Watch Reviews, Unboxing, walkthroughs of G-Shocks to Omega and Rolex since 2007!
Photos are good, especially a good macro. A video brings it to life. I try to find rare models, imports, and watches you don't tend to find in your local retailer and help a consumer be a little more informed. I hope this serves that purpose.
I am not a professional diver, adventurer, pilot, or horologist. I am a fan of watches. I enjoy the mechanics and technologies behind this fun hobby. If I am mistaken on occasional features or facts, please feel free to politely correct me in the comments section.
Thank you so much for the support.

Hi Dough, my dad gave me his frogman GWF A1000 couple years ago, I had no problem connecting it before, but my phone that was connected to my watch was actually lost in vacation it's been quite some time till i start using my frogman again, and I notice that the time wasn't right, so i tried to connect it to my new phone and it's somehow not working. Can you help me with this problem?
been a while since you posted this....and probably a little late to say "Thanks" but what the hell! After watching your detailed post (And other so called "Reviewers" should take note of just how detailed it was!) I purchased this very watch about 15 minutes ago! So thank you Doug! Very much appreciated mate! And you have yourself a new subscriber! Cheers, Doons
Great review, I've just got the same watch love it.
I bought this watch but my hand got sweaty... I returned it😢
Great review. Awesome watch. Just wondering if it has auto light
This watch is this watch is still one of the most beautiful Aqua Terras, even nearly 4 years later. The rubber strap is the perfect choice over the bracelet. A nice casual daily wear.
is the mechanism of this watch quartz ?
All I wanted to know, and need to know, ever, is how to set the time. Sadly, you didn't cover this . . .
Here’s the 2nd video I did. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nYCizJmOcdnRfto.htmlfeature=shared
Agree this is the nicest looking Edifice… Has a Sapphire crystal which is super…
How loud is the alarm?
Sadly, G-Shock alarms suck
Beautiful watch. I can’t wait to get one!
Please let me know what you think when you do!
Thanks for the video I love this watch.. started staking money hopefully getting it by the end of this year
Thank you, the dial work on these is incredible. I almost look at GS dials like functional art
Awesome Thanks, seen this video several times, this is my next watch.
Happy to help. Let me know what you think of it when you get it.
So when my wrist swells all I have to do is press on the logo and it sizes up? That's fantastic!
Yes, works like a ratcheting system and so well hidden.
After all this years, I'm still wearing my G-9300-1 👍. It's ok for freedive but not suitable for scuba diving. Recommended to get a proper dive computer watch for scuba diving.
Love hearing that. Shows the longevity G-Shocks hold
I know this is a late comment considering when this video was released, but I just picked one of these up off eBay and imported it from Japan. I was wondering how you change the time zone that it automatically displays without pressing any of the buttons? Should the watch automatically ping to the tower that I’m nearest to?
Great video! What color are your watch's markers/numbers? Are they the ecru "faux-tina" color or more white/green?
Thank you Steve! The older versions of the 1312 were Ecru, that faux-tina. Newer versions are that white green. This version I reviewed was the white green.
Any idea how to get the backlight to illuminate for more than 1.5 seconds? I scoured the internet looking for that info and havent found it anywhere. The manual doesnt mention it either so I'm guessing it cant be adjusted like all the other ones i have
Unfortunately I don’t believe the backlight time could be changed on the Riseman
@DougFNJ ah man that stinks, they thought of everything for this watch except that, thanks for the reply
Please tell me, is it possible to start the timer, then switch to the stopwatch, start it, and then switch to steps, and at the same time both the timer and the stopwatch work, or does the watch not support such a function?
its about time someone actually explain all the function of this watch beside only activity tracker.....lol........im contempating on this watch,........i have a tissot tstar 1000 already and i love tissot more then tag belive it or not......hehe........but that mario cart tag t connect is sic so is the price.........good review
Thank you, these watches really needed a full demo. lol. Look at their newer models they just released, smaller not as functional, but pretty cool.
Is the back plate screw type? I wanna buy the watch but i cant see the 6 notches for the opening tool..i hope it isnt the press type..
My most recent addition is the 2023 TAG HEUER Glass Box tri-compax with a vertical clutch and a column wheel in house movement & 39 mm at that. It runs about 2 to 3 seconds per day fast. Uber smooth winding . Fine vid!
Thank you! Great purchase, these updated movements are great, accuracy has been the same for me.
You’re right about the gateway to a watch collection. My wife just got me the tan one for Father’s Day, I have quite the collection now (13 G-Shocks😂). I had no clue this one had the Bluetooth, but thank you for letting me know what app, and how to use it!
Great gift! Welcome to the rabbit hole Justin lol.
Beautiful watch and a great review!
Thank you, this one was a lot of fun!
Hey Doug! Still happy with the purchase a year later?😜
Awesome video by the way, one of the best reviews I've seen, with many essential specs sometimes not mentioned 9n any website (thickness, weight, etc)
Thanks ApplewoodSmokedBacon: who couldn’t love you just based on your name??? I really enjoyed that watch, but it was unfortunately a victim of downsizing that may some day make its way back to the collection. This was a fun video to do, and it is a unique watch with a lot of depth to it.
How much do these go for?
I got stupid lucky many years ago, it cost me the price of a DW-5600E about 14 years ago which I believe was around $35usd and shipping to UK. You could find them on eBay in all different conditions.
