I have never enjoyed a game as much as I did this one. It was so fucking weird, but the most perfectly crafted atmosphere of any game I've ever played. It made me feel it.

With Ornstein, especially considering Gwyn’s decision-making tendencies, I always assumed he was undead and simply left after the player killed him. However, it’s stated that Smough stayed there longer than Ornstein, AND you get one of their souls after the fight. I always assumed Smough was a giant, especially given the sentinel knights and the blacksmith are giants, but characters’ sizes vary a lot, regardless of species for gameplay reasons. Perhaps both him and Ornstein are undead? Who knows

I'm almost halfway through with the game for the first time and I like it a lot, sure it's not the most brilliantly coded game, but the atmosphere is amazing. I never really understood why a lot of people don't like this title neither

There is actually a small mention of Vendrick in the description of the Shield of Want. IDK if someone else mentioned it already, but he is there. Just not in a big capacity. "Shield of an ancient king who was cursed by an all-consuming thirst. In the end, he was no king. The residue of the king's lust still smolders within this shield, increasing the number of souls absorbed when enemies are defeated."

MEA is a space shooter dragon age, and starfield less factions. People love ME due to shep's sitcom style line. Also the feeling of open world is odd. ME is wqve the milky way as an alliance officer. All those missions just keep reminds you, world needs shep, alliance needs shep. DAI get away from open world diseases by power. You, the inquisition need power to close the rift, to fight a god. MEA is helping random colonist some randome staff.

I think Aerith is SUPER dead. The implication is that Aerith dies no matter what, which makes sense since her death and return to the Lifestream is what allows the party to cast Holy later on. I think the Aerith we see after the "Death Scene" is actually Jenova, further destroying Cloud's mind. Remember, Cloud CANNOT handle losing a loved one, as seen with Zack's death. The reason we don't see the funeral or anything is because the game is being shown through Cloud's POV, and he has pretty much lost his mind by this point. He can't handle the idea of having lost ANOTHER friend and Jenova/Sephiroth need him to bring the black materia (Which Cloud still has) to him in the Northern Crater, so he's effectively hallucinating Aerith still being alive. In my opinion, The Aerith we are seeing during the final cutscene is actually Jenova in disguise. Why do I think this? This Aerith encourages Cloud to pursue Sephiroth, making him promise to hunt him down and slay him. Remember, the REAL Aerith's last command to Cloud was to leave Sephiroth to HER and to focus on himself, because she knew that Cloud will never be able to confront Sephiroth and destroy Jenova if he doesn't deal with his trauma. THIS Aerith is all "Forget it, go run after Sephiroth with the black materia (The literal one thing that could give Sephiroth the power to destroy the world!) and beat him up for me!"

Just completed Blasphemous last night. Sadly, I got the bad ending but the game was fun and of course, punishing. This video helps me better understand all that was happening because as an adult, I barely have time to clear games and run a second playthrough due to an ever-increasing backlog. DLC Boss fights look worthy of playing again tho...

The significance of Ornstein's leaving is that he left specifically to find Gwyns firstborn, which is a great betrayal considering Gwyn casted him out. That's what's so ironic about Smough. Gwyn thought him too crazy to make a proper knight but he was the last to remain at their post. Ornstein on the other hand was preferred by Gwyn, and chosen as one of his four personal knights, yet left his post to pursue the son that Gwyn designated as an enemy. We know the nameless king is Gwyns first born because he is the only enemy that ever uses sunlight spear, which is the firstborn's own creation. Also because he rides a dragon, and is found in archdragon peak, we can assume that this affiliation is probably what Gwyn casted him out for to begin with. After all he respected "arms and nothing else" and what armament could be greater than a pet dragon. Which is quite hypocritical, considering the fact that Gwyn had his own pet dragon, darkeater Midir. So Gwyn worked with Seath, and raised Midir, but had a problem with his son following in his footsteps. This is why Anor Londo fell apart after Gwyn died, he was a bad person and a bad leader. Also, the guy in the basement isnt Havel. We know this because in dark souls 3 we face silver knight ledo, who eventually befriended Havel on his travels. This would have required them both to have left anor londo. The person in the basement is impersonating Havel, and so needed the Havel ring to bare the weight of the armor. The real Havel does not need help emulating himself. But he would've had to leave the armor behind to escape Anor Londo unnoticed, which is why its available for us to find in anor londo with the trademark dragon tooth.

