It's a shame there's nothing like that around here, I'd love to try to get myself a bunch of CB650 RC03 parts and have something to ride around the yard, would do nothing but play with it. Lol
I'm not sure what other bikes have that taillight that I really like. (I did see one in the video though)
Building memories and you guys must love ice cream.
I mean who doesn't
Look at the those heads on that Yamaha (look like DG?), very nice. Your 450 looks like a nice original bike, looking forward to you getting this one going.
I think DG is right
I think your ceramic filter is not allowing enough flow. Outside your tank looks as though you have rust on the inside. The only way to keep the rust out of your carbs is to install a glass fuel bowl/trap.
Ive definitely had an issue with those in the past but cant confirm that was the issue here. We cleaned what rust we could from the tanks in that time and ran filters
Squirt some pre mix into the jugs. The gas will help un-gum the rings and the 2 stroke oil will lube it up!!
Hey from the UK guys. What an amazing thing you have done there bringing those bikes back from the dead. So sad to see so many bikes in various states of disrepair. I've learnt a few things just from watching you guys. Safe riding.
Well im glad you enjoyed! I have many more how-to based videos on the channel if you have a quest for more info!
Fab vid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed!
I love this bike so much man ❤
🙏🙏
Very cool stuff, BJ! Keep up all this great work and have a wonderfully rewarding ride Sunday on the Gentleman's Ride! You will find the CB450 engine an interesting item to work on, valve clearances are set at a minuscule .0012" but a .0015" or .002" feeler gauge will work just fine. They are real touchy to set but will not clatter if set properly. Set your cam chain tension first. Will look forward to a video on getting it to run! Thanks man!
Im typing this at just before 7am Friday and am already itching to get to the shop to play with that bike
I think it is necessary to approach an older Motorcycles with “love”, understanding what they have gone through their rather long lives. I think in time they will (hopefully) begin to “love” you back. It is better that the owner handle such bikes themselves as mechanics are pressed for time & can get frustrated. I think this particular bike has a mind of its own & wants to frustrate people who get frustrated with it. 😊
Agreed. This bike has been very very reliable and just a peach to ride but after it started having that ignition issue all bets were off until I got it sorted
I too am going to DGR 2024 in Perth Western Australia, a great cause, Tally Ho Chaps...
Ride dapper good sir!
Absolute legends!
It was so much fun! Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for update at the shop. That is a beautiful Yamaha! 😎🙏
Hello there from Chicago
🤘🤘
It just needed some TLC
Exactly
Gunna have to make a trip up from Memphis whenever the bike is done, and also you have another get together
Heck yeah!
Based on your experience with vintage Honda bikes, would you recommend daily riding one?
Sure, if you are able to work on stuff you can keep am old one on the road with consistent tinkering and adjustments
@@BrickHouseBuilds I am mechanically inclined and can do most tasks. Would you consider making a video in the future about items that require constant tinkering and adjustment on vintage bikes, excluding the basics, i.e. oil change, chain lube?
Well id say instead of waiting for me to make a video specific to the subject before you make a decision here is a quick list: Adjust valves, adjust points, clean points, fuel filters, grease swingarm pivot/replace bushings if necessary, clean electrical contacts, change fork oil on occasion, replace bulbs when they fail, etc. Nothing impossible its just a bit more attention.
Why are you specializing only on working on Hondas specifically. Off camera do you do work on other name brands and more modern bikes as well
I actually work in a variety of stuff but said I am just most familiar with old Hondas. I know many of their flaws, have information on them, have parts, etc. Anything I work on is recorded and I have 350+ videos on the channel showing all the things I do.
@@BrickHouseBuilds noted. Much appreciated for the feedback👌🏼
Like the relaxed atmosphere of BIKE NIGHT . I ever get my 74 CB360 out, I'll check with on hunting some parts. Enjoyed the video BJ and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
🤘🤘
vinegar and graver/chain have worst methor clean tank, lot better and easy have use elektrolyse rust off in tank, lot better.
I prefer electrolysis and have made videos on it but it was not the best method for this tank
So cool showing all the bikes & bikers coming to your shop! San Antonia is a long ways! You can be very proud of all your successes & hard work! And see? It paid off!
