These two together is awesome.
This is a lot of fun! And one of the funniest things about it is that the REAL Annie Oakley did indeed charm Frank Butler when they first met at a shooting contest - and SHE beat HIM at sharpshooting! Fortunately, the real Frank Butler was far more secure and confident than the fictional "Annie Get Your Gun" character, and the two remained happily married until her death at age 66. It's more than a little ironic that the real Frank (who was born in 1847) was far more modern in his outlook than the one in the 1946 musical! But honestly, I can't see the real Annie marrying a hypercompetitive so insecure that he could only be mollified by her failing at a sharpshooting contest. Women like Annie don't want to marry wimps - and the real Annie Oakley certainly didn't!
Which movie is this?
Mame
So f'n purrrfect. Love both u gals!
KZread really recommended this 50 years later 🤦🏾♀️
She didn’t have the wisdom of age and experience to pull off these lyrics !
She becomes the song! Her artistry is unmatched and the greatest voice in history! She evokes such emotion
Impresionante, la más potente mujer, voz, y mensaje de la canción...
2:52 if looks could Kill! 😅😅😅
She got so much better. She basically spoke the song in this performance. ❤ you Liza
Fantastic!. One of the greatest comic character songs ever written interpreted to utter perfection by Reba!
Omg Bea is gorgeous !
Can you parley Frances? Not me! I 💕 Liza!
It should have been Angela Lansbury rather than Ball.
She had such great performances on her show- she had Peggy Lee, who wrote this one, on this episode
These two women would have been great in Golden Girls together 😂
Nice camera work. Don't quit your day kob.
oops, don't, y'know, what you said there, lol hehehehe .....
Hermosa interpretación me encanta esa canción solo con ella
A fabulous swinging rendition of a top song!
What was the reason for the verse @1:02 being cut ✂ from the film?
It's such a shame that Lucy cast herself in this film instead of Angela Lansbury. It could have been an Oscar winner with Angela reprising her Tony-winning role.
THIS MUST HAVE BEEN WHEN SHE WAS DOING DRUGS & BOOZE WITH HALSTON AND STAYING AT STUDIO 54 AT ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT
Thank you for sharing this. You're the best. Please post more. Judy forever ❤
A LADYHAWKE SEGMENT? That's one of my favorite movies of all time!
Probably the softest Judy ever sang!!
Thank you 😊
GLORIOUS
It’s Great
Ugh, Bea wouldve made a FABULOUS Disney villain 😍
YES!
Pat Carroll was perfect as Ursula but Bea would’ve killed it too
Bea was actually offered Ursula, well, her agent was given the option and turned it down for Bea apparently. Next in-line was Elaine Stritch, she didn't work out, then Pat Carroll came in and killed it
@@HauntFreak13they chose Pat because she had the same sound as Bea. I wish Bea said yes, then two of my Disney favorites would have also been from the same musical. Bea as Ursula and Angela as Mrs. Tea Pot
Great personality
The fact that Lucy and Bea are in the same thing makes me happier. Lucy was an icon.
The reference to Alice B. Toklas and Gertrude Stein confused me. Vera and Mame are not lovers.
Beas wit was superb
Ironic lucille ball was always hard on casts and crew for perfection.....she should have fired herself from this role!!!!
At funerals, and I work plenty of them, IZ version is what is played. I like it but it is her version that will send me to Heaven.
They didn’t like each other!
Bea Arthur has so much presence. She just jumps out on the screen as a star.
Love those two Icons ❤
Sounds a lot like "Bali Ha'i from South Pacific.
They reused the melody from this song for the original west end run in 2022. It was rewritten into "Here in our hearts", a duet between Bonnie and Ted. After the show came back to London in 2023, the song was cut.
Before The Part If Happy Little Bluebirds Fly, The Birds Did Not Chirp During The Orchestra In Take 7
Take 7 May Have Too Much For A Sweet Girl Like Judy Garland Herself
Good Thing She Drank Water After That And Then Proceed For Take 6
During Take 5 Of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Judy Garland Coughed While Shot
This beautiful, classic Academy Award Winning Song recorded on October 7, 1938, is the best version ever! This song truly belongs only to Judy Garland! I am so glad the slower version was used in the final movie! Both versions are excellent!
It doesn't get any better than this! Judy Garland at only 16 who portrayed Dorothy Gale and Terry the female Cairn Terrier who portrayed Toto in the 1939 MGM classic movie The Wizard of Oz is pure movie magic!
This beautiful, classic Academy Ward Winning song truly belongs only to Judy Garland! The Octor7, 1938 recording is the best ever and so is this movie clip!
The legendary, adorable, beautiful, very intelligent and extremely talented Judy Garland is the perfect Dorothy Gale! Thank you for posting and sharing this beautiful, classic Academy Award Winning song and performance!
A great Broadway song.
I just found this tonight while going through The Judy Garland Show. This is episode 10. I am glad they did this.
