    If you drop racquet like that, I am wondering how you can add a lot of spin. This may work for beginners, but not for advanced players.

    The face angle of the racquet relative to the path of the racquet is how spin is created.

    the thing about high balls is you have to reach it, the essential thing about what you are doing here is stretching your whole arm to hit the ball which gives you the distance to that height, on low balls you can afford to have the ball to be close to you, but on high balls you have to give the ball the maximum distance from your body which is what you are trying to explain here.

    If the racquet face is nearly vertical at contact, does it mean you necessarily contact the “back” of the ball, since the racquet is a flat plane and the ball is a sphere? It feels impossible to contact the top half of the ball, unless the racquet is severely closed. What I mean is, if the racquet is exactly vertical relative to the ground at contact, then the ball must necessarily be impacted at the exact equator behind the ball, regardless of swing path. Am I missing something?

    Do you extend outwards at the 45 angle? Or you extend straight towards the net? I feel like when I “extend” it feels like I’m “pushing”

  • @s2lai
    @s2lai2 ай бұрын

    I think you kind of address this in the video where you say you extend slightly to the right

  • @HammerItTennis
    @HammerItTennis2 ай бұрын

    @@s2lai as your hitting the shot, the head of the racquet should begin to extend out toward the right slightly. With the rotation of your shoulders this gets the racquet toward the target. If you feel like you’re pushing it’s because your hands and the racquet head are moving together instead of racquet head passing the handle and using the leverage of the racquet.

    Thank you Sir but do you have a video that shows how to apply a “replacement grip” to a Wilson Blade v8 or v9 please? This is a nightmare because the end of the butt cap is round and the tape does not stick down when you fold it over as the adhesive only covers the centre of the grip. Poor design by Wilson.

  • @HammerItTennis

    The arm and shoulder mechanics would still be the same! I haven’t worked with anyone specifically playing wheelchair tennis, so I’m not familiar with how the non-dominant arm works with balance and steering the chair while hitting. However, the looping of the hitting arm in a vertical loop would help give power.

    Hammer grip vs Pistol grip?

  • @HammerItTennis
    @HammerItTennis5 ай бұрын

    You want the grip to run more at an angle through the hand vs just through the fingers. The racquet should be able to make more of a straight line when extended through the forearm to the elbow vs holding it in a manner that makes a 90 degree angle at the hand with the forearm.