Thank ya 🙏
Cool bunch of bikes, owned a CB 450 back in the day so very interested 🥸
Were excited about it!
Seth, so glad you got your baby back! She's a keeper!
He's pumped about it!
I started out on Japanese motorcycles working on them when I was a kid back in the 1970s, The biggest problem I had was bikes with multiple carbs on them and those thin gas tanks getting pin holes in them. It seemed like the best bikes were the single cylinder single carb bikes, Since then I have owned several Harley's and the build quality of the tanks and the frames are second to none, They are a lot heavier and slower in there cc class but one carb and no tank cream liners anymore sold me along with the exhaust note.
Why does this not have millions of views??
Not your business so fk off!
I'd have left the original turn signal's on, Yes those bars were awful, That king and Queen seat would have to go though 👍 An excellent job, very channel 👏 Cheers Paul 👍
Glad you enjoyed
Great video. Cool to get some props from the bearded mechanic
Was a good time!
Wouldn't it be possible to upgrade to electronic ignition rather than points?
Yes I talk about that in this video. The goal is originally for one but secondly an electronic ignition wouldn't work well if I didn't fix the issues it had
@@BrickHouseBuilds Cool i just figured since i have a VW bug that used to have points and had so many issues with them with constant maintenance so i switched to electronic ignition and the difference is night and day, no more misfires or loss of power. I do have a couple of bikes but never had one with points but assume same principle applies with that outdated technology.
I am planning on picking up a 82 gs550, says it needs a starter how hard of a job would you say it is to complete??
I highly doubt it needs a starter. It's likely either not making contact on the starter button or a bad solenoid
@@BrickHouseBuilds its listed for 400$ nearby and it would be my first bike would you recommend picking it up? Your videos have a ton of info on it so thank you first of all lol, and i figured you would be the guy to ask
Fucking awesome project and such a cool movie!
Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for hosting bike nite. Thanks for the leadership in DGR. Hopefully I can attend next year.
🙏🙏
Where this Jogme aircraft mechanic champion gone ? Just curious if he got his man-gina checked at the gyno clinic? We worry for you Jog-gina.
🤣🤣
wrok fast
Wow! What a cool place! Wish there was one near me in Philly😊
There may be. They can be hidden
a masterpiece!
Thank you!
I dont know that much about Suzukis but that seems like a really nice bike! Thanks for the beautiful ride. Good job on the bearing replacement!
Bandit 1200s are pretty sweet indeed
Thanks for showing all the bikes that turned up outside your shop. The BMW R50 reminded me of my friend who had a R100 Rs, what a bike.
That R50 was a German import. 2 owner in the same family. Was soooo clean
Seth's 1st bike looks like my hotrod CB350. It is a blast and you better hang on 1st to 2nd shift! I recently bought my 1st HD, a bike I have been familiar with for a few years and even worked on. 2007 customized Dyna with a 120R engine. It made 135HP and 139ft. lbs. TQ at the wheel when the ThunderMax ECU was tuned. Hanging on to that one is a challenge!
👍
Great stuff 😁👍👍
Yes I know it's a workshop but I had to laugh because from the footage it appears that all of those bikes are either in bits or non-runners. I know your CB750 is your daily but do you actually have any other bikes you can just hop on and take a ride without checking the validity of your life insurance first. I'm sure you do. Whatever happened to the Benelli?
I have many bikes I can jump on. I focused on the projects though because those are the ones always changing that people are asking for details on. The Benelli is still waiting as has been the story from day 1.
@@BrickHouseBuilds Thanks for the reply
Question? I think iI had a 1969 Honda 400 with high exhaust? Did such a bike exhist?😎
They made a cl450 which is likely what you are thinking of
Vão ultrapassar o limite de velocidade.... A propósito qual o limite nesta vias ?
We have speed limits in excess of 70mph
No two strokes gents.😕👍
I just never really got into 2 strokes
Awesome as always...
🤘🤘
Always a good time at bike night!
Hell yeah!
love the passion and creativity of the biker folks..something to believe in during these crazy times..
🙏🙏
Always enjoy your videos 😎
🤘🤘
I always found balancing all four carbs the most challenging on older bikes.
It's not bad with some vacuum gauges
So good guys loved every bit. I have three project bikes and love my shed time with mates. Enjoy
Glad you enjoyed!
