Steve O'G | Non-Rock

Steve O'G | Non-Rock

Having spent most of my time during my teenage years and 20's playing in band, I love listening to new music for the first time and offering my thoughts on it from a musician's perspective. Each reaction video is genuinely the first time I've ever heard the material and I let the music play through without pausing.

I have 2 reaction channels. One called Steve O'G Rock which only contains rock music content, and this one which is a total musical free-for all. Welcome!

It warms my heart to see Kalandra getting more attention (the attention they deserve in my humble opinion), especially with magnificent tracks like this one. As a big fan of them, I can really recommend 2 other songs of theirs, namely 'Across The Sea (Live)' and 'Grizzly Man'. Both display Katherine's (the lead singer) vocal quality in the most perfect way and are some of my all-time favourites. Keep up the good work! I was at his concert in Copenhagen in December. It was an impressive experience to watch him build his songs with his loops. Fantastic evening. There was only one time he had to start over when he entered his loop "wrongly". Elsker Asaf

If you want to see him singing this "one take" you can watch it on youtube. A concert in Romania. By they way, he sings two days after being in hospital with tonsillitis. I'm quite sure you've already been recommended that video.

Great reaction. Since 94,5% of all YT reactions are either fake or bad, this was refreshing. You stand humble before Asaf Avidan, just like I do and that is all that is need to be said. As a musician, my first reaction was similar to yours. Thank you for the video.

It's like she's saying: "I don't think you were really listening. Here, let me show you what Bowie actually meant", and then goes on to blow my mind with not just a rendition, but a version so original it's basically a *new* "Life On Mars".

This is brilliant and delicious. Kalandra is a new find for me and they have some very moving songs to their credit. And as someone else noted below, Aurora also has a few new bangers out. Four of them in fact, and they'll all be on the new album coming out in June. In the meantime, should you be interested in reacting to some new Aurora, here they are in order of release: Your Blood - kzread.info/dash/bejne/kZ-Ktah_kaebmdI.html The Conflict of the Mind - kzread.info/dash/bejne/aYh6m5OTm5uyZdo.html Some Type of Skin - kzread.info/dash/bejne/m4Gas9GThdXUZLA.html A Soul with No King - Remix (feat. This was my introduction to Asaf Avidan too. He is amazing. Go wherever you like in his catalogue, you will NOT regret it. He is amazing on stage too. Enjoyed you reaction, one thing I feel though is his talent makes me want to play more, even though I doubt I'll ever reach that level.

Asaf's In a Box recordings (live one-takes; usually just him, but sometimes a few other musicians with him) are phenomenal. I love how expressive he is, both in his voice and how he uses his whole body while he sings - in that way, he reminds me a lot of Aurora (though their styles are obviously different). I'm sure you'll get a bunch of recommendations for more songs to listen to. I particularly like Love It Or Leave It and Her Lies (both In A Box II sessions, I think).

I can only find 2 songs by Dimash on your channel! You seriously have seen nothing yet !! 😂 Here are some very different songs: - Samaltau (Kazakh folk song, gripping, cool instruments) - When I‘ve Got You (bluesy pop-rock song, vampires in the music video) - El Amor En Ti (Spanish, hard to explain 😅) - Au Fond Du Temple Saint (French, Operatic, with Plácido Domingo) - Diva Dance (Alien, from The Fifth Element, best version: Bastau, crazier version: Drunken Concubine mashup) Please keep on reacting 😊

You should definitely check out more Kalandra. I think Bardaginn is the most rock I've heard from them, but everything they do is great. My personal favorites are probably Ensom (unplugged) or Slow Motion (either live or the music video - they have excellent videos). Also, if it's not on your radar, Aurora has been putting out videos in the last few months in anticipation of a new album (coming out in June) and a European tour.
