Teela, what are your thoughts on PODs such as Spoonflower, Zazzle? The process to upload to each takes so long. Do you think its even worthwhile to consider those? Or just focus on the ones you've recommended? And would you recommend one of the marketplaces alongside gumroad / shopify in the beginning? There are lots of people doing Etsy for their customer base, marketing. Is that even worthwhile despite all these low costs and AI generated products?

Could this be done in Fresco? I will no pay for illustrator. It is an excellent software no doubt, but it’s robbery for creatives like myself who are being charged every month for a software that I am not using all the time. I am a mom of 4 (1,2,4, and 10yrs). There is no consistency with my art right now… so it feels so unfair to charge monthly rather than allowing users to buy the latest software and let them choose to upgrade when they choose. So frustrating

Looks really nice ,but when Im trying to convert my raster pattern to vector they never tile. I've tried different patterns and trace options ,but it doesn't tile in the end. Can you suggest a way around this problem (if you had faced it yourself) ?

Correct, but it’s always important to outline what your commercial license does and doesn’t cover for buyers 👍

I bought the messy watercolor brushes awhile ago. The class is out of my budget. I’ve spent more money on brushes and classes, the real thing would be cheaper. I’m not sure what to do with all the stamp brushes.

When I try to turn a pattern into a vector I follow your steps exactly but my vectorized pattern edges no longer match up. It's as if trace image changes the image too much at the edges. Advice?

Great tutorial. For those striving for absolute perfection, make sure to also snap the first handle (on the left side) to the guideline, so both curves are exactly the same.

wow... 40 yrs ago in art class we had to choose a Master work to copy as perfect as we could. Then write up what we learned from it. I choose a Dali and realized a lot of his colors don't touch.. there is a paperthin line of background color between. But never thought to try that exercise in this way. Wish I had... this is perfect way to discover what you like and why!

If you're looking for free value, I provide it every Tuesday, all year long. Without getting too into the weeds, Skillshare changed their payment model for teachers two years ago which devastated our earnings, so myself as well as many other teachers have chosen to walk away because of it. My courses come with lifetime access *and* support. Many of them also share monetization strategies so you can make back your investment and then some with what's provided in them *on top* of all the bonuses, brush sets and additional tutorials beyond the core curriculum that I include. It all comes down to how you value the education provided - to solely focus on and comment on price alone is a bit unfair.

thanks for this video! I never used the smart object feature and this really helped a lot! So, to deal with the problem of making half drop repeats, I imported the file from photoshop into illustrator, and it retained the layers and I was able to turn them into smart objects in illustrator and then from there make the repeat, half drop and fully editable. I am using illustrator for the IPad, but I think illustrator for the computer has even more features and should work just as well. Next I am going to try to import the file directly from Procreate into illustrator, since I had to redo the smart object step in illustrator, so maybe I can skip photoshop altogether. I'll keep you posted, if you want. Thanks again for sharing all your knowledge!!
@dgsquareАй бұрын
Ok, it seems like the photoshop step in between is needed because i can't turn the layers into smart objects directly in illustrators. But after that, it works fine!

@EveryTuesdayАй бұрын
Bonjour Celine! If that's happening, it means your black square wasn't true black (it may have looked like black, but wasn't 100% black). You'll have to go back and remake your shape with a true black background and then all should work as expected 👍
