    I really enjoy your videos. I just finished watching the tow-behind roller series and am impressed with your enginuity and persistance. Love the push start idea in this video. I'm honestly a bit surprised that it worked ... but it was a hoot watching. Thanks!

    Matt now that the umbilical cord has been attached to the power grid, the next big surprise is the monthly utility bill gets delivered to you. Also, during the recording of this project, I noticed a view of what looks like the trolley crane on the side of the driveway. I guess the next thing to buy is the 12" "I" beams for the crane.

    so I guess the word Steam is used loosely

  • @DieselCreek
    @DieselCreekКүн бұрын

    There is some steam powered stuff there. Pennsylvania now makes it pretty hard to get steam stuff certified to be used. It’s my impression they used to be a lot more at this show, some people quit bringing it and some stuff does not get operated because you have to have it inspected every year which is a PIA process. The steam stuff does not hold my attention as well either so I probably don’t show it too much

    A lot of it is to pay for the (eternal) liability of having your wire become, essentiall) their responsibility. They have to buy insurance for every foot of primary line in the ground or up on a pole. Lawyers LOVE to sue power companies,who have deep pockets and they will settle instead of going to court. Sorry the ransom is so high. About ther best I managed was staggered payments - their insurance costs are staggered, after all. I wish you the best of luck - I always learn a lkot from watching your projects - for example, I dod not know there was mule tspe woth a woven in conductor to carry a tracer signal. I sure wish the guy who buried all the water pvc on this propertu had used thast!!! I used that on my buried propane lines,

    I had never considered using a surplussed out freuIght trailer as a kiln for drying wood. Here in South Texas I can probably just paint it flat black and that will get quite hot enough. Great idea!!

    Do not use brake cleaner on metal that you weld. When you weld the metal the fumes turn to forgone gas. That was used in ww1 to gas the trupes.

    If you wanted to, you could give the truck the original look which is all olive drab. You would have to research that shade of O.D. also white stars on the doors. I went into the Army right when they were transitioning from O.D. to woodland cammo uniforms and vehicles.

    You said that you put a marker in the ground for installing water lines for heating the garage. What you should also do is to put a marker in the ground for future power lines under ground later on.

    In your effort to spin the starter extra fast, I'm surprised you didn't try hitting it with 24 volts instead of 12V. I'm sure you have something in your yard that has a dual battery setup. That being said, I was surprised at how effective pushing it with the bulldozer was. It didn't pop to life, but you could hear it firing on at least a few cylinders.

    Hi Matt, as a PEng (electrical) I would suggest you have a 480v 3PH power supply as you are running motors and have an industrial facility. Your right to want mains power for the needs you can foresee into the future. That will also power your much needed overhead crane better than single phase.
