Life with Jack and Nicole

Life with Jack and Nicole

Is there life after loss? What about love after loss? Do you want to visit cool and unique places around the country? How about learning to cook a new dish? Hard to believe, but all this can be found here on this channel. Originally the channel was known as Traveling with Jack and Pam. Jack and Pam were married for over 30 years and traveled to all the lower 48 states while also living in over 2 dozen cities. At a fairly young age, Pam was called to the ultimate destination...heaven in 2019. However, Jack continued moving forward and almost 5 years later was blessed to find love for the second time in life to the lovely Nicole. While they are both from vastly different cultures and on the surface may seem an unlikely match, love knows no boundaries and they will share with you their travels, cooking as well as some tips on how they manage friendship, love and even marriage.

Do yourself a favor: Get a Cessna 150, 152, or a 172 to learn the basics. A Cirrus is a complex, high performance bird and NOT suitable for basic flight training. As well, because it doesn't have a high-lift wing like the Cessna's, it's not very forgiving. Don't be fooled.

Thanks, but rest assured buying an airplane is not on our list of things to buy anytime in the near future. And as you suggest, the Cirrus would certainly not be on our shopping list as it is definitely for more advanced flying and pilots. But thank you for your comments that others may learn from.

My expectations were also not met. I retired to the coast of Ecuador last year with my wife Vivi. We had big plans, she is originally from Colombia and she made evrything so easy for me to live, communicate, make friends here. We bought a piece of land on a hill with an ocean view. We just started to break ground and start building our new house. Well her breast cancer came back and she started to get very weak and sick. She went to the hospital , but not much could be done. I took her back to our rental home in Ecuador and took care of her with the help of a visiting nurse. 3 months later she passed away at home, peacfully in her sleep, me by her side. Now I am still building the new house, completing the dream for her now. I have to be strong and just deal with the loneliness one day at a time. I do believe in God, and Vivi is in a better place now.

We took our kids to Helen Keller’s house over thirty years ago when we lived in Alabama. It was fascinating to see it since we had read her autobiography! Books coming to life forged a connection. Sadly, Helen died in poverty after going on so many speaking tours as an adult. On a different note, we tried to DM you! What is your address? We happy for you that you wrote this book! Although we have not lost a spouse, we are beginning to lose friends and family in their young 60s! Way too soon! Recently we made a video about us receiving therapy to learn to deal with those losses plus future losses as we are the younger siblings on both sides. Unfortunately the therapy hurt more than helped us and we ultimately got Sammi, our adorable papillon puppy to get a new perspective in life! We hope to read the book one day. As of today, Sammi's keeping up pretty busy! Take it easy, Ageing Joyfully

Full service restaurants where they bring you everything to the table should get tips. Coffee shops, self serve fast food places, etc. should not. I also think that coffee shops and other places where they do bring stuff like a coffee or pastry to your table could get like a smaller percent tip, like 5-8%, since they are not providing full service like a restaurant does.

I need to get this. Lost my wife to cancer three months ago, 33 years married, together since 9th grade, 14 years old. My story is very similar to yours. Toughest thing I’ve ever been through but I lost my Amazon account. I’ll have to get one of my Daughters to get me this.

I’m from Spain originally and we don’t tip there, or just give a small amount if the service is good. The reason why we tip in US though, is because food service workers get a very small salary and essentially work for tips. In Spain servers get paid a full salary, and don’t have to rely on tips. That’s also why you may notice, in general, servers is US are very friendly and efficient, as that’s how they earn a good tip 😊

I'm with Nicole. Tipping has gotten out of hand. I noticed it during Covid. There was no dine in options for awhile so when you went to pick up your food they would have the tip on the screen. During that time I did tip. Restaurants were struggling and restaurant workers were taking a chance of getting covid by serving you. While it started at sit down restaurants, fast food jumped on the bandwagon as well. Then after covid they just kept the tip on the screen. I work hard for my money. I'm not tipping where I wait on myself and if I get poor service at a dine in restaurant i won't tip there either. 7:10

I know that it has been awhile since you posted this. I lost my wife almost a year and a half ago. I have had similar thoughts that you described. I have no intention on carrying out taking my life. I’ve had moments where I thought that if I did, I could be with my wife. I would at least not be lonely. You said that you talk to Pam. I talk to Dee with those same thoughts that you shared. I also write her letters! I do think that she is listening. My best to you Jack! Cliff

You’re a good man sir. I realize you have someone new in your life and I’m very happy for you for it. As for me, I’ve been a widower going up four months now to my wife of 25 years .just like you, I had plans to move to Florida and be a fishing bum with my wife .right now, I feel like I’m in no man’s land and just trying to live in the moment rather than the future. Just trying to get my daughter through college in one piece and haven’t quite figured out what I’m going to do from here. Thank you for these videos, I really enjoy them in this time of my not so sure new life as a widower

I have a Grandson in Rwanda. He and his wife and children speak Swaheli, French & English. My Grandson is Jonathan Thaft, his wife is Epiphanie, and their daughters are Ashimwe Holy Blessed and Arera Joly Blessed. I love the girls names. Jonathan is a Pastor and I am trying to help him find a church to sponsor him. They want to immigrate to the US and live here in Decatur, Al. He has a religious Visa good for 10 years, and Epiphanie has a business management degree and also a culinary degree. They all have their passports. Nicole if you can give any advice about immigration and dual citizenship. It would be greatly appreciated. I always enjoy you two! Have a blessed day. May God continue to bless you by his grace and may you know his peace. ❤