Little late to this but i believe the use of the words "collapse" and "that version of me lost everything" in regards to burial at sea is meant to signify that elizabeth and sally became synonymous with one another when elizabeth entered that seperate reality, causing all her other selves to meet the same fate; a beheading through a tear rather than just losing a pinky. But that also leaves the question of who is the elizabeth that you find in the rubble, and who is the one you play as in ep 2? My guess is the one in the rubble is the one thats supposed to be the one native to this timeline and the one you play as is the one who originally went out of her way to go there Edit: after watching foreward a few more seconds, yeah i probably have that backwards

So a quick google search gave me alot of potential options, public domain fairy tales are few but varied. The wizard of oz is one, but so too is Frankenstein and he fits the theme of looking for the key to eternal life. Take the legion arm mechanic and apply it to a body made of corpses and youve got a damn fine mechanic.. alladin, the little mermaid, and a few other randoms are also now public

God I truly hate the bastards that are Aldrich and Sulyvahn. In my shitty Dark Souls fanfic, my ashen one is a failed chosen undead in 1. He slaughters the both of them, careful to save the dying Gwyndolyn and going on to start a dark age where Gwyndolyn reigns as king and the ashen one is the prince of man.

54:07 Talking about this one I have my personal theory that links our Universe and Outer Wild's one So, we know that the Eye of the Universe hasn't got its original "canon" physical form as it's a purely quantum object. Everything that we experience post entering the Eye was created by the Eye based on our memories and experience, a Timber Hearth's forest as it's our homeworld and the travelers with whom we spent the most time in the last moments of our life. I'm pretty sure that the new universe the Eye creates is also based on knowledge of one who enters the Eye. We may see the evidence of it in post credit scene which is different depending on what we discovered exploring the Solar system. But the key factor here is that a single creature even an intelligent one is not able to comprehend in their head every single minor aspect of how the universe exacly works. So the new universe will always be a bit simpler than the previous one as it will be based on relatively primitive experience of one who started this universe by observing the Eye. Taking that Outer Wild's universe is just another iteration in a possibly endless chain, we could assume that countless steps ago there was our universe being a distant ancestor to the game's one. Through this chain the laws of physics were getting extremely simplified leaving us with the world were planets are just about a kilometer in circumfence, a star goes from red giant to supernova in a couple of minutes and evolution from fish to an intelligent being lasts just several hundred thousand years.

I love the environmental differences between Vendrick and Gwyn’s homes. While well past its prime, Anor Londo is still a breathtaking city. The area is the cleanest and brightest in the entire game, and the enemies themselves are even dressed much better than others throughout the game. The city itself is guarded from the humbler human settlement of Undead Burg by a giant fortress of death traps. This helps display not only Gwyn’s power but his classist attitudes, which explain the actions that drive the game’s plot. Dranglaic Castle, while still fit for a king, is much more militaristic in its architecture. The area is fortified, with no lack of battlements, watchtowers, and armories, and Vendrick has seemingly collected enemies from across his kingdom to guard the area. Instead of being guarded by a death trap, it is locked behind a gate that unlocks if someone gains powerful enough souls (i.e kills enough enemies or a few extremely powerful beings). It showcases how Vendrick, as a human, doesn’t have Gwyn’s elitist ideas, and as such understands he is no different than those he rules over. Therefore, his power is only sustained through the sword, and thus those who are powerful enough to fight their way to him are worthy to face him.
