the vehicle will have a tendency to slide down hill (this is true with selectable lockers when locked too). Open differentials tend to hook better and keep you on the trail. Driving slow with less power may keep the auto lockers from locking.

    This can be remidied by being able to control the ADD with a simple inline switch. Still probably not as good as open but it helps.

  • @johnmadsen37

    Kinda funny keeping auto lockers from locking. I seen a few jeeps have issues with them compared to selectable. Especially in the front.

  • @adambrown7741

    I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but one of your front end noises will be those blown out sway bar end links. And your steering rack appears to be leaking. Solo motorsports in Covina rebuilds steering racks. Just had them do mine!

  • @overlandingworld
    @overlandingworld2 ай бұрын

    Our sway bar actually got permanently disconnected. And yes the rack is leaking. It’s easier to just add oil!

    Road speed: I have ran a small gps unit which gavel me my speed/compass/miles and route. Also used my HDSonar fish locator as well while driving, the more time you spend studying and using and familiarizing when you’re not on the water the better!!! I have an05 SeQ as well, a battery jump pack/compressor/charger comes in handy, some teflon tape on the threads should prevent the threads from loosening, clever rear latch, have wire with and pull-up muffler, Just slow down and stop procrastination on those minor maintenance issues !!!😊

    There seems to be so much fakeness in this report. I don't like the speaker's attitude, and I must comment on the speed of her speech. If she really needs to influence people, she must speak more slowly and clearly. Sorry, guys - I live in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa, and we speak ENGLISH here! I have owned a 1999 Disco 2 V8 for twenty-two years, and it remains the most amazing and reliable vehicle I have owned. It has had all four of its traditional "problems" which have been quickly and effectively repaired! I am eighty years old, and I would take my Disco 2 anywhere in South Africa at the drop of the proverbial hat!
