Small Bike Stuff

Small Bikes are our passion, but what exactly is a Small Bike? Is it based on physical size? Engine Capacity? Well, for us it’s based on a feeling. ‘Small’ in this case can be a reference to the knowledge of a particular bike around the world, it can mean size, it can mean engine capacity, it can mean anything you like. While we generally focus on smaller capacity bikes with large enthusiast communities; we truly appreciate all things on 2 wheels.

We aim to produce as much content as we can about the machines we love. Whether that be through written or visual media. Whenever we’re lucky enough to travel we always dedicate some time in each location to the local scene and what matters to them. Maybe one day we’ll be in your neighbourhood!

We only ask that if you like our content then do your best to share it around among like minded people! You can reach us via Facebook or Instagram.

Same engine = same bike?

That's because road motorcycle riders are the most discriminated group in the country. Off road riders, mountain bikers, road cyclists, horse riders, skiers all cost acc as much as road motorcycle riders but pay nothing.

Love this kind of stuff! Love waves! Have driven a lot of them in Thailand. But I hardly know anything about engines an stuff like that, so I have a little question for you. Is there any “easy”/cheap way of improving the power at any way on a wave and still have it roadlegal in Thailand you think?

I have bikes with Lifan and factory Honda engines. The lifans start every time, don't smoke, shift well, don't make funny noises, and if serviced last forever. I think they get a bad name from those who just jam them in and go full send. My old Honda engines smell funny, don't always start first try, use or leak a little oil but they are awesome little engines, generally have interchangeable parts, repairable on the side of the road, will run with several parts missing and make cool Honda sounds. I get both sides, some of my bikes I'll never Lifan, others I'm not bothered. My go to bike for group rides.... all looks original but has a sneaky Lifan hiding inside.

  • @SmallBikeStuff

Yeah I love everything equally. If I can ride the bike then I'm happy. Lifans are good fun. Smiles per mile.

Put Lifan 125cc in my Dax Clone, it did 13000 miles with abuse and deliberate SFA maintenance, I finally removed it from bike due to vibrations, the thing still ran with insane compression, bottom engine mount bent in middle of casing, sides drilled out to remove from frame. Amazing Engines! New motor £180 delivered, no point fixing it. Do a video on that green Dax, looks like 14” wheels 🛞

  • @SmallBikeStuff

Thats it! We always joked they were a 'disposable' motor. But you get a heck of a lot of life out of them before they're worth throwing away. Love Lifan!
