I find Yamato's characterization both puzzling and troubling. I'll preface this by noting that I refer to her as female because I'm not convinced she's trans or, if she is, her basis for it comes from an unsettling place. As a female born in Wano and raised amongst pirates who only valued strength, Yamato never got to truly experience being a girl. By the age of 8, she'd seen her father conquer a nation and execute its most prominent figure. Her few interactions with her father likely involved beatings, training, or both, and she was expected to take over as the puppet shogun of Wano whenever Kaido decided to rub out Orochi, which I suspect is the real reason why he and the rest of the Beast Pirates refer to her as male, as only a man is allowed to hold that title (and is frustrating, as I felt Hiyori not only earned the right to be the next shogun, but would've been quite progressive in taking a wrecking ball to that glass ceiling.) She was referred to as the "oni princess" at least until her double digits, which is likely when she started identifying as "Kozuki Oden" (and we'll touch on THAT later.) The one person who tried to show her compassion was murdered and left as a warning for anyone who dared do the same, which I imagine is pretty traumatizing for any 8 year old. She's left in a cave with three daimyo who despise her father and know her relation to him, with the expectation that they'll kill her as vengeance fir the death of Oden. Instead, they not only spare her, but break her bonds, feed her, teach her about their culture, and even entrust Oden's journal to her before sacrificing themselves to ensure her survival. From this journal, she learns of the life and travels of Kozuki Oden and becomes obsessed, to the point of changing her identity to match his. And this is where I think Yamato's characterization is mishandled. If she chose to identify as male because it was more in line with how she saw herself, that'd be one thing. However, she LITERALLY sees herself as some who already existed, and that comes across as an unhealthy obsession to me. Imagine a little girl who was so enamored with the life of Christopher Lee, that she not only changed her pronouns, but realigned every aspect of her life to match his, and demanded to be referred to and thought of as that man. Am I the only one who thinks that's be a bit much? Where I thought the story was going was that Yamato would need to learn that she can't just copy/paste someone else's life/identity on to her own, and just go from there. We are all unique individuals, and we should embrace what makes us, us, not try to be someone else entirely. She could've redefined who Yamato is, rather than see the name as baggage from her dad. Instead, she's latched herself on to the Kozuki wagon in a rather troubling way, and I fear Oda has no plans to address this issue.

I still find him incredibly bland, even after your great video. Survival of the strongest isn't a type of villain I gravitate towards. Also his flashback was way too short and simplistic to give him real depth and uniqueness.

I dont know if Luffy is asexual, it could just be that he just doesnt get consumed by his desire for lust especially makes sense since he literally God - Nika and the freest in the sea i.e. liberated which in Dharmic religions means he is not affected by desire or maybe because that is not his priority right now and may even hinder his adventure. I would imagine Hancock's technique would not work on Zoro or legends like Rayleigh either who are clearly heterosexual (look for when zoro started blushing when Kuina started talking about her boobs growing bigger)

If I have to say the one aspect I find so god damn appealing about Luffy then it is this, there isn't a tyrant, bully or dickhead in the story Luffy won't deck across the face. No matter how powerful you are or how high status Luffy won't hesitate to clap your cheeks.

I think there is some difference where Corazon and Doflamingo part ways, Why is corazon so different when we talk about principles? I think it has something to do with a story before they became "humans" or maybe during it. How he perceived it is entirely opposite from Corazon, we need some more story from Oda about what changed him when he was in Marie joi maybe? I think the main difference lies when Trebol meets doflamingo when doffy is a child, thats where corazon and doffy part ways.

I was just wondering whether Doffy did manipulate Senor's Pink's life story too, because he doesnt want Pink to have a family and stop being doffy's executive , i think he can go as far as manipulating the conditions at Senor Pink's home so that his wife goes into a coma and their child dies. we just cant find out lol. but this thought does seem like something doffy would do. such a chaotic character.

I can’t even begin to imagine the stat hats feeling if they saw Luffy at this moment (mourning Aces death) I think Nami, Ussop and Chopper would break quite frankly, thye would cry, thye would feel helpless and probably lock themselves away or try distract themselves. Zoro and Sanji woukd not only get upset but immense rage at themselves and probably start breaking themselves training trying to get better.

p-prettyy... 👉👈 BUT ALSO. Kaido is the fucking GOAT. This is a character that not only completely the complete antithesis of Luffy, but also a foil representing the abominable levels of good that Luffy represents. The recruitment of King and Zoro are a great opposites of each other. Kaido saved Alber because he was strong, he could see what he could go through and not only still keep kicking, but still keep fighting against. Luffy saved Zoro because he saw the heart of a demon and could smile as he did so, he liberated someone who didn't deserve his fate (just as Alber didn't) and shared with him his dream.
