I was trying to think of where I’d heard of Bodega Bay and remembered I’d read the book The Beatles The Bible and Bodega Bay by local Ken Mansfield who use to work for The Beatles as their US rep. You can see him in the Let It Be film during rooftop performance in white coat. Having lived in Santa Cruz in 83/84 loving your walk along Pacific coast. Travelled the beautiful Highway 1 a few times. Coming from Downunder also travelled our own Pacific Highway 1, equally beautiful.

Bart- I’ve enjoyed following your journey. Thanks for your efforts to document your Camino. A question and a comment : First, I am considering the Podiensis for my ‘25 Camino. What is your advice vs. walking in Spain? Comment: I know you are deep into your Camino, and everyone is entitled to their little gripes but also remember to celebrate what is unique and lovely about Spain. Their pace and rhythm isn’t in any way American. But, that is also what makes it lovely. I will gladly wait for an amazing cup of Spanish coffee which is almost always incredible. I don’t want to drink McDonalds coffee in Spain. Even the siesta tradition, while sometimes inconvenient on Pilgrim time is awesome. They live differently than we do, but that is part of the beauty of being in Spain. Slowing down, savoring life on the trail. You will be back on a freeway in America soon enough….Buen Camino

I've long felt a call from the Camino, and the way you film and talk is just like being there. So thank you. When you said you've had a good life - so have I. So thank you again. Creepy doll in the window...that church had a LOT of stones forming the arches. That was pretty cool watching the shepherd with the goats following him. Please show more of the food. I like to see the food! Good tip on the peeing before entering town. It's like when you get home. So nice to hear someone say they’ve had a great life and appreciate that. You do though seem to have 3 Camino burdens- lack of heating in albergues, small coffee cups and bikes on the trail! I think the cheapest I’ve paid is $24. Usually in the $30s. The Camino today is massively different than the Camino three years ago, and WAY different than 10 years ago. Nigel hiked it in 2016, and constantly reflects on the changes. Basically, the Camino today probably has little in common with previous Caminos.

I am enjoying your videos and joining you on your walk. It is wonderful to re-visit the places i have seen on my Caminos My beef - you make a point daily about what is wrong with the Alburgues and/or how people enjoy their personal Caminos (like leaving / stopping early). I remind you you are paying 15 bucks for a place to sleep so I think you are getting exactly what you are paying for. For many this walk is not a hike but rather a journey of the soul so their perspective would be very different. Thanks for letting me share my views And thanks for sharing your journey

Still don't like community hostels. I like my tent. That is a long bridge. Good one with the gourd into the statue's mouth. Nice view from that hill of the 2 towns. That is a lot of work over a set of tracks. On the AT, you just walk over them. Just thought of this comment from an earlier video: I didn't like Nigel ringing the church bell. I'm not sure if they wanted people to ring it or not. That old foundation dig was interesting. I guess the locals have more clout with the business. After all, they come there daily...you? Once and then you are gone. Are those green lit crosses drug stores or weed dispensaries? I guess they are kind of the same. Green crosses here are all by the weed shops. Really impressive church. You have to wonder if building that church and doing all the artistic detail was a lifetime job. We were just by Pike's Peak and still lots of snow in the mountains. Yup on the slow walkers. On this trail, I could really move fast. I play Hotel California with a singer on my guitar but I'm not as good as the Eagles. John from MI

Hmmm, I was just at my son's and they tend to do as the Spaniards do...not eat until after 8:30 at night. I'm starving at 6. I read an article on how Europeans recognize Americans. One has to do with looking for shops and restaurants open late in the day. They are usually closed. Empty freeways...just drove around Chicago two times and each time, stop and go traffic on a multiple lane freeway. Spain, not so much. That bar sure had some good sized beers. John from MI

OMG. NOTHING worse than sewer gas where you are staying. It's times like these when I wish I didn't have nose hairs that absorb the smell!
