Time is Relative, especially when you're spending it on a hobby you enjoy. This channel is created to primarily showcase watch reviews that I have created.
I love everything about this watch, except for the fact that it's too small for a man wrist. I would like it to be 42 or 43 mm wide.

To understand the gold dial you have to understand the country of its origin, Thailand. In Thailand 24k gold is considered an omen of good luck to come, it is everywhere from Thai wahts to statues and almost every Thai man and women wears 24k gold. When children turn 1 years old the closest family member aunts grandparents will give the child necklaces or bracelets of 24k gold as to bring them good luck in the future. So a Thai watch with a 24k gold dial would be a omen of good luck.

does anyone know if this watches are ISO compliant for diving?
@RelativeTime2 күн бұрын
Neither of them are. As far as I know, helm is the only micro that goes through the ISO process. These days Seiko and Citizen are your best bet for a watch with that. Even Orient has stopped doing it on the few watches they had with it. And that's not to say these watches aren't as capable or built to a lesser quality. I think more of it competition is stiff, and the added cost of testing is why they aren't doing it.

At $555, it's expensive. With that amount, you can get a vintage original Elgin, Waltham or Bulova. Bulova came out with a modern A-11 (Hack) at $274. Dial is blue though. And yes, you can get a Hamilton for less than that. The superb quality of the Field Mechanical Auto is not even comparable. If you are set on an A-11 homage, there's Baltany. Sure, it's bigger at 38mm, but it only costs $175.

Ive bought this along with bambi japan leather croco pattern strap black. Been wearing it everyday as a daily beater. It complements the panda dial more than the steel bracelet. Loving it ever since. The solar with the sporty diver bezel is icing on the cake!

Great, succinct review! Quick question: Is it possible to set a COUNTDOWN TIMER, which continues to be graphically displayed, whilst still just displaying the CURRENT TIME on the main numeric display? <--- This feature, if it can do it, would push me to buy this watch.

Every time watch one of your videos I come up with new ways to spend money that I shouldn't be spending on watches. I obsessed all weekend about the A1200 Royal, and used their design app to see the combinations possible, and just when Id narrowed it down to three likely candidates, I find this 1600 which I never knew about, and like THAT one better because the time and date display is larger. Im 56 years old and my eyesight isnt getting any better, and without glasses, its tough to see that small digital markings. I'm probably gonna do a 1600 with a new case and band mod now.

i used to be a watch snob, it's automatic analogs all the way (no quartz analogs too)... however, now i'm at a certain age wherein i find analog timepieces to be difficult to read (especially in dim environments) and maintain (having to adjust it on a monthly basis) so i have now gained a certain appreciation for digital timepieces more and more... i haven't forgotten about my first love of automatics, it's just that i've gained more respect for its digital brethren...

I’m not a watch nerd or aficionado, so I don’t know enough about the movement types to properly evaluate this watch’s movement. But I know what I like and I like what I see on the Vario except the lack of luminosity on the dial (it fades too quickly and I would have preferred the illumination of the watch dial numbers) and the etching on the back cover….the use of British soldier carrying the Union Jack flag to the surrender of Singapore evokes defeatism and does not celebrate 1945 (Victory over Japan). I hope Ivan rethinks his symbolism on the watch back cover.
