Channel content uploads began in March of 2022. Please make yourself at home and have a look around. Hopefully you find something enjoyable. The initial thought was to capture random wildlife around my townhome here in Eagan Minnesota, USA by using inexpensive V3 WYZE cams.
In April of 2022, I purchased my first quadcopter. Knowing current laws insist drones remain within visual line of sight, I decided to go with a DJI Mini SE. I received the drone April 28. Then on May 11, I applied for the Remote Pilot - Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) certificate through the FAA. After going the self paced study route for about two weeks, I nearly aced the exam. This new found licensed knowledge has brought me much joy. I hope these videos do the same for you.
Being a "part -107" certified remote pilot ensures I follow the rules while still having a lot of fun. When it comes to when and where to fly, I now have the utmost confidence on how to safely proceed.

They are active today here, also
They don't give up easy
Very very true!
Chickadees are sparce here
Awesome!
Still catching up
They are fun to watch, we have a lot of babies
Love these birds
Nice to see the cardinals, I don't see them very often here anymore
How cute 🥰. Had my first Cowbird visit a few months ago. Haven’t seen him recently, but with the warm weather, he’s probably finding plenty of bugs to eat. Most birds don’t seem to visit bird feeders too much in warm weather from what I noticed. I’m getting a lot less house finches now than when it was wintertime.
Nice! Yeah, the House Finch visitors have really dropped off here as well. There are a lot of bird feeders in my neighborhood. There is little to no chance that any birds will be going hungry this time of year. 😁
Stinkers!
If fast food was a bird lol
That Cardinal is an everyday visitor, huh?
Yeah, a Cardinal visits more days than not for sure. With that said, there are several days throughout the year that I do not have a Cardinal visit. I always start to worry if something is wrong when they no show. My neighborhood has several Cardinal couples now. I think this guy must have claimed this feeder as his territory for the mating season. During the winter months several males and females will visit. With a bit of good fortune, we will see juveniles visiting again later this year. Thanks for your views, likes, and comments. 😁
@@CousinSchultz that's dope. We have several cardinal couples in our neighborhood too, but there are a specific 2, male and female, who come around everyday. We did see a juvenile a few days ago. I want to see the juvenile Blue Jays
I could be wrong but it looks like a Brown Thrasher. I’ve seen a few on bird cams back East. Very pretty bird.
I think you are 100% correct. I'll update the description and title. WOOT! Another new species to the feeder. Thank you very much for the correction, views, and likes.
Lots of baby finches lately
Happy to be squirrel free again
Me too, even if it is for a day. 😉
I wondered what this bird was, we have had one too
Initially I was incorrect. Thankfully a viewer let me know that it is a Brown Thrasher and not a Northern Flicker.
❤❤❤😮😮😮
🙏❤️❤️✌️✌️
Love those little sparrows
Hopefully the squirrels have slowed down
Yes they have. The cayenne pepper took about a week to take effect. A few squirrels got a taste and must have spread the word. This is very good news as I was very close to taking the feeder down for good and dialing things back to a watering dish.

Thank you so much for all of your comments and views.
I have chipping sparrows, house finches, a pair of cardinals( Louie & Louise) that visit every day, hummingbirds, blue Jay's, downy woodpeckers, pileated and red bellied woodpeckers, rose breasted gross beaks, nut hatches, American gold finches by the dozen, all at once. This place is magical. Chipmunks coming up on my porch to get sunflower seeds I 've laid out in small piles, where I've had as many as 15 chipmunks eating from 15 piles, and my cairn terrier Gus, would sit with me on the porch, and as these little guys would come up one at a time, with no fear of Gus or me, and head straight for their own pile, and Gus would just sit there quietly and watch. 9:22 9:22 9:22 9:22
WOW! That does indeed sound like a magical place. Thank you so much for your views, likes, and for leaving comment. "A calm terrier", that sounds like an oxymoron to me. 😊
Best little dog in the world, comforting to me after my wife passed away, just to have him lay his head in my lap, as I wept. He went peacefully in his bed, next to me, as I sat beside him to the end. Cried for 3 days, heartbroken. Haven't had another since, but now have 5 cats. At 70, they're just easier to deal with. Self cleaning, earn their keep,( live in the woods in log home have voles, field mice all over the property and they only get as far as the front porch, as gifts from the cats.
Sorry for your losses. Happy to hear you have new fur buddies to keep you company and safe from the rodents. Those voles can do a lot of damage to a yard. They sure did destroy my grass, which is still trying to recover from their visits two winters ago.
Their color is very brilliant in the morning sun

