The "disconnect from the internet" one has been huge for me - I just put together a retro-DAW area in my studio with a WinXP machine which is never connected to the internet (for obvious reasons), and it was shocking to realise how much more productive I am working over at that station than my main rig. And it's not just social media - even something as banal as having an email client open just puts a constant flow of non-music related information and time anxiety into your periphery.

Liked and subbed. Just a hint that may help considering your audience and the type of ppl we are. Timeline bookmarks for ppl like me who skip from point to point, and if unable to, may just decide not to bother. Maybe that's just me tho, so ignore, if i'm the only one saying it. Good luck.

My tip are set timers for a task it actives that last day reflex when u procrastinated long. Depending on what you're doing changing tempo and key often can keep it going. I used a varispeed device on ableton and logic has it built in.

These are all great tips man. I'm so appreciative of knowing there are others out there with ADHD in a position I'm working so hard to be in. I never realized how having mini distractions, like a candle or say the Lava lamp were things that I was subconsciously using to help keep focused on the task at hand, as well as the drinks close by. Thank you for the vindication lol

Thank you for this video; about a year I pushed myself to write and release a song a week, which i managed to keep up for 9 weeks. However, I burnt myself out and then found that I didn't have the time to properly get back into the groove of writing/producing during my final year at uni. I've just finished now though and am super excited to devote more time to what I love - this was the perfect reminder I needed to hear 🙌

I love hiking and often bring my Tascam with me to record different elements of nature. It's a perfect middle ground because I can then use the recordings as track ambience and I still got a good break out of it!

Ai can’t do anything unexpected by literal design. But the unexpected is what people want. If it’s too calculated it feels plastic. Julian’s voice strain on reptilia in the pre chorus makes it real, ai could replicate that technically, sure, but it’ll be a perfect mistake

The MD421 mic clips are also incredibly flimsy and break simply by looking at them. There was someone selling aluminum recreations of them awhile back, but I'm not sure if they're still in business.

Applying dynamic compression to avoid clipping in production is different from the format compression a consumer sees when buying an MP3 or AAC vs. WAV or AIFF. Maybe you could speak to this as I’ve found people that only understand one side or the other.

This reminds me of the time I solved banding in photo editing by introducing a tiny bit of noise to fool the compression Al Gore-ism. Also I invented the moped when I was 6 and trying to ride my bicycle up a steep hill. I'm very humble so I'll just say... I'm a fucking genius.
