Holy crap! You subscribed to our channel! I remember watching this video a few years ago while researching mechanisms! Circle of Life? lol
Nice work but would of been nice to see the final work..? I feel like I’m missing something?
Awesome mechanism, shame about the lightning of the video.
I know this was posted a long time ago but did you finish it?
This is cool
How did you make them. Your design is perfect for a cosplay that I'm working on.
What size liner actuator did you use?
Do they have quieter ones cause I don’t know anything about this and I wanna get it as quiet as possible 🤔
I was wondering, do you still have the link for the trash bag demonstration?
Can you attach 2 Linear Actuarors?
Hello amazing job love it 😍 one question what are the measurements for the rods and stocks please how many of each I would love to try and do this 👏 tank you hope for and answer
The sound is scarier than the costume
If i send you mt email address, could you send me the dimensions? I usually do leather working if you need something made in return.
I’m trying to make my kid some buzz lightyear wings that extend. New to cosplay, any tips?
Can we see it in action?
This is amazing
Question 1: How
Would love to know the software you used.
ok, but all the exoskeleton regarding steel wings? Did you create it or where did you buy it?
Good night, Kraven. I would like to know the size of each piece of your wing. Unfortunately, I can not reproduce these measures. I intend to make a slight modification to the opening. Congratulations on your excellent work.
What are those Brackets? I cannot find them anywhere for the life of me, and from what you say or looking at it etc nothing has them, Please can someone point me to them? i'm sure its not that hard to find some
I was wondering if you have the dimensions of your setup? Aluminum stock sizes etc.
I'm so glad I found your videos! I've been working on a dragon for the last month! Is there any chance you have the pattern for your wing mech? Can could I use it in my creature?
nice job on the frame work
Nice work ^_^ Do you know a way to control the speed of the opening of the wings? If I want to open a little slower for example Thanks
Have you figured out a way to speed up the opening of the wing? For my wings it needs to open a little faster
I there I love your tutorial. I was trying to make one for a parade I will be attending in August, however the aluminum rods does not stay upright. I am wondering if the correct bending of the aluminum rods will help.
Where did u get your aluminum parts? I'm making wings just like these for Halloween and comic con.
Does it have to be 12 volt?
12v is the easiest way to go, plenty of actuators and power supplies available in 12v and you're able to keep things compact for hiding in the costume or around the actuator. Anything high would require a much larger power supply.
love the video subscribed. any way of showing how you made the hinges or any suggestions on a tutorial.
How long were the aluminum rods?
Phoenixgamer well I guess that depends on what your asking... the stock rods where like 40+ inches and as for the pieces I cut for my wings well.....that is going to vary depending on your design.
where did you get the rods for the main wing structure? I can't find them anywhere
Itachisephilover777 homedepot.
Kraven Z. I went there and didn't find them. what section were they in? and roughly how heavy were they? I'm making Castiel's wings from Supernatural
its call aluminum/steel rod stock if you check out there website and use the sku #'s below it will tell you if your store carries them, and if not which store carries them near you. I think it even will tell you where in the store it is aprox. aluminum rod : Model # 801647 Internet #204273994 Store SKU #477052 Steel rod: Model # 801587 Internet #204273972 Store SKU #476614
Kraven Z. awesome! thank you :3
how long does the battery last... and how long does it take to charge? i found bigger battery but weighs 4 pounds
I picked up a small 12v battery jump pack for a car, it's a lightweight lithium battery pack so it's good for a lot of cycles and easy to recharge it. I think it was around $40 online.
your wyvern is awesome and I was wondering if I wanted you to make my wyvern how much would it cost?
cutie
This is epic!!!!! Would love to see the final version if you got it finished in time.
Was this ever finished? I am going to be working on something similar soon, this is a big inspiration.
I wanted to use this but not as a dragon, so thank you for giving me a comic book idea and an excuse to make it
cool
What is the name of the software you used to design the finger spread ( scissor movement)
can you do a video of how you decorated them and stuff?
Really great work documenting the build. Has been really helpful for me in dealing with linear actuators for the 1st time.
Nicely done!
First of all, amazing job! Do you have any schematics of the wings? Thank you in advance! :)
Just pointing this out, you have them mounted too low on your back, they'd need to be around the shoulder blades like with real wings. Other than that, they look fab!
(3 years later) The reason they look like this is because the two pivot points, at the top, of the wings, are close to the center. You can see this on the other video on how these are made. The result is that the struts start at the shoulder height but come a long way down before they are away from the body. To make the wings appear higher the top two pivot points on the shoulders, need to be further apart.
Love your idea please get in touch with me it is urgent need help on wings
would it be possibly to post the links of the items you bought on amazon
posted in description now
how did you attach the wing feathers?
Mt. Crushmore I didn't end up using feathers. I ran out of time for that but I created a flexible skin out of thin painter plastic, spray adhesive, and a few layers of latex. Around the major joints I sewed spandex fabric to protect the hinges before applying the plastic and latex.
these are absolutely awesome, you are awesome! i need something like this but for a butterfly costume for a children's party any chance you can sale me one?
Did the party still go well?
