Amazed at such a well explained video and two years after posted and I am the first to comment. Well done video, thank you sir!
Thank you very much, Shane. We're happy you found it helpful and informative; and, we appreciate you taking the time to leave the first comment as well!

Hey can you explain the benefits and and effecfs of a heavy club over a mace? Besides being able to swing below, the waist and i understand the 1 handed or double club benefits.. i just mean 2 hand heavy club. It feels to me like more hypertrpphy in the arms and the length makes the 360 faster with a smaller circular movement. The benefits of maces n clubs go beyond ROM and shoulder health but its hard to really explain. Also i guess clubs train wrist rotation under load which makes it unique

@@WhiteLionAthletics scary exercise for me though
do you think coming out of the post terrier tuck and into a anterior tilt would lengthen the hamstrings and be more beneficial? awesome video ❤
Thanks for the video. However, the bar still slides from my left grip, and I don’t think the straps are helping with more than two extra reps. Any tips for me??!
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. A couple of things could be happening and the first one is that the strap on your left hand is not as tight as the one on the right period sometimes it happens that we can get one strap tighter than the other so if this is the case be sure that both straps are equally tight on the bar. The other issue might be your grip on your left side is not as strong on your right side. You would likely realize this while doing other lifts. So if this is the case some dedicated training for the grip strength and endurance on your left side would be appropriate to balance out the performance between your hands when lifting.
Awesome ! Great pinch grip ! Respect from Poland !
So great to hear from you! Thanks very much for taking the time to watch the video and let us know your thoughts on it! All the best with your training!
Any chance for more variations in weight to purchase with the Bulava?
Hello! Thank you very much for the question! We would recommend signing up for our email because as that's where we'll be announced the new product drops.
I recently started doing this. And after about 2 weeks I can already tell a difference in my grip strength and shoulder endurance.
Thank you very much for letting us know! Using a reasonable weight load consistently with this exercise can bring great results! Looking forward to hearing more about your success in the future!
What does this kettlebell weigh?
20kg here (44lbs). Thank you very much for watching and leaving a comment! Much appreciated!
Would it be more engaging for the chest if done on a bench? As elbow's range of motion is bigger compared to the floor?
Thanks for the video! Question what is the benefit of this exersize compared to a dumbell press? For me it looks like the dumbell press is better because of a greater range of motion?
Excellent question based on a great observation! A floor press (shown here) can be done with barbells dumbbells, kettlebells, sandbags .....for a (at least) a few great reasons. What we mean by great is that it can achieve a number of specific outcomes that might be desirable as a training effect. The Pause: Although there is a reduced range of motion with the floor press relative to one done on the bench, having your upper arm pause at the ground brings the movement to a complete stop before changing direction. This removes any potential momentum generated from bouncing at the bottom when your elbow travels, past your shoulder on a bench. You can definitely pause at the bottom of a dumbbell benchpress; but, the question is, will your elbow always be in the same position? The floor press allows your arm to pause at the same position at every rep.
Easy exit: Using the floor press also provides you with a safe and easy exit. If you cannot complete the repetition period all you need to do is straightener elbows and the dumbbells will come to the ground without having to travel a very large distance like they would if they were if you were on a bench. Why this kettlebell variation? The positioning of this kettle bell is seemingly controversial given some of the comments in the section. All those comments are definitely appreciated, as they do highlight many potential areas for risk for a user that is not familiar with positioning the kettlebell this way, or are in need of the specific outcomes that this press might be able to create if it is done consistently and safely. This type of grip would most accurately be described as a pinch grip. Because your fingertips are the main source of controlling the kettlebell. Almost all pressing is done with a crush grip where the object in your hand is being controlled by your palm and your fingers.
In closing, we would say that if oppressing exercise with a larger range of motion is required than the floor press is not one that might be pursued on a regular basis. If this specific exercise is being considered , doing it on a floor where there is a safe and easy exit , as well as a noticeable pause at the bottom would be a nice option because it is relatively safer than trying it on the bench. Introducing this exercise might be considered if the user is interested in doing the press that requires a pinch grip , which is a unique style of grip when we are pressingconsidering that almost all pressing requires a crushing grip.
@@WhiteLionAthletics Thanks a lot for the long awnser! I still have my toughts about this exercise, but i understand your point of view also better now!
Good info. The engineer in me appreciates the calc. I'm just getting started and I'm thinking of grabbing something closer to bulava lengths. I figured I'd cut the difference and be able to incorporate some movements from club and mace. This vid helped a lot!
Thank you for taking the time tp watch and thank you for the comment here. You could definitely cut them; but, the weight would change slightly. The Bulava is a great option for all swings that can be done with a Steel Club as well as the Mace.
@@WhiteLionAthletics Heh I didn't mean literally cut. Funny to picture though. I'm looking at a few adjustable but you guys have reasonable prices on set weights so I'll keep you in mind! E: I realized I meant to say "Split the difference" heh
@philmakesnoise 🤣 ok! Thank you for clarifying! Hoping we can assist in the future!
@@WhiteLionAthleticsI have a adex mace do you think the shape makes it less affective because it's not a globe ?
@troymatthews9541 Adex is solid product with a thoughtful design. The concentration of the majority of our Bulava's weight load is different and so is the balance point. Depending on the handle length and weight, our Bulava may require more torque. We hope this explanation is helpful! Thank-you very much for taking the time to leave your question!