Superb, just got one of these yesterday. It still has the original strap at 37 years old. I already have the previous model, the 2004 DW-5200 one. Slightly different features and interestingly it’s 2 grammes heavier! I’m chuffed to bits with it.
Love hearing that!! Mine started falling apart from age, I removed the resin and screws and sent it to Casio last year for a refresh. They replaced the battery, o rings, and seals, put new resin in, it is like brand new.
Great review. I just received the PRW 6000Y-1a and the PRW 6900YL-5. Love them both (hard to decide which one to wear, but the 6000Y usually wins). With any luck I will have a pre-own PRW6600Y-1A9. Wish me luck.
Thank you and Good luck! Let me know what you think when you get it.
got green one today and its awesome i loved it
Great choice!
I love mine on the 5 link bracelet-
Does the bracelet taper at all?
Very slight taper
Bought a Tag connected Golf Watch absolute rubbish batteries would even last a full round of 18 holes. Tag were very good in exchanging for another traditional mechanical watch Tag Carrera Date which I am very happy with. My advice is by a watch fit for purpose get an Apple or another brand for fitness and everyday wear and get a mechanical Tag for special occasions
I set the World Time to Wellington New Zealand which is +12 UTC which is also UTC in Greenwich Mean Time. So you can count plus or minus without changing to UTC on the watch. It's a full GMT. The furthest is Kiritimati but that's +14 UTC and the watch doesn't have it.
How do NFT's get displayed on this watch?
Typically anything that would display on your phones notifications are able to get pushed to the watch. I’m not familiar with how NFT’s work, unfortunately I’m not much help there.
Another great review Doug. Was this one a keeper for you? I'm torn between this and the speedmaster racing with the white dial as my chronograph. Both are fantastic. Having had both as you have, what are your thoughts between the two? Which would you keep? Like you, I have larger wrists so they both fit fine. Makes no difference to me if manual or automatic, though I do kinda like having to wind it. I don't know. It's a very difficult decision!
Go with both! Just kidding of course. It’s a tough choice Nick. The 57 is very classic, in my mind, more versatile. The Sandwich dial is awesome. I’d say the racing is more casual, yet also versatile. It’s more modern, not the heritage that the 57 has, but still a fantastic piece. It is much thicker and a little top heavy. In my mind, the 57 takes a slight edge. I would definitely tell you to go to a dealer or boutique to try them on, that’s always going to tell you the story of what’s going to work best for you. You definitely won’t lose either way. Please let me know what you decide.
Im looking for a first real watch. I think this might have to be it?
Would be a hell of a first watch.
Did I miss the battery life ?
Battery life is subject to how you use it. I get a full day out of mine from 8 am until I go to sleep. I put it on the charger around 2am and it’s typically inside 25-50%
I've had a few G-Shocks on my wrist, but none of them I've looked at as often as the Rangeman. Black bezel, red strap, adorable buttons. The overall picture is perfect. No wonder so many people are fans of it. I put together a little clip in its honor. :) kzread.info/dash/bejne/ooag2ttupNzTlLg.html
May I ask how accurate the calories burned js for swimming, basketball, and boxing?
Hello, thank you for the very good video. I would like to ask a question. I really like shiny and blingy watches. In that respect, the Seamaster is the perfect watch for me, but I am deciding between black, blue, and white. Which one has the most bling? I like the white color the best, but I'm asking because it seems to have relatively less bling compared to black or blue.
Not a lot of bling on the modern Seamaster. The dial on the white is a matte chalky finish. The black has a bit more shine to the dial. You may want to look at a previous generation, the Seamaster Ceramic. The dial didn’t have the waves, and that got the bling. Also check out the 2 toned Seamasters.
@@DougFNJ Really thankful
I need to fix the 24 hour hand on the six o’clock dial. It’s off by 12 hours. How do I fix it?
Have you gotten it to synch with the atomic tower? If not, try adjusting the time by 12 hours, may just be setting it 12 hours off.
Great vid... I think I may pick this watch up but leaning to the black dial orange hands version.
I really don’t think you could go wrong with either. Just a color preference.
I have this watch. It's stunning, can't fault it. Quality.
I really like the Racing series. Great alternative if you want an auto with date
this is powerful watch.very heavy and so tough. love it.
It’s like the G-Shock of Seiko
Excellent video sir. Looking for someone to explain the watch better instead of just blah blah blah pretty. Just subbed. Would love to get one of these
Thank you! The good news is these are now available at AD’s too. I was talking to my buddy at W Kodak in Hoboken NJ, a Tag AD and they just received one finally.
Great and professional video!
Thank you so much. It’s one of my all time favorite watches, these are a labor of love. I’m happy people enjoy them.
Wow😮.
That was my reaction the first time I saw it
That line in your finger nail could be subungual melanoma, you should see a doctor asap if you haven't already.
Thank you sincerely. I’ve had other viewers tell me the same, my doctor confirmed it was scar tissue from slamming my thumb in a heavy car door when I was a kid, the nail grows over it and I get that groove. Seriously appreciate people’s concern, I’ve heard of loves being saved from viewers noticing things like that.
@@DougFNJ good to hear you've been checked and have been cleared.
damn you're a good reviewer.
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate that
Is this logging feature available in B70?
I believe there is location logging on the B70
