@FloranellaYT8 ай бұрын
If you mean the video about making the rosemary infused oil, you can find that here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/i6Gu0qyogNCoY8Y.html The rosemary I used to make it is homegrown. I don't have a link for it.

This is the best list I have seen out of MANY i have watched. I have several of them, and plan on buying more from your list that I think will be super helpful and informative. I really like that you included resources with scientific research to refer to as well. Two books that I have that I have not seen recommended before today are the ones by Maria Noel Groves. They are both great and I bought them after a seminar of hers I attended locally. Thank you for this great video of recommended books!

Can you use for hair?
@FloranellaYT Жыл бұрын
I would personally use just the carrier oil infused with dried rosemary for hair; no essential oils added. I would definitely not use the tinctures on hair, as the alcohol would be very drying.

Can we let the rosemary infuse in the oil by letting it sit in the sun for a few weeks instead of the boiler method? Thank you for your time
@FloranellaYT2 жыл бұрын
You could, but I don't recommend it. Sunlight causes constituents in our dried herbs and carrier oils to oxidize more quickly, which leads to rancidity and decreased quality. Better to let it slow infuse in a place shielded from light / heat.

What is the shelf life of this oil if I put in the vitamin E oil? How much vitamin E oil should I put in? Thank you for sharing this great video!
@FloranellaYT2 жыл бұрын
The shelf life will be dependent on the shelf life of the carrier oil you choose, so you will want to check that product. Vitamin E is typically added at a 1% dilution.

Wouldn't MCT oil work better as it is lighter and is not greasy? Or will it not infuse as well. Or is it that you prefer sunflower oil from a personal perspective.
@FloranellaYT2 жыл бұрын
You could work with whichever carrier oil you like best for topical use. Personally, I prefer to work with base oils that are as unrefined and unprocessed as possible. Because of this, I have not tried using MCT oil as a carrier for infused oils, so I cannot speak to its efficacy from experience. Theoretically, it should work just fine.

@@FloranellaYT My error -- I stopped the video and asked the question of the owner who was on the screen at the time. I like the copper still that think belongs to Derek Olson and I'm intrigued by the silver color still being shown by Bob Sibbett (?). I'm just starting our Lavender farm in North Idaho but I've been growing Lavender in my yard for years. Now I'm watching videos like crazy trying not to make mistakes and to get it going correctly and conveniently to the farm.------- It was a nice video. Makes me want to do a road trip

I am not certain where the Owen's got their still, but there is a very similar one (if not the same one) available through The Essential Oil Company, which is based in Oregon. It has been several years since we filmed this video, but if I remember correctly, the stainless steel still was built by someone named Steve... "Stainless Steve" I believe it was, but I could be mistaken. I think I remember John saying that he had a Facebook page.

I struggled with it when I first started growing it too. I started seeing success with it once I planted it in a raised bed instead of containers and when I watered consistently but less frequently.