Until it busts you in the face bro
You showing how you get the kettlebell down to the ground was goodnfor me! I tried once other day before seeing your video and nearly caused a bad strain with way i did it
Thank you very much for taking the time to let us know that this video was helpful for you. All the very best for your training and stay in touch in case you need any questions answered or need feedback!
@@WhiteLionAthletics thankyou!!
Great compilation. ❤👍
Thank you very much for taking the time to watch and let us know!
is it fine to just seal the bag without vaccuming?
You could seal the bag with duct tape or something similar. It's definitely worth a try because if al sand does come out it's not the end of the world :)
Are you saying the sealer won't heat seal without vacuum sealing or are you saying the heat seal is not going to be strong as duck taping?
The sealer will melt the seal without vacuuming it. that's how you close the other side of the bag so we definitely know that it will work that way.
@@WhiteLionAthleticsthanks for explaining to me, I don't know how the sealing device works since I've never used one. About duct tape, is it to ensure the seal doesn't break when you don't vacuum seal it?
@Projectdarksource you're very welcome! Duct tape is recommended for 2 reasons. The first reason is to seal the bag, and the second reason is to actually reinforce the plastic on the bag . duct tape. Being abrasion resistant will hold up longer than the actual plastic will. So you can use the plastic bag as a container for the sand - if you will - and the duct tape will reinforce the plastic bag as well as seal the bag so it does not spill everywhere.
Finally someone with less talk and straight to point
Thank you very much! We definitely like this approach more than speaking through instructional!
Hello, thank you for the informative video. I hava a very tight hamstring, I guess iti is due to elongated sitting while working for 27 years. I would like to ask how often and for how long should I try this? I really do not want to go overboard or the opposite. Thank you very much.
Interesting. I need to try that. I'm probably only person in my local gym who uses the kettle bells for what they were made for, not just glutes and thigh workouts lol
This is much more approachable than people might think - Very happy to hear that you are training with kettlebells! If you start off with a kettlebell in the 4kg to 8kg range (the cast iron kettlebells. Being much smaller than competition bells ) will allow you to most likely tackle this exercise with coffense. if you do have some apprehension, also applying some chalk on your hands before we'll make things more manageable.
Best sign off I’ve ever seen 😂
Thank you very much for watching until the very end! Have a great evening!
@@WhiteLionAthletics thank you for the succinct & helpful video! And you do the same!
The principal of what?
This process is called irradiation - it's the process in which muscles in one part of the body can be “recruited” by the actions of other body parts through neuromuscular pathways. In this example, a strong grip recruits all of the upper extremities, allowing for better strength and stability.
@@WhiteLionAthletics awesome! Thank you so much for the reply, now to do some research! Keep Up the great content 💪🏽
Will do! Irradiated is absolutely fascinating and essential! Once you start thinking about it, how you lift (and how you think about what you lift) will change forever! 📈📈
That doesn't look safe at all bro
Scared to hold the KB like that
start light. Focus on your grip; core stability and shoulder stability. It's more manageable that it seems :)
Put your foot in the band. Much easier
I bought this to replace a very similar item whose foam grips had worn after years of use. kzread.infoUgkxwyoGHi-cCLV1AqJYj7QeIWKSpdRMYPF1 This one is is even slightly better than the old one I had! (Sorry I don't remember the brand or model.) This bar sits a bit higher in the doorway, giving me more ground clearance for movement, and the foam grips and foam pads that protect the doorway are thicker. It was also very quick and easy to assemble. The only minor gripe I have is that the hand grips in the middle are really tight on the bar, and therefore hard to slide along the bar if you want a wider or narrower grip. You have to be patient and gradually work them into the position you want.
How many times a week should i do this routine to fix my slight scapular winging ??
Thanks man...i should get stronger faster for i am 299lbs,
what's the audio track??
Roses (Imanbek Remix)
Can I use these while training biceps
Perfect! Short and sweet.
Very informative, thank you.
Dude at 0:35 when you are showing how to put it on you drop your hand out of the video and then fliping your hand back and forth I can't tell how you got the strap orientated
I love this methodology, however, should've used two green bands and doubled them over.....maybe 4x'd them over and use even light bands yet.......thanks.
I am so stoked I came across this tutorial. I haven't included the snatch in my KB training because I could never grasp how to do it without banging up my wrist. This morning, I gave it a shot after seeing this and was so excited by the second time I was actually starting to flow with it. Thank you for such a great resource.
Those straps do nothing for me. When my hand opens, the straps unfold and the bar falls on the floor (of course i stop the set before) but yeah...gonna return them and buy other types of grips.
Does using straps help with calluses? It’s getting hurt badly that it heals slower than my actual deadlift muscles
You should be proud of your calluses!
Thank you! It's crucial what you have said and showed. But still not so many people are aware of the importance of forearm and wrist strength. The same with shoulders and rotator cuff. Respect 🇵🇱🏆👏
Was looking for it for days, thanks a lot brother
That band-loaded bench press was a joke. The band was slack most of the time.
PS... don't use either device to skip leg day 🙂
Good comparison. With independent straps the anchor points can be anywhere along a line if desired. TRX is a brilliant system and their patented strap works well for a single point device.
Back in the day... I loved the rings. Wanna' get these.
Good for posture!
That's my weakest link. My hips
When do you find this to be the case?
