Great video! As a parent, this is right on! You have to PROVE that you can afford it and that you are mature enough to do it. And yes, it will take YEARS to do! Kids (and adults) get excited about things, but that excitement wears off. You can't let that happen when you own a horse. I had to do ALL of the calculations you did to convince my husband that we should get a horse for our girls (and me too!!!). Good job! You sound very mature!

I'm experienced enough to own a horse. I've taken care of a friends horse for about 2 years that was in like 2019. I've wanted a horse my whole life, I have enough time and money. I wrote letters to my parents and talked to them about getting a horse, my mom doesn't care. but my dad hates animals. I've been asking for about 5 days now. I know how much everything would cost and how much time I would spend with it. Still NO. I don't know what to do... I'm never gonna give up. But that just makes my dad even more irritated. I've been very respectful when he says no, and I don't get mad about what he says. So... what should I do?😢 I've tried everything. We have the money enough space for one, and time. I even asked for a mule because they are a little cheaper. Still NO. Please help me.😭😭😭😭 I will update y'all if I ever get one.

I dont have to pick a color and stick to it. No one does. People can do whatever they want in that area if its safe and allowed and doesnt harm the animal. Why do people have this attitude that you need to look or have your horse tacked in those most expensive or perfect way. People will judge you no matter what. And this feels like one of those people that will get annoyed about whatever you do and criticize it.

Ohh wow you did so much better ik once you got the rythem:):)great job!...to all the people saying it was her girth and the horse was wet...umm it was her balance as the horse landed that pushes her to far out of the saddle and then she lost her balance but if she was balanced the girth would not even matter! People can ride with no girth if your good enough so get your FACTS straight!!!!!!

One reason tack doesnt match, is that not everyone has a rich mommy a daddy. Maybe their budget is 1000 bucks and the horse cost 800, so they will happily take whatever tack friends and family loan or gift them. Or maybe they live in a quarter horse town where there are only big quarter horse bridles, so they have to use a pony bridle with a quarter horse browband to fit their arabians wide forehead and maybe the smallest breast collar they could find only comes in one color. Some people cant even afford even a saddle...oh and by the way, there are places that dont have riding schools, barns, and barn drama, so there are places where horses live out in a pasture where they can run and be horses instead of living in a jail cell, so that's how people can afford to keep a horse without having enough to buy a saddle. And like you said yourself while being the definition of hypocritical..riding shouldn't be about your tack. I think what is really going on is that you are jealous of people that have nicer things than you do while also looking down your nose at those who might have less nice things. And as far as the 3000 dollar saddle goes, 3 grand isn't that much for a saddle in the first place, maybe its adjustable and that rider wants a saddle that fits them well, and if it doesn't fit the next horse, they can sell that saddle and get another one or maybe that person just has a lot of money and wants the old school horse to be comfortable..in other words, maybe they are thinking about the horse instead of what the people around them think, which automatically makes them a better horseman. Not once did you say anything about the treatment of horses like, "I dont understand why people think it's ok to leave horses locked in cells..I mean stalls for 22 hours a day."

For number two: Who actually cares? The color is so unnecessary what's more important is that it fits the horse and that it's good for the horse. For example I just bought my first own horse and now I have a light brown side pull, a dark brown saddle, a red saddle pad and light blue horse boots. Why? Because they fit her and I can't spend all my money at once just because the equestrian world judges people because of the color of their tack. Honestly I thought what you were going to say in this video were things like all the abuse that's going on, how everyone starts to hate on beginners and how so many people promote illegal, dangerous and/or abusive behaviour.
