My name is Lisette, I live in an off grid cabin in Northern Ontario Canada with my two beautiful German Shepherd dogs. I share a mix of my everyday life out here from building projects, foraging, cooking and baking, gardening, outdoor adventures, artist, and going out on wilderness adventures. Yes here in Alberta it’s waking up too. Wonderful shots of the birds and the insects. It’s a lot more green where you are . The leaves are coming out here. I’ve heard the loons on the lakes here . The cranes have also arrived.
I bet you could easily just plant some lilacs in various places around your yard, in the sun, and they would grow just fine. You can dig up small shoots, from next to an old lilac tree, and get the roots with them. Then just plant those and they will become huge bushes. I bet you could also do well with lily of the Valley up there!

Did you know, you need a male and female Lilac bush in order for the Bush to bloom . I don't know how you can tell the difference, maybe just need 2 Bushes to bloom .I had one lilac bush for years,never bloomed! I planted another near it and wa la, blooms !Lisette, check on MOCK ORANGE BUSH . They bloom in the spring with white flowers and smell like freshly cut oranges !
