Yep! This blew my mind! I love math. Watching you figure out the patterns in the time signatures and deciphering his technique was just so entertaining. I’m always impressed with drummers that manage to play multiple rhythms simultaneously. This gentleman is on a whole other realm. 😮 Just for fun, after I watched this clip, I researched drummers’ brains to understand how they work differently. Research shows that drum training induces long-term plasticity in the cerebellum and connected cortical thickness. In other words, thicker fibers transfer impulses more quickly (increased brain synapses). Their motor brain areas are also organized more efficiently (which probably explains the multi-tasking in drumming). Your knowledge, technical chops, sensibility and understanding of music beyond drums really do go a long way when analyzing and breaking down a song, Steve. Always enjoyable to watch. 😊

This song is in 4/4 but he thinks in quintuplet most of the time😧. That's why it feels very odd when he delays in usual quarter notes. I also recommend the songs "Pinprick" and "The Quiet Place" from his newer record. Virgil said that he wants to have 3-4 hours of clinic for each song, so I think it'll be interesting if you react to them😁

This one is mainly in 7/8 I think. A lot of the main themes use 3 bars of 7/8 so I guess you could call it 21/8 if your eally wanted
