I remember we called them click clacks that were made out of resin the same way that made those ugly giant bunches of grapes they would get two glass round balls pour the resin and put string in and Tye two on a ring and there you go click clacks the problem was the resin would shatter and get into your eyes cutting them and ruining your summer.

@walter6574 once I held similar views but no longer. Arrogance, petulance and ego wars have sullied reputations. No doubt his dark lyrics were instrumental in leading the way but Waters demanded sole creative credits and full control. Yet Gilmour's amazing melancholic licks and Wright's soaring atmospherics and Mason's back beat were also critical ingredients. Agree PF were not as compelling after Waters left, but likewise Waters solo work without the other members never found the creative heights that would be expected if he was the sole creative genius he claims. Indeed, there was a creeping decline in PF albums as Waters control grew stronger. As good as The Wall is it's not their greatest, and The Final Cut was hardly a PF album but marked Waters solo run. His solo work is barely discussed and any concert from any of them would be remiss without the classics.

My pre-teen and teen times were in the 70's and I remember oh too well when I would run across the street from my dad's mechanic shop, where I pretty much grew, to the liquor store to buy myself a Coke and bag of chips. Although the owner wouldn't normally allow kids in his store, he allowed me because he knew my dad. And even crazier, I needed to watch the last episode of Roots for homework one evening but my dad was working late at the shop. So I politely and nicely just walked down the block to a bar and the owner was cool with it because I was friends with her daughters at the time. Great walk down memory lane.

When we watched Stranger Things season four, we were thrilled to hear The Beach Boys version of California dreaming, because my wife told me all about this and we refused to listen to hear this incestuous paedophile sing again.

That Land of the Lost movie was garbage. Land of the Lost was a brilliant concept, a constructed universe that occasionally opens up across time and space swallows dinosaurs or people or aliens. It would have made a great serious sci fi franchise for Gen X fans. But no, Hollywood had to do some slapstick garbage and destroy it for a few bucks. It basically a big F U to Gen X fans.

Enjoyed this. My mom and dad used to let me steer the car. All of my major injuries to this point, are from my daredevil kid bicycle stunts. I rode miles from my house on my bike all alone. I miss the music and TV shows especially. Don’t miss all of the smoking everywhere. Also, I went ahead and learned metric, voluntarily. Finally, I miss my family and older people that I grew with and that taught me well. I owe so much to them. Cheers.

Avon for girls, so creative back then. Tiger Beat. Donny and Marie, all the variety shows. Talk shows, with content and great hosts. Records you'd cut out of the back of a cereal box. Lite Brite. Playing on slides outdoors, that would burn your butt going down and monkey bars , steel merry go rounds, with concrete underneath. Making insects and butterflies out of hot goo you'd pour into molds, they were wiggly. And all those amazing and unique commercials! They held up those commercials. Mom sewing our clothes on a Singer sewing machine, using Simplicity and Butterwick patterns. Tonka trucks for boys. Tons of cool cereals and snacks. The fast food chains, all had a distinct look and traits. We all wanted to be us, individuals, now most everyone follows, wants to all be the same, robot culture. Good movies, TV shows, all sorts of quality music in every category. And, school teachers were intelligent. Pledged allegiance to our flag, and school prayer. The pencil sharpener. Clocks on the walls and school kids could tell time back then. And cursive, we knew how to write. Books , those heavy books, I miss them. So much, so much lost, only in our memory now. I'm so thankful I'm my age now and know what it is to be human and live.

As an ex-British soldier who has been on active service, I can assure you that soldiers often use black humour to counter often horrendous situations and on the BBC,M.A.S.H. was not presented as a comedy and the laughter track was removed, and it was shown without adverts on the BBC and I think that most soldiers understood the black humour in M.A.S.H. and could relate to it and, no, Klinger was not gay or gender bending and did not come across as gay or gender bending in British army terminology, he was "trying to work his ticket", IE, get the army to discharge him. I loved the portrayal by Alan Arbus of Doctor Sidney Freedman and Harry Morgan as Colonel Potter, but the whole cast just made it very believable and a masterpiece of television.
