    Hi please give Advice I’m currently at high Ds with a few low Cs I want a A but need a B do you think it’s possible? And what would you recommend I should do.

  • @gradefruit
    @gradefruit15 күн бұрын

    Hi! Yup it is definitely possible! Well, to give you tailored advice I need to better understand your situation, such as your study methods, how do u spend time studying, what exactly do u do to study etc. But I think you should ask yourselves those questions too - how are you spending your time 'studying; and then from your exam papers (those that show that u got Ds and Cs), look through and look deep into why you got it. Break things down, and find out WHY you scored what u scored - is it u didnt write keywords in your answers, had misconceptions, etc. Then work on those! This way, you will know that once u fix these problems, your problems will immediately go away and your grades will immediately go up! But till then, I would say spend time to reflect, introspect and find out what's exactly holding your potential back. If need be, do drop me an email at [email protected] with your exam papers so I can take a look! :)

    Hello I cannot seem to memorize the organic part of chemistry a level. What tips can you give me please? I’m so discouraged 😢

  • @catloverfinalboss
    @catloverfinalboss22 күн бұрын

    do topic wise questions for the organic part, the more you solve them the easier it is for u to memorize them...even if u dont...going back and forth will eventually result to u having memorized them. consistency is the key

  • @gradefruit
    @gradefruit21 күн бұрын

    Hi! No no no this is not the time to be discouraged, stick with me: 1. For organic chemistry, its important you try to spot patterns and find whats common. For eg, u will realise in most reduction reactions, LiAlH4 in dry ether keeps appearing so then u can make the link that hey i can keep reusing this when i need to reduce things. Do this not just for reagents and conditions but also look carefully at how the functional grps change - what is added, or subtracted away. For eg, in reduction reactions, H is added, but for oxidation, O is added/H is subtracted. Hence, u wont need to rote memorize as much, once u see common principles that u can apply to any organic compound. 2. Do hands-on practice to build muscle memory > memorise. Like what @catloverfinalboss said, yes practice practice and practice. This way u can get instant feedback on what u know and dont know, its super effective. Dont be stuck in the trap of being an ‘eternal student’ where u r jus studying but not applying and practicing. I hope this can help…my wish is that i could have time to make videos addressing problems like this but currently im stretched and occupied by life, but i promise it will come!! In the meantime, all the best! Lmk if u hv anymore questions:)

    Damn thats rough man, but theres still time!! you're not cooked yet. Here's what I'll do: 1. know what you need to know (what is expected of you from the syllabus) 2. just start practicing exam questions under timed conditions (just like the exams) 3. once done, REWRITE OUT all your corrections, take note of what's missing from your answer, according to the answer key. And if you realise you are weak/forget some parts in a chapter, go back to your lecture notes and study it again (do spend more time on this step - actual learning takes place here) 4. rinse and repeat 5. pray for the best

  • @gradefruit
    @gradefruitАй бұрын

    Yes for sure!! It is possible. I would recommend quickly applying what you’ve learnt/read in your lecture notes, checkpoint by checkpoint. For example, after subtopic or concept A, do many questions and make mistakes to reinforce and strengthen your foundation, before moving on to the next thing. Personally i dont really use flashcards so I cant really advise you on that, but what worked for me was the heavy drilling in the practice
