Piston operated wings completed.
Here are the completed wing from my last video the reaper costume was awesome and these wings where soo light weight. There covered in painters plastic spray glue and then latex. They feel like leathery skin it kind of grosses me out but there awesome.

The sound is scarier than the costume
Thank you for posting your wings here. They've been the template for me making my own! Mine won't be as wide. They'll be a bird design. Again, thanks. I've had a lot of good feedback posting my own test on Facebook and Imgur.

Just pointing this out, you have them mounted too low on your back, they'd need to be around the shoulder blades like with real wings. Other than that, they look fab!

(3 years later) The reason they look like this is because the two pivot points, at the top, of the wings, are close to the center. You can see this on the other video on how these are made. The result is that the struts start at the shoulder height but come a long way down before they are away from the body. To make the wings appear higher the top two pivot points on the shoulders, need to be further apart.
