I had forgotten how inept these two masters were. Little wonder why Otake Risuke Sensei took the authorities to Hatakeyama and shut him down nearly two decades ago.

Je débute dans l étude du TSKSR. Je comprend pas dans le premier kata Kusanagi no ken "couper l'herbe". Certain maître effectu la première coupe basse et d'autre plus haute? Sugino avant le Chiburi revient avec son sabre en seigan alors que je vois certain pratiquant garder leur lame en bas. Malgré ma débutance extrême je vois là des grandes différences. C'est troublant. Je vais faire comme mon prof m'a montré dans le style de Sugino et on vera bien d ici trente ans si je commence à piper quelques chose au Katori. Merci pour ces archives en tout cas.

Si tu débutes, le mieux est toujours de faire ce que le prof te dit et te montre. Ce qui est bon pour les pratiquants avancés ne l'est pas forcément pour les nouveaux. Il ne s'agit pas de dire qu'il faut cacher des choses à ceux qui commencent, simplement que bien souvent, trop de détails et de variantes nuisent à l'apprentissage. Le rôle du professeur est justement de savoir ce qui est bon à transmettre à l'instant T. En tant qu'élève, il ne faut certes pas avoir une foi aveugle mais plutôt une confiance tacite dans l'enseignement. Je me permets quelques propositions. Pour la première coupe, l'attaque est sune, mais cette zone de frappe va en fait du genou à la cheville. Du fait de la posture en iaï goshi, une coupe à hauteur d'épaule atteindrait le genou de teki, une coupe plus basse atteint sa cheville. Toutes deux sont des sune. A la fin de chaque kata de iaï après le todome il y a trois phases: zanshin, chiburui, noto. Certains marquent zanshin en revenant en seigan, d'autres non. L'important c'est d'avoir cette attitude de zanshin, la position du sabre est pour ainsi dire secondaire. Je trouve qu'il est plus facile de faire kaiten chiburui en seigan qu'avec la pointe baissée ce qui pourrait expliquer cela. Si tu as un professeur, pose ces questions directement, fie toi d'abord à sa parole plutôt qu'à ce que tu trouves sur internet. Au final ce n'est pas sur internet que tu pratiques mais au dojo! J'ai aussi connu, aimé et pratiqué avec Goro, qui était effectivement un être délicieux, plein de gentillesse, d'humour et d'attention pour ses élèves, indépendamment de ses incontestables qualités martiales. C'est l'une des personnes dont je regrette le plus la disparition.

Ces gens n'ont jamais appris à couper. Pas d'utilisation du corps, seuls les bras travaillent, pas de fixation du bassin, on se laisse emporter par son élan en fin de coupe etc. etc. Du très grand amateurisme pour ne pas dire du grand n'importe quoi.

Sugino bastardised katori shinto ryu to the point where it is unrecognisable from the original teachings. Nothing he does here is correct. Every single technique he does is wrong and yet you all laud him as some kind of master. Utter rubbish and blatant false teaching deserves nothing but ridicule!

@@thefunfairvip Sugino Sensei is the man who wrote the first complete textbook on Katori Shinto Ryu with the approval and support of the entire expert council and the patriarch of the school himself in 1941. And you say that he did not understand the art? I would recommend that you study the issue fully, and not repeat stupid things after people who distort the truth.

Yes, he spins it 360 to flick the blood off, and then strike the handle to remove any other lumps of flesh. It's very slick the way he does it. It's a standard thing with Katori Shinto Ryu. Very different to the blood removal technique in Iaido. He also wipes the back of the blade on his jacket while re-sheathing if you watch closely....

Chiburui (blood shake)was more for performance and entertainment purposes, in real life the swordsmen wouldnt use it, they would wipe it of with a cloth. Thats because you cant shake of blood from a blade and it wouldnt even be that much blood on it either.

@@karstenseterbakken3617I personally think it would actually depend on the particular swordsman, I'm sure the classic air strike to sling it off was used plenty & definitely during battle as it's a quick method to remove most of it and then worry about the rest later when you know combat is over. Looking at pretty much any profession in life majority of people have their own techniques & tricks, most of these examples are like you mentioned for performance & also tradition.

do I see it propperly that when at the end of the form he "hits" the katana with his right hand, he turns it 360° to get rid of the blood? Does he turn it or just hits it a little without real turning the complete sword ?

I know that this was left seven years ago, though I shall answer. He spins his sword a full 360° and then taps it one last time, wiping the spine of the blade on his clothing at one point or another as well.

Merci j'ai téléchargé cette video pour mes archives. C'était le style de Iaido que je pratiquais à partir de 1964 chez mon maître et celui enseigné par Aritoshi Murashige qui faisait partie du BUDOSENYOKAN avec O.Sensei. Je pense que dans les années 1970 Mtre Moshizuki faisait le même style également. Nous avons également conservé la partie KENJITSU et l'ancien KATA de KENDO de cette école. (Car le kata de kendo actuel est une sorte de fusion des style) Merci

Oui ce kata est très bien exécuté et montre bien les différentes ouvertures possibles que l'on peut exploiter. La musique c'est "Tanshi", de K. Sugawara / E. Takezawa / M. Yagi
