Tracey Attrill (Essex girl in the wild)

Essex girl in the wild , forager of wild plants and hiker in wild places. I live in The Lake District National Park and I would like to take you along on my walks showing you the beautiful and stunning area in the mountains and valleys.
Along the way I provide routes onto the famous and iconic Wainright Hills and to be honest any other hills around the national park with stunning views that get overlooked by the majority of visitors. I also include some foraging for wild plants and would like to inspire others to use what nature provides for free.
Included in my adventures is our faithful collie pup Billy and my boyfriend Andrew. So I hope you come along with me on our adventures into the wild.

    There aren't many of them but as a dog owner i know the frustrations that dog-unfriendly stiles cause. Unfortunately as far as i'm aware there is no requirement to cater for dogs on footpaths, only humans 😒 Planning to do this walk on Friday

    Hi Tracey, very informative regarding the route to Fellbarrow which I need to do. I did Low Fell from Thackthwaite years ago, why we didnt do it then i dont know 🤣but your route definately looks the best option. Darling Fell looks an interesting one too if the fern or triffids arent too high. Looks a good round trip. Great video ATB

    @tonypilki3 thanks Tony ...I do like the route from Thackthwaite it's just the parking situation....its nice to do a circular onto Darling Fell just that flipping down and up haha....when the bracken isn't so high I'm gonna try the lower path around the flanks of Darling Fell should still get amazing views

    Super video Tracey. I cant believe we didnt do at least Bessy Boot when we camped at Stonethwaite the other week especially as it towered above our tent. At least we got eagle crag done which was my preference 🙂 Definately Glaramara and Bessy on our next camp if its not misty. You and Andy make it look so easy walking fromone to the other but im sure we would be going round in circles 😅

    Lovely video. This looks like a great tweak to this route. We have this on our list but were going to risk the Thackthwaite starting point, but since that only has spots for like 2 cars and that road is tiny, I like your starting point way better. Looks like several spots to park there and these aren't the most popular fells so I would hope in earlyish May it isn't rammed with cars. And it looks easier to drive to than Thackthwaite.

  • @Traceyattrill-Essexgirlinwild
    @Traceyattrill-Essexgirlinwild8 сағат бұрын

    @mjkoehler73 much easier to park here and room I would say for about 15 cars and a further layby up the road aswell. Thackthwaite is too narrow for me for parking but I do like the route up from it though...you should be fine in May as long as not a bank Holiday 😅 thanks very much for the watch and comment

I really can't believe you went wrong, at least with your encyclopedic knowledge you can make it up as you go along, I bet there are loads of trods that don't appear on OS maps. Funny how you didn't meet anyone else on that route. Would you rather it be muddy but green or baked dry and parched? Didn't notice any comments about midges, were they hiding? Hi Tracy, I dis this route today! 8.06 miles, I got lost a bit between the two pikes if that makes sense. Parked up at 8am already, it was warm, I was worried about the dog. Thankfully there was some water available. Islay had an involuntary swim in the little tarn heading up to Brock Crags. Headed down to Angle Tarn, which was beautiful, then over to the pikes. I walked straight past the path up, doubled back, and found it. Then over to the path leading to place full and dropped down to the path back to Hartsop. A very warm day, even that early walking in to the sun. Beautiful though.

    Well Tracey that was certainly worth waiting for. Them views are something else. I was knackered watching you some steep climbing. We'll watch Andy's vlog when he puts it out. Both the same walks but different in a good way You're knowledge of the fells is outstanding. All the best till the next time. Malcolm and Sheila from Workington.

    Eagle Crag is one of my favourites and the way you went is a really good one but the direct route with the easy scramble up through the terraces shouldn't be missed. Not been for a few years but I think you could get a dog under the fence at the stile and the stile might not be more difficult than the one you negotiated. As an aside, being an old curmudgeon, I believe the fells are for walkers not cyclists. Be that as it may, really enjoyed the video, as ever. Lovely to see Billy playing in the beck.
