Hello Mat - Excellent ride series, in fact, I'm watching the GDMBR series now for the second time around. :) and looking forward to your trip this year. I probably looked right over this detail about your bike, but what water bottle cages are you (did you) use on the GDMBR? I believe a follower suggested them to you but I just can't put my hands on that info! (Something to do with age, likely :)) I like the idea of not having to use Voile straps (as I do now) on my front fork tube cages. Thanks, Mike

People are often “over-biked” like they are over-everything-elsed. Last year I bought an old Moulton Stowaway for a song, and had a lot of fun stripping off the old paint and rust, applying a new coat of British Racing Green paint, and upgrading the stem, brake, and saddle. The rest of the bike, including the 2 speed rear hub were left original. I find this bike to be an excellent commuter, and with it’s front and rear racks, would be a good bikepacking rig. I remember a story of Brit who took Stowaway on a round-the-world tour, only to have the bike stolen in Australia. He ended up settling there (I guess he couldn’t get away without his bike), and, as far as I know, is still there today.
