    My grandpa owned this truck from about 1990-2004. It was used on the farm to haul grain and ran otr produce all over the eastern half of the US. We added the red dot ac on it in the mid 90's

    Oh man, so glad you found this video! I bought this truck out of Nevada. I figured since it looked to be rot free that it must have spent more of it's life out west. Please tell me you have some pictures of it! Did you grandpa have the paint job done?

    Super cool wagon,someone took care of her. Sadly almost all the 60s,70s and 80s wagons were used as demo cars,parts cars for 2 doors or for their driveline. My dad had almost entirely all chevy wagons but he had a 74 dodge with the woodgrain and a 440 ,a 75 Chrysler or Plymouth wagon with wood grain and a 73 Ltd country squire even though he hardly drove them as chevys were and are his heart ? I'm looking for a classic chevy wagon 65 or 66 but I have 2 dodge magnum wagons (06 rt,07 sxt) which I love . All wagons are awesome, thanks for posting

    Yup, Pops had one. I remember him teaching me how to drive in it, and once surrounded by semis on a highway in Toronto, CA. My dad had nerves of steel.🙂

    I saw this comment posted in a for sale listing on Bring a Trailer for another 77 chrysler wagon and thought I would share it here as I remember hearing many of these myself while traveling in the wagon growing up: MobileHomey Echos… “Are we there yet?” “I get to sit up front this time!” “He stole my ___” “They forgot my fries!” “But but but….” “How come HE gets to ___” “We need 500 cupcakes for the sale tomorrow” “Your Father….” “Because I SAID SO” “Well if that’s how you feel then you can ____” “Go straight to your room” “Some help with the groceries please” “Stop staring at your brother” “Why you keep hitting yourself?” “He threw up” “Ewwww Cooties” “GI Joe with Kung Fu Grip!” “Santa can see it on page 87 of the Sears book” “But MOM!” “It’s exactly where you left it” “I Love You” “She loved you so much”

    My dad had this exact vehicle, minus the 8-track. He kept it into the 90s because he wasn't a truck guy. He did haul 4x8's when doing home upgrades. We made many long road trips, longest being Menominee, Mi to Boston. He LOVED that car. The rest of us hated driving it. My best friend's family had it in white with a brown interior. They referred to it as "The Battlestar" as in Galactica!

    When I was in Highschool in the Eighties, dad owned a combination repair shop/body shop. One of his customers had a '76 T&C wagon that he had taken PERFECT care of from new... But he had an accident with it by running it into his garage door and ruining the grill, fenders and hood. The insurance company TOTALED it and since I happened to need a car, I ended up buying it for a whole $250 cash. I also bought a wrecked '78 New Yorker Brougham for $150 that had been rear ended and also TOTALED by the insurance company. They were both Dove Grey cars and the '78 had the cool Waterfall grill, hidden headlights and the grey button tufted leather interior. So the wagon went into Dad's body shop and the entire front end of the '78 went on the '76... We transferred the side moldings and even installed new fake wood "DiNoc" on the sides. We did the Switcheroo on parts of the interior, swapping in the leather seats for the old vinyl ones... Dad's upholsterer reskinned the wagon's rear seat with the cover from the '78 sedan. Gotta say that it was one of the classiest station wagons I've ever seen... And I miss it like crazy.

  • @johnlucas5171
    @johnlucas51717 ай бұрын

    Oh man how cool is that! I was always surprised they weren't offered with the waterfall grills and high interior trim offerings like the other chryslers of that era. If you have any way of finding your VIN of your old wagon it may be able to be tracked down to the last/recent titled owner.

    The body style actually started in 74. My parents ordered a 74 from the factory, white with brown interior and wood sides. This was the car I learned to drive in. If you can parallel park this beast you can park anything. :)

    I started driving with ConWay Intermodal in 92, this was the first truck assigned to me. Air start, 6 speep, no AC, no power steering, it beat the hell out of me. I would bobtail all over the state to pick up empty trailers and hauled a lot of feathers and apple chips. Seeing this really make me appreciate what I drive now, but this truck was a great introduction to driving, the short wheelbase made for easy maneuvering in tight spots. With power steering it would have been on par with a yard goat. Thanks for sharing your video, this really brought back somememories.

    Yeah neat old car well cared for needs some minor attentions on a few items the Chrysler Trio of that era actually exibited some unique engineering accolades to quote the late Lido Anthony Iacocca Chrysler actually employed some great engineers but their automobiles lacked a balanced design their engineers in the various departments did not communicate well with the other departments down the hall these people needed to be sleeping togeather but they were not even flirting you had the audio entertainment department working on premium stereo radios but the people that were working on the HVAC system were putting out noisy blower components Electric window & seat motors that would wake the dead to me the CHRYCO trio were Boulbous & ugly now the Quadrupelets Clam shells over at General Motors were unique & popular/ unpopular in their own right they had excellent rearward visibility but some people thought that clamshell / fishbowl was ugly & when those got past a few years that whole glide away system had problems that made a lot of people go CHRYCO or FoMoCo but GM abandoned that concept after 1976 now to me Ford had the best & coolest Full sized wagon design in the industry the Country Squire & Colony Park models are the cream de La cream 😊

    My parents had two Town & Countrys that they bought new- a red 1972, and a 1975, the same color as yours. Our `75 had the optional 400, and no cornering lights. It had factory carpet on the tailgate door also. I can't remember if it had Autotemp or not. Man, your car really brings back memories. My parents sold their `75 in 1979, the year before I started driving. I would so love to have one of those now! I'm in love with your car. Thanks for sharing.

    It's nice to see another one, but mine is a 77 Chrysler Town & Country Hearse I got for free helping my friends daughter with his estate. This was one of the cars he had. You mentioned some my have had a sun roof. Believe it or not my hearse has the optional sun roof! I hope to have it at the Mopar Nationals in the survivor class this is something you don't see every day at a car show. The same thing can be said about your vehicle. It's fantastic, now all is missing is a vintage travel trailer. In joyed the video.

    It’s amazing how well the styling has aged on these mid 70s mopars. We had a 1974 dodge Crestwood with beige paint and simulated wood siding. Try finding one of those these days. And we were always towing something with it, just like your family. I think it had a 360 in it. And I remember my dad always saying how thirsty the car was, it gulped down the gasoline.

    They were asking 12k. I ended up getting it for 10k. I would have like to got it 7-8k but it wasn't happening. I had found others for 4-6k but they were not in this kind of condition. The ones that were less money would have cost more to restore imo than paying 10k for this one. Since I have limited time for taking on projects I opted to spend the extra money and get one that was in good condition.