They are so cute
Catching up on your videos
We have a pair tou visit our feeders but not for long. And a single nuthatch as well. What's the most popular feed you've used?
I actually mix several different seeds and seed blends together to create my own custom mix. It contains, a premium finch mix (which has about a half dozen types of seeds), safflower seeds, blackoilers, and thistle seed. This brings in a nice variety of birds.
What kind of camera do you use? I have an Oeseri camera feeder for my page. Love the content. Keeping posting! youtube.com/@tinathebirdnerd?si=rH3SWHD9CSwCMLCD
Thank you for your views, likes, and for taking the time to leave a comment. There is a community post on my channel that talks about the birdfeeder, seed catch tray, and camera. It should answer all of your questions. Thanks again and have a wonderful day.
Well that little bugger, seems to not be impacted by the pepper
Yeah, I read that eventually they will get used to it. Maybe this one is older and has more experience in dealing with spicy seed? 🤣
Looks like the pepper is keeping the squirrels away
Sort of...certainly far better than no pepper.
I worry about the new born babies getting all that burning spice. This could destroy their esophagus. What if you just took the large tray off?
I had the same kinds of concerns. This is what I found via a google search: No, eating moderate amounts of cayenne pepper shouldn't harm a bird's esophagus or digestive tract. Birds don't have the same pain receptors as mammals that are triggered by capsaicin, the chemical that makes peppers hot, so they don't feel the burn. In fact, some birds and wild peppers have a symbiotic relationship, where the birds eat the pepper's fruit and spread its seeds. Birds' guts also separate the seeds from the fruit's pulp, which helps the seeds germinate in the ground.
@@CousinSchultz Babies?
It rained so hard! We got close to 1 1/2 inches
Yeah it was the same around here. Everything is so nice and green. It is nice to have a real spring...I can do without the summer heat myself.
@@CousinSchultz Me too! Holding off on installing the air conditioner
I turned mine on yesterday for the first time this season. It is off with the windows open again this morning. 😊
They have to eat a lot because they are so fast
Yeah, they are definitely a high energy bird.
Beautiful females
They are liking that spicy meals
That does indeed seem to be the case. 😊
Great! I will buy some hot pepper powder to get rid of the squirrels in our feeder. Thanks.
Well the experiment is just getting under way. You may want to stay tuned to see if it actually works. 😊
Nothing bothers those birds
Hope that works
Me too!
that is what high power air rifles are for.
Birds have no taste buds. I'm guessing this is due to a squirrel problem??? People buy the seed with the spice already in it. The problem is the squirrels get used to it - lol
You are correct and correct again. I had to try something before taking the feeder down completely. This cayenne pepper is my last attempt to keep the birds fed without also feeding the dozens of squirrels that live close by.
Isn't that harmful for the birds too?
Not a bit, they do not even know what spicy is. They have no heat receptors. The thing that throws them off is the red color more than anything else. Once they get used to the color, they should be around as much as always. With any luck, the pesky intruders will stay away now. It should at least be much better...time tells all.
I am seeing cardinals mire lately
They are such a wonderful bird, congrats!
Very nice!
They don't let the birds eat
Not many birds like the wind
This is getting expensive
I love the buntings
Me too, they are such a treat.
They love the thistle seed
They are young and want to eat
