It’s ok you grew up in a all black household being by racial that’s usually the case because your still black especially if it was a single household which I grew up in im half and half but always identified as black I always will all I know is that side of the family and was taught from a kid that’s how you will be perceived no matter how light I am an I experienced it for real life I was born in the early 90’s and I can’t say I experienced people wondering what I was too much I look just like my African American mother I guess that helped people not questioning much idk till this day it’s only been woman i dated who would asked them questions but as a kid I knew I stuck out like a sore thumb in family pictures and I embraced that heavy im going to stand out while the rest blend in cool everyone always going to want to kno who’s that tho are cousin he black yeah that’s our 1st cousin I always found light out of situations I can say my brother had it different tho he’s as white as a full white person blonde hair blue eyes it’s unbelievable almost people would think he was albino but he identifies as black it’s how we was raised up so we know we are mixed and acknowledge we are mixed but identify as black it’s really up to the person but In old times we would be considered just black and a lot of family grandma and great uncle’s aunts grew up in those times and pass those ideologies dwn so In my family I’m just black to them just fair skin lol

Did you never think you were mixed … you look very biracial. Or you didn’t think it because your parents were black …. I’m just too observant …if I were you I’d have been like … is daddy really my daddy cause I look mixed lol

I found out at 23 that I was lied to about who my biological Dad was. It hurt that everyone including brother in laws knew but not me. Had a rough childhood, after I found out it all made sense. I have worked out most of my trust issues. It was hard and painful. I didn’t work it out in time to save my marriage unfortunately. Thank you for sharing your story. There are a lot of us out here.

I found out I was adopted when I was about 10 years old. My adopted mother told me. I also had a piece of paper with 2 names on it. I held on to it and still have it. I did a DNA test in 2018, I was 48. So someone with a 974 cgm got in touch with me. Come to find out he was my dad’s brother. He is the only one who has done dna. I have 2 half sisters and 2 half brothers. The have embraced me and I have them. We talk regularly. Unfortunately my dad passed away in 2010. In 2022 I had another strong match. Come to find out he is my hal nephew. I have 2 half sisters and 3 half brothers on my mom’s side. Again the embrace me. They had been looking for me. All of these half siblings lived in the same town as me. Come to find out I lived less than 5 minutes from all of them. My birth mother died in 1998. I am going test with all dna companies. I was watching a dna KZread and it said to test with more than one company. Someone May had tested with another dna company and didn’t test with ancestory. I was lucky everyone accepted me and I did them too. Embrace it. Build you a tree and learn about your family. You are lucky your adopted parents are still alive mine passed away so I had to figure everything on my own.

My grandma was put in adoption in the 1930s when she was born ive been trying to look up anything this i need to do this to find out of she was stolen because the orphanage was in touch with the mom and the mom was abusive when she would visit this couldve been a tatic of these sick people who stole babies and my great grandma had put an her name as her kickname frannie paterno i believe it may be doctored by someone and had her stolen my mom is in denial about that possibility but it makes sense that couldve most likely happened that was new york in the 1930s where anything went she also knew her younger brother robert was in the boy's orphanage her last name was Paterno

45 years old. Mom died when I was 9. Very light complected. Raised by my granny. Dead beat dad. I’m very light. Growing people would ask if I was mixed. I’m from the east coast. I said well if I do the test and I’m not black and white. I must be black and PR. Well I took the test and I’m black and eastern European. This has been very traumatic. I completely understand. It’s a gut punch.

I was trying FLO for about 4 months and they did nothing for me. the brand talks about having a money back guarantee and to try this product continually to see results. I tried this for 4 months and i had nothing different for me happen. I reached out to customer service and they just referred me back to noting that I must let them know about this within 60 days of my first purchase. Thought it was absolute nonsense as I was trying this product out with my hard earned money only for them to send me an email a week later saying it had to be within 60 days.

I did the DNA test back when it first came out. I asked my mom jokely if I will be having some surprises and she said no. About a year later, I had a half 2nd cousin show up on my mother's main line. It seemed that my great-grandfather had a child out of wedlock in 1906. He was 16 and the woman was 18 years old when they had the child. The woman's father raised the child. Her name was Mildred.Later they all moved to Iowa except for a sister who keep Mildred to raise with her husband. The family that moved to Iowa all died from a disease. Mildred married and was living in Toledo Ohio during the depression. Her family took in people in their home and rented out rooms. One tenant fell in love with Mildred and gave her a ring. Mildred turned him done, said she loved her husband. That night the tenant shot the husband and killed Mildred. She was buried in my mother's family plots in outside London, Ohio. On the burial certificate had my great-grandfather's name as being the father. My great-grandfather never told his children they had a half-sister. I have a great aunt that was 92 at the time and told her the whole story.

Your video came up in my list. This is a lot to process. You are bright and beautiful and I hope that you are well. There was probably much more that came up and I hope that you were able to be supported through those things as well. . For the most part, people make the best decision that they can at the time. That doesn’t mean it is the right decision, but the best that they could make at the time. God Bless you.

I came across this, after having a conversation with my family. I said that to say this: I was also adopted, I didn’t find out until I was around 9 or 10. But you are so strong to share this and I admire you for that. The reason I’m checking out reviews on this , is because I get questioned about my ethnicity a lot. Thank you for your strength.

Wow your story, my sister was adopted by another family, but the family doesn’t want to tell her, but I believe she knows she’s adopted etc the parents also adopted other kids so she knows they are not her siblings and she was adopted. But me and my mother have “visits” and this started since she was like 4, but they don’t want to tell her who we are, they say it’s too complicated to tell her because my mother went through drug addiction that caused her to lose custody of me and my sister. My sister remembered me no matter how long the time apart from our last visit was, sometimes I wonder if she knows or has a feeling, we aren’t allowed to tell her ourself but I wish I could I just want her to know who we are she is 12 now I wish they’d tell her who she was visiting with her whole life was her mother and sister. Sometimes I feel like they don’t ever want her to find out who we are and it hurts and it’s difficult to set visits because she says they’re “too busy” and will get back to us when she has time…. How did it feel knowing who you played with younger was your blood related family? That they had been there the whole time even though you didn’t know?

I don't understand how parents in this time and age are not aware of what's going on in the world of science. How could they ever think you wouldn't ever find out? Are they that naive or oblivious? Nowadays you can't hide something like that. They should have told you earlier out of respect for you as a person. I'm sorry it just makes me upset...
